What is Laremy Tunsil's worth in a trade?

Did I say that? What we're going to see the end of are the guys that can't escape the pocket and make off schedule plays. Like a Mahomes. Like a Watson. Wilson, Prescott, Burrows, etc.

Off schedule plays have to be made, that's true. But you can't win a championship off of off schedule plays. Which is what DW4'S currently trying to do.

This is really the debate that's currently going on, even if the WOF's don't realize this.

Hasn't he won a championship at every level doing that?

Lucky, Rico, Optimistic or any other member can you please post some videos and stats that actually shows Watson inconsistency in the pocket. Mainly the ones while the pocket was clean and a few when the pocket collapsed and Watson didn’t have any time to throw. The reason I asked, is because we all know Steel will not provide us with this data to back up his claim.

Earl , Thunder,
I don’t know how they find those advanced stats. I also don’t think any issue he does have, has anything to do with what happens post snap.

I’m pretty sure that’s what Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, & now Patrick Mahomes have done to win championships.

Those guys are very accurate from the pocket and only make off schedule plays out of nceesity it's not the way they make a living, which is what DW4_s currently doing.

Plus look at those guys accuracy and anticipation vs what DW4"s level currently is.

We’re just going to have to agree to disagree as I can’t process stupid.
If you cant see the difference between the way Roders plays and his degree of accuracy vs DW4's. Then stupid is the correct word
to use.

Look at Rodgers accuracy from the pocket vs DW4's as a clue. Focus on the last 5 games of the season. But if you want to spend the time go back and look at Rodgers last season in terms of accuracy/anticipation vs DW4. Besides do you really think if that a Rodgers lead team would ever be outscored 51-7 regardless of who the HC was?

Yep, I'm very interested in who enjoys lying to themselves. This should be very entertaining.

Well his accuracy & anticipation must have took a dive in 2017 & 2018 because he couldn’t even get into the playoffs.
I know that doesn’t make any sense. But that’s how you sound to the rest of us when you draw these dumbass conclusion from your perception of what you see & can’t produce any statistical evidence.

That's the issue, you can't win a NFLchampionship that way. But this is the way he's played his whole life.

It's only your opinion that a NFL championship can't be won that way. Times are changing, it's not the Bradshaw/Brady day's anymore. How many championships did Marino win? Montana/Young/Staubach didn't win by making off schedule plays?

Bradshaw/Brady were/are mobile in their own ways. Bradshaw was actually a very good runner. He was strong as a bull.

I look at DW4/LJ's as this eras Vick/Tarkenton. How many championships did those guys win? Bottom line is even if you're a mobile QB to win championships you've still gotta have accuracy/anticipation from the pocket, like Staubach/Elway did.

I dont see that in DW4, apparently some on this MB are seeing some things I'm not seeing and I hope I'm wrong or that's another atleast 5 yrs wasted.

What makes me LOL is because all of the suckass QB's before DW4 has the fanbase paralyzed to the point of they actually have convinced themselves that the Texans can win a championship with DW4 at QB.

I find this quite entertaining. Human nature at it's best, living in fear.

Again steelb, if your theory was to be tested by making Watson available to other GM's, you just might be surprised at how GM's who need a QB might respond. I jokingly mentioned the other day, offer the Steelers Watson straight-up for Rothlisberger plus his full contract (an OB trait) and I bet he doesn't even get to finish the sentence before he gets a yes. Problem, Rothlisberger would want nothing to do with playing for the OB and the Texans.

I also believe the Patriots, Redskins, Dolphins, Bears, Broncos, etc would make a move in an nstance to take Watson off the Texans hands.

I would include in this conversation the Lions. I think they would jump through the phone, if possible, to sign a trade agreement if they could unload Stafford and his contract to the Texans for Watson. I'd be 100% certain that the Browns would do the same thing with Mayfield.

At ths juncture, OB would never be hired by any NFL or CFL franchise as their GM. HC might be a big maybe in the CFL or XFL. OC would be crickets from all 3 options. Position coach.....all 3 entities would be an option. This reality might be the best reason you haven't seen Watson flourish to his peak performance. Watson's been handcuffed to an offensive idiot.

I hope you are right.

More excuses, BOB isn't a bad HC and would find another job very quickly. GM job probably not.

OC....probably not, hmmmm, definitely not. HC, man after this Hopkins fiasco it could be tough to convince an NFL team to hand him the reins....not to mention, how he filled out his coaching staff.

Not many teams hand the reins to any HC, most have a traditional setup with a real GM that would make decisions like that

They had that and RS failed through 2 regimes and a decade.

Cal decided to give OB the power since RS failed when he had the power.

Tunsil wants to be the highest paid LT in the NFL. That’s where you start. He has all the leverage, Texans typical games until his window passes. Next man up!

Per OTC, $18.5 apy would make him the highest paid OL in the NFL, at least until some other mega-deal. He'll get more. $18.5 was a good starting point, but we all know it's about guaranteed monies. Johnson got $25m guaranteed, I expect Tunsil will get close to $40m

Right. And he still said no. Major MAJOR **** up not getting a deal done before he got on a plane to Houston.

If this guy isn't here at least 5 years, this trade was a flat out bust of epic proportions. And that's just to get equal value on the deal of giving up 2 ones and what you have to pay him.

We don't know what the initial offer was for years or guarantee. Just that it wasn't good enough as an opening gambit. I'm pretty confidant a deal will get done

I don’t know how anyone, even the most optimistic like you and Steelbtexan, can be sure about anything, given fluidity in these times of historical uncertainty.

My hope, anticipation, and disappointment for the Texans has never reached the levels I had for the Oilers.......at least to date.

perhaps it’s b/c you’re older now and you’ve been able to put things in perspective? I remember nights during the Rockets’ 93 run when I couldn’t sleep b/c I was so hyped with anticipation for the upcoming game.....or so devastated b/c they lost a critical one. I remember watching a Texans Colts Monday night game in 2011 and losing my damn mind behind every call made against the Texans. My then wife was furious b/c I was making so much noise.

But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve gradually come to understand that at the end of the day this **** is just a game and getting too wrapped up in this stuff is just bad for your health man. These days I allow myself to enjoy the game, but I’m always preparing myself for the downs...

This team has taught me one thing in life, and that is how to handle losing well. Losing used to devastate me, now I could almost care less. Even the Chiefs come back win this past post season, as I watched it unfold, it didn't even surprise me or bother me much. It was expected.

Yes, but I still hope for them just like I did for the Oilers since 1964
Back in the day, I don’t remember the Oilers ruining future draft classes for one player. Maybe trying to relive past glory by taking Eddie George (stoking find memories of Earl Campbell) instead of a truly transformational player like Randy Moss (yes even back then I was pounding the table for a different prospect than the home team went for, Lol).
Point is, this O’Brian regime is different. He is oblivious to public perception, doesn’t relate well to certain types of players as people and individuals, gets too personal, is laughing stock around NFL front offices, not even sure he’s respected as a head coach?

In so doing Bill O’Brian has destroyed the NFL Draft process as it relates to your Houston Texans. Years of losing to gain draft equity, which odd now it seems, did very well only to give it all away for personal vendettas and poor execution both on and off the field.

Until O’Brian is out of here I’m not hopeful but realistic. :texans:

If I remember correctly Bum gave up alot of draft capital to get Earl.

If you're talking about not relating to players that don't practice, then you would be correct.

The salary cap is a different world that we live in today.

kinda how I was. even as we were up 24-0 I was expecting the chiefs to come back and at least make a game out of it....

Yeah I now remain angry for only 2-5 days rather than an entire week. Getting older has really, really helped; although teeth grinding during sleep seems to have worsened.

Bum's biggest mistake, as OB is doing today, was chasing players at all cost......in Bum's case, Stabler and Casper. I think the Casper deal reminds me of the Texans landing Johnson.....a couple of dead horses past their prime that cost too much.

IIRC "snake" was pretty banged up but wasn't he deep into alcoholism? I think he lasted only due to his rep. If only Bum had told Pastorini "No! Go sit down." on the plane ride home.

Pastorini wasn't good in Oakland either.

Both Snake/Dante were pretty beat up by that point.

Noticed the other day that Tunsil made a financial contribution for the Coronavirus pandemic to his hometown in FLA but nothing, zippo for his
new hometown of Houston.
I think this says loud and clear that Tunsil thinks there's no need for him to pretend in the least about
sucking up or anything to anybody around here for his new contract. He's saying I'm in full control and tough shix if you don't like it.
I didn't ask to be here, it was all your idea.

He contributed to both places according to this:
