Yeah.. thanks but not the point of my ire. This wont hurt you guys as it was a out of conference Loss. You guys will win that division easily.
I didn't see the game, but I've been saying this for weeks. The Dline just needs to run simple stunts and this Oline is confused AF!!! Haven’t picked up one this year that I can remeber
One of the 2 main weapons is on IR.Right. And take away yardage from sacks and the Texans had 55 passing yards. They don't even get to 200 yards of total offense, and that's with Mixon going off for 115, and 142 total for the team on the ground.
That's insane for the weapons this team has.
Ok buddy, think you have taken things way too far. Me demanding blood, haha. Quite an imagination. I simply expect more from a so called team captain than you do.Or, you are making assumptions as to why the guys werent there to back him. From my understanding he was on the Packers sideline and with that many Packers its easy to lose one guy in the crowd or not even know he is over there and maybe they didn't know what was going on until after he was already walked back by refs and staff.
Difference between your opinion and mine.... mine extends grace to the possibility I don't have all the details.
Yours demands blood because you saw something that confirmed your preconceived bias of the man... which is an emotional response... which is exactly what Diggs had.
It was not meant as literal but if that is the only thing you gleaned from that post was a criticism of a metaphor. Peace be with you then.Ok buddy, think you have taken things way too far. Me demanding blood, haha. Quite an imagination. I simply expect more from a so called team captain than you do.
Peace be with you too. There are certain things we just wont seem eye to eye on. And that is fine.It was not meant as literal but if that is the only thing you gleaned from that post was a criticism of a metaphor. Peace be with you then.
I love it. I can tell you are a great fan. I can definitely appreciate your kindheartedness.Problem with prematurely judging the situation and "holding people to a higher standard" are:
1- Are you able to obtain those higher standards yourself or are you imposing on another expectations you yourself can not obtain. Such as to ALWAYS under every circumstance keep your emotions in check. Not 99.999% of the time but no matter what 100%?. If not, one should offer grace to those that also do not maintain it 100% but rather focus on the 99.999% forgive the misstep and move on.
2- If you do NOT offer that grace, regardless of the reason for their actions, even if understandable or justifiable. Your"diva/trouble maker" assumption becomes a self fulfilled prophecy by you simply not extending forgiveness for a mistake. Who wants to work for someone that NEVER forgives your mistakes? Marriages fail when there is no grace for mistakes.... how much more would a business/emplyee relationship fail if grace not extended?
3- If you hold people to higher expectations without extension of grace fir mistakes.... how willing do you think current players will want to stay with your team or sign up to be flogged for every mistake?
4- Only bad patterns need to be "nipped" a one off event does not make a pattern. Yes, he has a history, but until he displays that history in a Texans jersey as a pattern... the man has a clean slate in my mind... again... because you offer people grace to make mistakes and learn from them.... if you are so painfully rigid that "mistakes aren't tolerated" then even your "not problem players" will eventually become a problem.
He has revved up the opposing team and their home crowd right before kickoff. I am sure Casserio was fuming when he saw that. That C on his uniform needs to be changed to a D for dumb diva.So what has Diggs done for us so far this year? Besides take up space in a Texans uniform? And act like an idiot.
Agreed, I dont think Demeco can ignore this. At the very least, he needs to have a talk with Diggs and nip it in the bud.I love it. I can tell you are a great fan. I can definitely appreciate your kindheartedness.
However, great coaches let players express themselves and play to their strengths. That being said you got to set a tone about discipline. No one person can be above the team in their actions. (True story and you can look this up: Think about Jimmy Johnson. When Michael Irvin was running late at the Airport and Jimmy said “shut the door to the plane” here is an all pro wide receiver and playmaker. Coach is saying, by his actions that if Michael wants to play for me then he better get his act together.
Hell, what would happen if Diggs goes out there and gets in a fight and punches the guy in the helmet and breaks his hand?? He would be F-ed for the rest of the year. And who suffers??? A: the team.
Yeah.. thanks but not the point of my ire.
I honestly thought you guys played for the FG on your last drive. If you scored a TD there we might have been in deep trouble. We were able to get in FG range fast but I don’t think we would have had enough time to get downfield to score the game winning TD.Agreed, I dont think Demeco can ignore this. At the very least, he needs to have a talk with Diggs and nip it in the bud.
Right. I think the play on 3rd down should have been to look to the endzone. If nothing was there, checkdown to the middle of the field. That wasn't the play, so we're on to the Colts.I honestly thought you guys played for the FG on your last drive. If you scored a TD there we might have been in deep trouble. We were able to get in FG range fast but I don’t think we would have had enough time to get downfield to score the game winning TD.
Yeah it was like we were playing too conservative on that last drive instead of going for the kill.I honestly thought you guys played for the FG on your last drive. If you scored a TD there we might have been in deep trouble. We were able to get in FG range fast but I don’t think we would have had enough time to get downfield to score the game winning TD.
I didn't see the game, but I've been saying this for weeks.
If Green is to dumb to learn how to pickup stunts then he needs to be on the bench.
You guys will be fine. I hope you bounce back.Right. I think the play on 3rd down should have been to look to the endzone. If nothing was there, checkdown to the middle of the field. That wasn't the play, so we're on to the Colts.
We were way too conservative on that last drive and predictable. Maybe a pass play on 1st down or 2nd down catches the packers off guard and we get a TD. But we seemed more than happy just playing for a FG.You guys will be fine. I hope you bounce back.
Worst part is I lost a bet with friend who is from GB. Now I am going to have to wear a packers tshirt and send her a photo of me in it.We were way too conservative on that last drive and predictable. Maybe a pass play on 1st down or 2nd down catches the packers off guard and we get a TD. But we seemed more than happy just playing for a FG.
HuhSo what has Diggs done for us so far this year? Besides take up space in a Texans uniform? And act like an idiot.
That’s them putting the trust on the defense. We just got a big time stop the series before so I can see why they went conservative. Plus we couldn’t pass because of the protection issues and Slowik acting like he doesn’t know how to counter.Yeah it was like we were playing too conservative on that last drive instead of going for the kill.
If it makes you feel better I was nervous as crap. I thought for sure we lost.We were way too conservative on that last drive and predictable. Maybe a pass play on 1st down or 2nd down catches the packers off guard and we get a TD. But we seemed more than happy just playing for a FG.
I want to say we played to force you to use your timeouts & protect the ball... then they threw a quick out on third down, so... shrugsI honestly thought you guys played for the FG on your last drive. If you scored a TD there we might have been in deep trouble. We were able to get in FG range fast but I don’t think we would have had enough time to get downfield to score the game winning TD.
I think that Ryan's did go for the field goal which in my opinion was a mistake. I don't think he was confident in his offensive line.I honestly thought you guys played for the FG on your last drive. If you scored a TD there we might have been in deep trouble. We were able to get in FG range fast but I don’t think we would have had enough time to get downfield to score the game winning TD.
Conservative is a better word than my choice..Yeah it was like we were playing too conservative on that last drive instead of going for the kill.
We have all heard the term Ride the Lightning but I think Laremy rides the ARC. He thinks his job is just to push the opponent away from Stroud or remain in front of him.The problem with the stunts coming off the left side….it’s Tunsil’s man swinging around the DT and into the open gap. I’ve seen Tunsil make no effort in sliding over to take on the DT which would allow Green to disengage and move into the open hole to engage the stunter. Tunsil is the veteran Pro Bowl LT who should’ve been working with Green on some kind of communication to allow both to stuff the stunt. I see far too many stunts leaving Tunsil out of the play and him pretty much giving up. In my book, I see a one trick pony who’s overrated and overpaid.
I’ll also include this observation on passing downs regarding Tunsil. Tunsil will ride his responsibility on an arc around the pocket, but when pressure is coming on CJ…..I’d say 100% of the time, he immediately moves to his left and under the arc Tunsil rode his responsibility to. The problem, Tunsil is typically in a position where his right shoulder is facing the line b/c this is where he stops the arc, allowing his responsibility to immediately disengage and pursue CJ now from a blind side. This is passive pass blocking at its best. The only reason Tunsil’s grade isn’t in the dirt is b/c CJ has managed to find a target or get a pass off before getting hit from behind. As for Green, I’m not sure he’s ever going to get better playing next to Tunsil.
Hindsight being 20/20 it’s a lot to ask of any defense to keep an NFL offense out of FG range with 1 timeout and almost 2 minutes to play in today’s NFL. Especially given that the defense overperformed expectations to that point. On the road with the game on the line you have to play to win in that situation. Green Bay is too good on offense to depend on the defense forcing them to turn over on downs (because they have plenty of time) in that situation. They weren’t necessarily battling the clock to go 40 or so yards. That’s them putting the trust on the defense. We just got a big time stop the series before so I can see why they went conservative. Plus we couldn’t pass because of the protection issues and Slowik acting like he doesn’t know how to counter.
Until the protection issues get fixed, there's no counter. That’s them putting the trust on the defense. We just got a big time stop the series before so I can see why they went conservative. Plus we couldn’t pass because of the protection issues and Slowik acting like he doesn’t know how to counter.
He's playing on a bum ankle and still doing his job. Tunsil is the least of the ol issues. We have all heard the term Ride the Lightning but I think Laremy rides the ARC. He thinks his job is just to push the opponent away from Stroud or remain in front of him.
That can work but lately does not seem to be happening.
I have defended him historically as his job is to keep Stroud on his feet. He is having a problem that seems to be getting worse.
He seemed to be getting a handle on the penalties but I didn't notice him returning to his previous left foot slide.
My overall view is Tunsil [knowing he has ankle injury] should not be caught going to his right. As a long time veteran and a pro bowler, he should not be continuously fooled by stunts. He had at least two plays where he should have received a flag for moving his left leg. After his plethora of yellow hankies, I expected him to level out rather than to revert. I am also not confident in how many plays he positively impacted the running game. He's playing on a bum ankle and still doing his job. Tunsil is the least of the ol issues.
How many sacks did he give up yesterday? Penalties?
It seems like they ran the ball well to the left side, from when I read the game logs.
There is a counter, we’ve seen it as a Texans fan. Get the ball out of your quarterbacks hand quickly. Put him in shotgun so he can see where the blitz is coming quicker and go to his hot reads. That’s only a few right there.Until the protection issues get fixed, there's no counter.
You make a good argument KA4Texan.As do I, but even Johnson lost his cool at times..... the time with Innegan will always be my favorite.
I don't condone what Diggs did, but also Im not going to pretend like I know the full story of what happened to lead up to that.
If he doesn't do it often... let it go and move on with life IMO.
We all lose our cool if you catch us wrong time or place
It definitely changes things up but spiking the ball is still a thing.Imagine if Bobby slowik runs the ball on 3rd down and Green Bay uses their last timeout, they wouldn’t have been able to stop the clock there. He has questionable play calling. Have you been watching the games?

You join the board lol?

I'm not a huge Tunsil fan either. I wish he was more physical in the run game. Although he's doing what he's paid to do, (protect Stroud's blindside.) But ask yourself this, if they were to try and trade him how many teams would be lined up to trade for him.Mixon sees that cut back lane well. Maybe not quite as well as Foster did but close. Still not a Tunsil fan and never will be.
But what exactly was his behavior previously that you're talking about? Him requesting a trade?Again that is your opinion on how you choose to judge people. I sure hope you understand that some of us do choose to take into account how a player behaved on other teams when they have a initial questionable bad behavior. Why do you think teams do background checks before drafting a player. Often times they won’t give someone a second chance because it is a red flag to high of a risk. You absolutely should take into account how someone behaved in the past before signing them. Look, all I am saying is, this is NOT how a team captain should be behaving. I was fine signing him, but not fine he was ever made team captain because I dont think he deserved to be team Captain. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
Slowik did call a good run game tbf but obviously the passing game and the end was awful. Can’t believe that how putrid this oline played and how bad Slowik called this game we are talking about how Diggs handled a punk (in pregame)
Is this not just about every NFL game from every team? If you apply the same scrutiny is everyone not like this?Boring in the sense that I have not seen 4 quarters of good execution in any of them, not boring in that all but two have been really close and came down to the last few seconds.
It's also interesting that Diggs is drawing the ire and not Tank Dell. Who has without question been playing far worse.Huh
Dude you know darn well he’s the number 3 receiver behind Collins and Dell. He’s the second leading receiver behind Nico and he’s tied for first with Nico in Touchdown. So what do you mean he hasn’t done anything but act like an idiot. You’re dead wrong on all accounts right here.
Crazy how quickly people turn after a freaking loss.

Well said Daniel.Really complaining about diggs being fired up. You know he’s the active receiver with the most tds against the packers? Is it Diggs fault his line and oc ignored the stat and prevented him from scoring a Td that game. Tom Brady, JJ Watt, Odell, Ramsey and other greats have been fired up the same way Diggs was pregame. He’s not the reason we lost. Any playoff contender playing in front of the home crowd is going be fired up regardless. You sound ridiculous and foolish. Diggs has been one of the bright spots on this disappointing offense
The thought seems to be an injured Tunsil is better than Fisher the backup.Sit him until he’s healthy then.
Not sure we can get what we would have to get for him even if Fisher could hold down LT.I'm not a huge Tunsil fan either. I wish he was more physical in the run game. Although he's doing what he's paid to do, (protect Stroud's blindside.) But ask yourself this, if they were to try and trade him how many teams would be lined up to trade for him.
He's been much more than an avg LT and many around these parts think he's soft (he plays hurt) and is the main issue with the ol. That's just not true, he's by far the best ol they've got.
Yet this roster was set to be a passing team including our OTs.Slowik did call a good run game tbf but obviously the passing game and the end was awful.
Yes and Fisher should replace Howard even if learning on the field. Mason did grade in the 80s vs GB.Unfortunately, it only works if Mason and Howard keep their responsibilities out of the backfield. How many times has CJ ever broke to his right when the pocket breaks down?
