Rick's problem was he was terrible in the mid rounds of the draft and didn't seem to have an overall plan to build the team. Too many times he reacted to needs instead of being proactive.

Rick Smith was given a chance for ten years and couldn’t produce a winning record. Gaine was only given a one year chance with a 11-5 record. That’s racism.

You really can't compare the pre-salary cap **** show Oilers to the current salary cap Texans. Apples to oranges in how to manage a team. The Oilers were much worse at it.

I'm backing up and seeing this as an OB power play. Why else would Cal be dumb enough to allow his newly acquired NE front office person to attend a NE function and be seen conversing, one on one, with the guy the Texans would be pursuing as GM the night before firing Gaine? That's stupidity at a criminal level.

OB may well be in over his head, but he doesn't think so...yet. Don't get me wrong. I don't think OB is any kind of savior or even a good HC. I want him to have enough rope to either prove himself or hang himself.

This moron and his moron agent didn’t know he had a no interview clause when he signed the contract? Could this whole fiasco be more embarrassing? I thought the Texans were dysfunctional before with Smith and O’Brien. Easterby just said “Hold my beer”.
