I have consistently posted Davenport will get better as he gets some NFL experience and
if one considers that without ranting "he sucks" we might get a clue on how team may build. First, I think Clowney will be traded (75%) but bringing Jonah in as a result of that trade at 50-50. More so than usual it seems to me the top six or so teams are all over the place in their selections or at least "experts" say so. Just today I read of two faints by top two Arizona & SF barring huge offers to replace them, instead of going QB Murray and DE Bosa selecting different player and filling team needs.
What if Coach thinks Jonah could fall to 23 and knows he can select players like Little or Scharping to push replace Davenport
if Jonah isn't there? Would he risk using capital from a Clowney move to bring in high value guys? If Quennen WIlliams is available at say # 9, would he use that pick from a Clowney trade? It's unlikely QW there but what an awesome player. Scenario, Bills cannot imagine QW falling and/or prefer Clowney so draft falls like this:
1. Murray goes whether AZ or a trade up. 2. SF jumps on Bosa 3. Jets pass rusher Josh Allen 4. Raiders (Clowney?) need a pass rusher and while Quennen got 8 sacks it was due more to rest of team. He is more of a Watt type in being able to diagnose play but inside guy and I'm not worried about his having difficulty maintaining weight. Heart concern or not OLB Montez Sweat could go here 5. TBay almost all mocks have LB Devin White 6. Giants (Clowney?) Qb Haskins 7. JAGs again almost all have RT Taylor 8. Lions TE Hockenson 9. Bills Clowney Texans select Quennen Williams.
In this scenario Texans also pick up a day two pick then get Greedy Williams #23. *interestingly more and more "experts" have this Williams dropping due to "unwillingness to tackle". NFL Chad Reuter has Greedy at #51 with Texans taking Baker 23; Kiper and McShay have Greedy # 29. Read this
