Sell our new Carr to the Jags?!

    You're dreaming!!! (but it's a nice dream):)

    Introducing your Houston Broncos!!!

Agreed - he's just the biggest "name" FA - I hate to say this, but by process of elimination Carr might still be our QB next year - I don't see an upgrade to any of the available free agents. Draft Kolb and let Carr sweat in '07!

    Offensive Analysis

You've hit the nail on the head - three OCs is two too many. Kubiak needs to be the HC - no more play calling. I think it's tough for a new HC who is considered a "genius" at either offense or defense to step back and learn how to be the head coach - the head coach needs to establish the...

    Culpepper?

    Sad but true

    Texans taking K. Kolb?!

Absolutely the most important "skill" required for QB success - that's why rag-arm QBs like Pennington can look so good. I really like what I've seen of Kolb so far this year, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him climb up to the 2nd round of the draft. I don't think he'll make the first...

    Culpepper?

Agreed - Culpepper would be more of the same, except older and more broken down - at least Carr can scramble for a first down! Of the FA QBs out there my first choice would be Garcia.

    Sherman GONE?!

I've often read that Houston was a 1 year way-station for Sherman before returning to head coaching - he's well-respected, and the Packers' fall in 04/05 was due to injuries more than anything else. There are certainly more shoes to drop in the upcoming off-season!

    Sherman GONE?!

Big Question - who becomes our OC when Sherman and Calhoun are gone? Baby Shanahan?
  9. PoolMaster21

    Introducing your Houston Broncos!!!

Mike Sherman will probably fill one of the open head coaching jobs, so the Green Bay influence will decrease significantly.

    Rosenfels: Anyone impressed?

Agreed - Sage is a solid backup - if Carr is out and Sage has a week of prep with the first team he'd do somewhat better than versus the Jags, which is all we can ask.

I hate to be optimistic but.......

Sad but true - we don't have the depth, although we're getting there. I'm sticking with 6-10, which will be a major accomplishment - and with an '07 draft anywhere near as good as this year the future looks fantastic.

    Too funny

Good point. Over the years I've observed that when there's a QB change during the game, and the backup has a significantly different style, that backup often looks like the second coming of Montana. But once people learn about the new QB's strengths and the D starts gameplanning against them...

    Kubiak: "Carr is our guy.."

I think the benching was aimed at the rest of the team as much as at DC. Kubiak has gotten in front of the press and claimed responsibility for coaching problems - now he's declaring that any player that fails to perform to his standards will be held accountable. I also agree with the...

    Kubiak: "Carr is our guy.."

    Seriously.. what if we lose??

So if we score 28 points in the third quarter and get shut out otherwise, what will there be left to complain about? :chicken:

    Titans Vs Texans Match Ups

Ditto. Houston and Tennesse are both -4 on the season - if Houston comes out on the plus side next Sunday I think they have an excellent chance of winning.

The Recipe for a Texans Victory

Nobody has mentioned this. Miami was an anomoly because Houston was -2 and still won, but change the +2 to even and Jacksonville is a struggle. Any game where Houston is on the plus side on turnovers is winnable.

    Mario Mario... what to do?

Right on! You can't be lucky if you haven't worked at being in the right place at the right time.
  19. PoolMaster21

    Texans not too bad

Good point - We're getting some guys back but we're still pretty thin on OL and DB. This team may be capable of 8-8 or better, but I'm sticking with 6-10 with lots of reasons to be optimistic for '07.

    Texans/titans

The early line shows the Titans -3. That sounds about right. If Houston plays with poise and effort for 4 quarters they should win, but as was already pointed out they haven't won a road game in a long time. I hope this is it. I give props to Kubes and the coaching staff for getting the...
