If you have MRE's all you need is water. I went through a few during my cold week of horror.

I am hoping for this regardless of who is our quarterback. We years ago went to a Zone blocking system which I was against. These two running backs + crushers on the offensive line would be a pleasure to watch in 2021.2 back set, one being a pass catcher and the other a bruiser. If DW stays, we utilize his legs more ala Lamar Jackson and the Texans suddenly have a lethal run threat which opens the passing game immensely. Watch for personnel tweaks to the Offensive line that would signify run heavy offense.
My gut tells me they've got a locker room full of locker room guys. Not many of them particularly good at football. My gut tells me they just spent $2.3M on a locker room guy.
There was an injury involved.Color me unimpressed with this signing. Ingram was completely phase out of last season and to my knowledge, it had nothing to do with an injury. David Johnson was at least phased out in part because of injury, plus he was 3 years younger when the trade occurred. Maybe Culley knows something the rest of the football world doesn't. My gut tells me they just spent $2.3M on a locker room guy.
That was 2019That felt like a lot more than 349 yards.
Not signing guys like Ingram, Britt, or Kirksey. Not restructuring & holding on to guys like Johnson & Hargreaves. Cutting guys like McKinney. What would?
David Johnson actually looked productive the last few games when we ran more zone blocking.I am hoping for this regardless of who is our quarterback. Careful now. You hold the bar any higher you'll stub your toe.Not signing guys like Ingram, Britt, or Kirksey. Not restructuring & holding on to guys like Johnson & Hargreaves. Cutting guys like McKinney.
Ingram is instantly the 2nd best RB on the roster. Now that's sad.

Houston I’m rocking with you guys 1000 %
I don’t care what nobody say Houston is where it’s at.

Those yards came against Cincinnati, a team that gave up 2368 yards on the ground last year and Tennessee, another bad defense against the run.David Johnson actually looked productive the last few games when we ran more zone blocking.
3 ypc against those same Titans in October. 6 ypc in December. Those yards came against Cincinnati, a team that gave up 2368 yards on the ground last year and Tennessee, another bad defense against the run
Not at $3MIngram symbolizes what I believe to be a total tank job attempt on behalf of the Texans front office, which IMO is fine.
For all we know he was the one Jj was talking about halfassen it in the weight room.Have they even recognized what was happening inside that locker room and on the practice field, though? Cutting players like Jon Weeks...makes no sense. He was paid in line with his position, never had a bad snap in all the years he was with the Texans. He was not a problem on or off the field.
For all we know he was the one Jj was talking about halfassen it in the weight room.
We have no idea
Embrace the Suck.So re-signing a RB who was part of the worst run game, and a CB who was part of the worst defense is giving you the feel goods?
If David is going to be a power back I would rather see him behind a power blocking line; 3.5 to 4David Johnson actually looked productive the last few games when we ran more zone blocking.
Uh...what? I think he said he is glad to come to Houston. Someone correct me if I interpreted it wrong. Deshaun has me scared to interpret any comment.
Dayyumm! I got it right! I speaking homie.Houston I’m rocking with you guys 1000 %

Does anyone know if deuce deuce copied that to number 4?Thank you.
Looks like in 2021 he should be a better version of 2019 Carlos Hyde.Had a down year last year but eh. Everrything was a mess last year anyway.
Hopefully he can be solid and hopefully we can use a later pick on a RB to learn from these old fogies.
Running backs that rushed for about 300 yards. Ingram in 2020 = 299 yards. David Johnson in 2019 = 345 yards. Two more of those, the Texans can have a respectable 1200 yards rushing in 2021.

Rather than making unverified quotes from anonymous posters, why don't you just call your shot and tell us who the future 2x All Pro Caserio just brought in?I remember alotta people had this same energy when we brought Ty Mathieu in...
“he’s not worth the money on the 1 year deal we gave him”
”he’s been injured a lot recently”.
“He’s small and can’t defend big body WR’”
“Hasn’t been anything special since he tore his ACL..I think he’s done”
yada yada yada.
All he’s done since he came and left here.......where he played well I might add, is become a 2X 1st team all pro. In 2019, I believe he made all pro at 2 different positions. This year he was a 1st team all pro with a PFF grade MUCH lower than the PFF “grade” that he recieved in the 1 year he played here..

I'm going to judge each move on its own merit. Unlike others, who will give blanket plaudits for each and every transaction the organization makes. My point was made bro. You don’t know whose gonna be what...especially under a new regime/system.
Rather than @$%# about every single move NC makes b/c he’s not bringing in perennial all pros for pennies on the dollar, why don’t you just acknowledge that short of this team doing that, you’re not gonna like anything they do.
Does Nick Caserio think 2021 will be a "veteran year", as well? Other than trading away 1st round picks (that he doesn't have), I ask the question again.“I truly believe this is a veteran type of year,” O’Brien said, via multiple reporters.

Bill O'Brien during the 2020 offseason:

What's the difference between Nick Caserio and Bill O'Brien as GMs?
One thing is for sure....... O'Brien cant add any more crazy contracts or trades. What's the difference between Nick Caserio and Bill O'Brien as GMs?
A lot can change between now and the upcoming draft. Not expecting anything to change but at this time we should not rule anything out.
Mark said he's talking to him and by the response, Watson doesn't want to be here.
He doesn't have the bat to swing for the fence.I like that NC has not taken any swings for the fences so to speak in regards to FA's! I like the meat and potatoes approach as far as this season goes. Needs are getting filled with players who should at least be solid contributors. No real risk. I like that they are on prove themselves affordable short contracts and as this team is constructed I think that is the way to go.
What I mean is he could have tied all his cap space to a couple of FA's as opposed to trying to fill some needs with several fairly inexpensive prove your self FA's. I myself like NC's approach to free agency this season. I am not expecting much during the upcoming season but I do think our team will compete and be respectable. With an easier schedule I expect we will finish our upcoming season better than last. Not much better but better just the same. That is even without DW4.He doesn't have the bat to swing for the fence.
I believe Mark Ingram will be the Texans' starting running back come Week 1, but I can't put anything past Phillip Lindsay. To keep Lindsay off the field (I'm not actually convinced this will happen), Ingram needs to provide a physical, punishing run game for a Texans offense that has myriad question marks heading into training camp. Given Ingram's familiarity with David Culley, who coached Ingram in Baltimore, the veteran has a real opportunity to bounce back from a down 2020 performance and have one of his best seasons as a seasoned back who thrives at the goal line
I don't think it's a good idea to trade a young running back that has shown he can have success in this league for a 5th or 6th round prospect. Not when one of your other running backs is 31 and another will be 30 in December. And your passing game was neutered during the offseason.I’m betting another team will come in and scoop up Phillip Lindsay thus giving Mark Ingram the carries he needs to crush it. A team like the Rams who just lost Cam Akers for the season for example. But it will cost them (Rams) a 5th or 6th rounder. 4th rounder would get it done today. Caserio will continue to build this roster every avenue he can. This would also require clean bill of health from David Johnson.
