Week 13: The Brown stains smear the Texans

Well I hope Pierce can get it going today. The OL has been pretty bad lately. He was on a great streak but the OL let him down the last few weeks...8yrds last week. Also like to see Nico and a TE both get 50+ receiving. While also hitting some other targets. Cooks has a calf injury and I'm not sure he is playing. Guess it's not that bad if he doesn't seeing he seems to just be going through the motions out there. Would love to see the DL get some better pressure and mix up the secondary Tampa 2 with some other coverages.

The long distance between the DLine and the Cover 2 (the way Lovie has had them play) leaves a huge open area that only elite LBs can cover/compensate. We don't have LBs now playing elite. Yet week by week he insists on trying to force the square peg in the round hole. Lovie needs to close up the Cover2 to give the D any chance to succeed. But Lovie seems to be stuck in the past........the Bears past, when he a team overflowing with talent throughout his D. Lovie's success with the Bears D was only due to the immense talent............not due to his overwhelming coaching skills.

Pierce will have to get more than 5 carries if he's gonna rack up some yards

Cooks is out. Pierce is going to have a difficult time of running like he did last game if Lovie doesn't let his QB try to open it up (success or not). His only other hope is that the Browns run defense is not exactly elite. Lovie's stubborness in not lifting the ultraconservativeness of his game plan will only insure continued non competitive failure.

KC in two weeks, Dallas next week. We'll soon be 1-11-1. So we'll be Number One!

Hey Thorn...I know there's not much chance, but wouldn't a win today help move that 2nd pick up in the order from #10 where it is now? There's a log jam of 4-8, 4-7, and 3-8 teams, so us pulling a rabbit out of the hat (or other not so nice places) today would be a HUGE change in moving that 2nd pick up in the order. Maybe Pep's been holding back :-) saving that one average game plan for this week. LOL

Texans' inactives include Brandin Cooks (calf), Derek Stingley Jr. (hamstring), Rex Burkhead (concussion), Thomas Booker, Austin Deculus and O.J. Howard. Brevin Jordan is active instead of Howard

Wonder if the accusers brought signs to the game saying I'm not getting up in there, complete with pics.

I actually thought about going to the game today, but I figured it was best to avoid all possible jail time. I would've been dressed in a towel with one of those little Go Texans towels that they used to hand out.

The entire crowd should be dressed like old Roman times just to embarrass God'ell for his part in contributing to today.

Watson hugged Cal, Hannah turned away.

She should.

In fact everybody should turn away when he steps on the field and of course have a T-Shirt with a pic of Derrick having a couple of fingers rammed up his butt on the back of the shirt.

I think it's more about our poor performance against the run. In the cover two at least one LB drops at the snap. Regardless whether it's a run or pass

As he drops if he reads run, he stops his drop & support the run.

But the way we're playing, it doesn't matter if he's playing cover 2 or not. The LBs are too busy over pursuing the wrong gaps & aren't good enough to play run, then drop incase it's a pass.

Hey Doc is Stingley's hamstring likely or unlikely to have been one of those compensatory type injuries resulting from his earlier Lisfranc injury ?

Most do not want to accept (say they do not see any problems with his foot) the fact that he has been limited in movement by his previous Lisfranc injury. However, I have been carefully reviewing his film every week and have seen distinct limitations. I have also had several conversations with two of my foot specialist orthopedic friends who see the same. Any deficit in his foot function, will encourage compensatory injuries. Stingley's calf injury is classic compensatory to a foot injury.
