What do you base that on?Caserio has to be 100% in charge of the draft and in my opinion that is one of the reasons EB was not signed. I am putting a lot of nuts in front of the squirrels hoping that Nick is who I think he is.

True with the top five this year but I have seen Detroit with a top 3 next year if I remember correctly. There are so many trade proposals and NFL mocks flying around and changing almost daily with the DW official request. For a draft nut like me it is awesomeMaybe..I hope they don't get desperate . This years pick is the only guarantee of a top 5..2022 could be anywhere
Because I'm the one that hand feeds the squirrels outside of my apartment. O on a second read I suppose you were talking about EB? It has been posted in head coach thread I think at least twice that Eric wanted 100% control of Everything. Very similar to You know who. What do you base that on?
If reports are true and Watson wants the Jets how would you guys feel about the following:
we trade Watson and Mercilus
we receive both ‘21 1st, 22 1st and 2nd and 23 1st plus Quinnen Williams
Why did Caserio pick him?Because I'm the one that hand feeds the squirrels outside of my apartment. O on a second read I suppose you were talking about EB? It has been posted in head coach thread I think at least twice that Eric wanted 100% control of Everything. Very similar to You know who.
I would say thank you and turn the paperwork into the league office tonight before they change their minds.
Williams is a top DT and top 5 pick if he was coming out in this draft.
So you would have two tp 5's the 22nd the 34th and what would probably be a high 1st in the 2022 draft to go with what would be your own 1st rd high pick plus (Yes the Texans will suck next yr) you also would have your own very high 2nd rd pick.
You would have a chance with the NYJ picks and your picks to add 7 impact players and maybe more if you chose to trade down.
Say you draft Wilson at 2 this yr and draft 22/34. You've got your QB of the future. Then in 2022 you have say pick # 3 and Howell/Slovis/Rattler comes out (I'm forgetting another QB that's really a good prospect) how valuable would that pick be to trade down to say 7th? You could add another 3 really good players in a trade like that. So the 2021/2022 drafts could yield you up to 10 top 40 players counting Quinnen Williams in the 2 drafts and you would have your new franchise QB.
Would you do this deal? I mean even if you thought DW4's a generational player and didn't have to trade him, if you like Wilson with the current state of the franchise (No picks/Cap room) you almost would have to do this deal.
BTW, Williams is the perfect DT in Lovie's scheme. Think a better Tommie Harris.
If the DW situation is truly unrepairable then this is the deal I’d make. I’d send JJ wherever he wants to go, I’m trading Duke and anyone else to acquire as many picks as possible. Total rebuild. The scary thing is you’re trading a Ferari for what’s behind door number 2. I havent watched Wilson play, I know he’s got a terrific arm but you know who else had a terrific arm? Jeff George, and if we trade DW for that I’d be pissed.
There have been no reports that I know of that say Wilson has attitude issues. There were rumors about George's attitude before he was drafted.
. And I will hope Watson does well whatever happens..I hope he gets a ring
Liked because of where you're at on trade value - exactly where I'm at as well. But I'm using #2 on Wilson. The OLine isn't a dumpster fire and we're not throwing a rookie to the wolves behind it. Darnold can be a backup here but I'm not planning my future with him. Give me someone else preferably.IMO a realistic trade would be Watson to the Jets for 2021 1st & 2nd, 2022 1st & 2nd, and Darnold thrown in.
Darnold has never lived up to expectations in college or NFL, but maybe coming in somewhere at rock bottom with no expectations will help cure whatever mental obstacles he has. It is an universal opinion by all the "experts" that the talent is there, he just can't get out of the way.
Would trade Jets #2 for kings ransom and load up on defense/o-line this year and next. Be patient, give Darnold 2 years, if he fails, draft a QB early in 2023 with a team full of talent on D and O-line. Don't want to put a rookie QB on top of our current dumpster fire.
IMO EB was not signed because he is a WCO guy. The only offense Caserio knows is the Patriots offense. They were not compatible. And they already knew DW4 was adios.Caserio has to be 100% in charge of the draft and in my opinion that is one of the reasons EB was not signed. I am putting a lot of nuts in front of the squirrels hoping that Nick is who I think he is.
The 49ers is the only “instant contender” I see with Watson. Doesn’t make sense to me for him to force a trade to NYJets. You do not believe that Detroit with 1.7 + the San Francisco 49ers with the 12 pick would not help to drive up his value?
Super Bowl talk was only fodder for a reason, he wanted out. DW4 loves him some Saleh and NYC and that has a much higher priority. The 49ers is the only “instant contender” I see with Watson. Doesn’t make sense to me for him to force a trade to NYJets.

This is my plan and where I see the Texans are headed. A draft like I have indicated would do much to mollify most Texans fans. Many of us recognize that DeShaun is generating his exit through his agent.I would say thank you and turn the paperwork into the league office tonight before they change their minds.

No thanksJust spotted an interesting scenario by McShay - Watson goes to Panthers in return for Panthers '21 1st and 2nd, '22 1st, Teddy Bridgewater plus S Jeremy Chin.
This way he is out of our conference as well.
This one has merit.
Needs to pass a physical, went on IR this year with a serious injury.I would say thank you and turn the paperwork into the league office tonight before they change their minds.

You seem to be solely focused on the football aspect of the trade. I think that is maybe 40% of why DeShaun wants to leave Houston. The 49ers is the only “instant contender” I see with Watson. Doesn’t make sense to me for him to force a trade to NYJets.

On another note it was just reported in the last 30 minutes that head coach culley agreed to be the head coach as he knew DeShaun Watson was definitely staying in Houston. Also a message general manager Nick Caserio insists that Watson will be the Texans QB. Simple negotiating tool.
Uh... Never mind.looks like jokes on cully because watson can literally dog it out there on the field until texans give in n trade him
watson has all the levredge

Wilson scares me. He certainly looks the part but he played cupcakes week in and week out this year but was just average in 2018 and 2019.Liked because of where you're at on trade value - exactly where I'm at as well. You aint ginna get a bunch of high first round picks - one, maybe two if you're lucky. The rest are gonna be mid to lower.Other than the picks and the players, I love this trade.
Wilson showed growth and not a regression which is what you want to see.Wilson scares me. He certainly looks the part but he played cupcakes week in and week out this year but was just average in 2018 and 2019.
HOWEVER the bigger question would be is Pastor Master Jack ok with Mormons?
So they gonna pay him all that cheddar to sit on a bench? I don't thank sowatson wont be activated ever agian its a basic chess move the texans will do
I'd rather take my chance at a QB with Miami or NYs first than teddyYou aint ginna get a bunch of high first round picks - one, maybe two if you're lucky. The rest are gonna be mid to lower.
Jeremy Chin is a future pro bowler and Teddy B is serviceable - iow, we have an NFL ready QB.
Yeah..I'm already looking at the Draft picks.I think we’ll all be disappointed when Watson is not traded before the draft.
So they gonna pay him all that cheddar to sit on a bench? I don't thank so
I would prefer to keep Watson but he doesn’t want to be here so if we trade him I hope this is the type of deal we get. My concern is what Caserio does with the picks especially if Osteensterby sticks his snout in the mix.I would say thank you and turn the paperwork into the league office tonight before they change their minds.

People acting like they already ours. When had anything ever happened right for the Texans. This is going to get worse before it gets better.Yeah..I'm already looking at the Draft picks.

Would have to seriously consider this one
Problem is they only have one in 21' and one in 22" but if we did the deal before the draft they could give us the 1st for 23' also. That's not so sweet and of course Dan didnt check that first.
- First round - 11th overall
Too bad Deshaun isn't as marketable as Baker Mayfield. He's getting his spots from Cleveland.I feel pretty sure the Agent Orchestrated this whole fiasco. He is working on BIG contracts for DW4 in a major market of which he gets a cut. NY would bring in a lot of marketing money...
Would Earl Campbell's Skoal Brother commercial be as successful in New York?Too bad Deshaun isn't as marketable as Baker Mayfield. He's getting his spots from Cleveland.

Can't say I disagree though. I'd do it but can NC make something like this come together? As I said before Wilson looks the part but played no one this year and had been average in 18 and 19. I'd go with a 22" prospect.
