Texans disagree, drafted 3 in last two years and that is the Gronk affect since model is NE.
Dunno that's why I'm asking. Although Brady was quoted as saying Easterby was laegely responsible for one of their recent SB wins.
This post addresses nothing I said and has nothing to do what you previously tried to put forth. What a pathetic reach. Lol!
Well I'd be more excited for Caserio as he seems to be their GM (hard to tell how much responsibility he has)
Apparently it sounds like the Pats will do a lot to hold on to Cesario.
Umm, Easterby is a life coach, not football man. Caserio would be a football operations executive
Well SteelB I would imagine you are pleased with Cal's dismissal of BG in that you've been very critical of the Texans ownerships reluctance to use resources ?
So anyway in contrast to his late father it looks like Cal is going to be much more inclined to open up the purse strings to improve the Texans which he'll be doing of course
by absorbing the unexpended portion of BGs contract while he will also be paying the new GM.
That piece has nothing from the Patriots holding on to Caserio this year, just a strong opinion from the writer
Which provided a lot of indicators that they would do everything possible to keep him because he's a strong asset for them. Big reason why I provided Belicheck's quotes. They already blocked this from happening before, so that history alone would leave strong speculation that they'd do everything possible to keep him from leaving especially since Bill is taking on a stronger role on the defense currently since they lost their D coordinator in the off season.
If they value him that highly then why not give him the title and compensation of an NFL GM ?
Of course he'd still be answering to Bllicheck but lot of teams already have that arrangement which allegedly is what we've had here in Houston for awhile now.
Shoot, practically since Rick Smith really.
They run things differently over there. I'm not sure how much more money he'd get from Houston, but its probably quite a bit I'm guessing. Maybe that would sway him you'd think. Overall, I don't see it as a good move for him other than financially.
Again, nothing from the Patriots. Sure they would like to keep him but nothing to indicate they will do a lot to keep him if he decides to leave
Financially is reason enough but you can't necessarily put a price on the feeling of stepping out & doing your own thing. He may just be ready for that. For years, its been Brady, Belichick & mostly any & everyone else getting the credit for building & keeping that juggernaut going up there. He's watched assistant after assistant leave & get opportunities to further their careers & he's really been the only constant outside of Brady, Belichick & Kraft.
So i hear what you're saying, but i liken Caserio's situation to Theo Epstein's. Succeed or fail, He just might be ready to move on out of the shadow of Brady & Belichick.
Maybe, but at the same time he's been there for over a decade and those are some major community ties you can create in that time. In addition I think his wife teaches at University of Boston and the weather difference between NE and Houston is pretty extreme. At the same time word was he was willing to take the Miami GM job but they wouldn't give him the power level he wanted so, if true, he may want that chance to show what he can do.
My question is though we have been hearing for days now that this is the guy that all the teams want but no one has been able to pry him from NE. What is it about the guy that makes him the chosen one? If we are just looking at the success NE how do we know how much of that was him and how much was the GOAT QB and HC?
Well, it could be that while Belichic has the HC/GM title it’s actually Caserio that finds the type of guys that Belichic demands for his system. If so, he’s pretty dang good at it.
How convenient you left out statement in post that addresses TE importance in Patriot model and that is not fake.
Colts - Ebron 13 TD's ranked below Gronkowski who only had 3 TD's based of yards per game gained.
That's the magic question to be honest. I don't think anyone really knows except for those who have worked with him...& Belichick, Easterby, BoB - they all swear by him.
me personally, i'm a little weary of poaching every damn NE assistant/coach/player we can get in the hopes that we'll be able to duplicate NE's success & "the patriot way". I'd like to see us finally breakthrough & if this helps us great........but even if we add Caserio, i'm not expecting Pats level success. i just believe that what's been going on up there is rare & can't be duplicated b/c of 2 individuals that we don't have here. I love DW4 & glad he's here & I think he's got a bright future.........but he aint TB12.....& BoB....well, we don't need to go there.
It says nothing about what we were discussing and Ebron has nothing to do with it at all. You just looked for anything you could shove out there to make it look like you didn't get fake news'd. Get lost until you can actually make a case for why their draft was bad or why their offense is in such trouble due to not having a great pass catching TE. Using that logic the Texans offense is doomed as well even with Watson, Fuller, and Hopkins. Lol!
I like Cesario just fine. I don't think you could put much into anything as far as whether he'd come or not, because none of its really know. Even as a Pats and Texans fan I sure as hell don't. I just know that I'd be looking at the Texans with a lot of concerns right now with Cal running the ship and firing his GM at a time where it looks very reactionary and sort of crazy. Glad that Gaine is gone, but these are really bad circumstances to be looking for a GM or for a GM to go to a team. I'm thinking it might be best for the Texans to get a rental GM until next off season where they can put in a lot of time and effort and have a better shot at all candidates. But if they can land Cesario, I'd be fine with it too. I think it will have to have quite a bit of money attached to it though.
If Cesario wants to be the shot caller then he has that opportunity in Houston. Regardless of how much power some here think BOB has. This will be the tell when it comes to finally letting y'all know that the GM is making the final calls on personnel.
