Yup. I was rewatching the whole fight melee thing. I saw Al-Shaair get his helmet shoved into the ground, then swarmed by sissy blues. He was knocked down again and then grabbed in the facemask. All this happened before Al-Shaair took his helmet off. I’m not condoning it. I’m just saying I can understand him being ready to defend himself.

I get and appreciate DeMeco standing by his players and the play itself wasn't nearly as bad as everyone thinks but man, it sure sucks that he has to defend such a dumbass.

He can defend him all he wants. This is the second incident where Demeco has blamed opposing players for his own player being out of control.

It would be difficult to find a current or former NFL player that hasn't given an unsportsmanlike hit, penalized or not. It's a rough game and sometimes too rough.

You're right. I don't understand why you need to post this over 50 times, but you're right. Al-Shaair gave a dirty hit and he (and his team) have been punished severley. But fake slides in the past have occurred and are in some defenders minds. And while Lawrence's slide was not too late, it was late. Could and should Al-Shaair have broke off the tackle and not led with a forearm? Yes and yes.
Hasn't this been litigated enough? The punishment has been laid out. There's nothing more to learn here.
Blaming the QB for sliding is asinine. It wasn’t anywhere near late and is just another excuse that good teams don’t make.

Crazy to think a professional athlete moving at full speed should be able to stop on a dime to accommodate the rules. I rewatched the play and Trevor took his time sliding in an effort to get a few extra yards instead of going down immediately. Azeez has 1 unnecessary roughness penalty all season and it was the hit on Trevor. Continued disregard for the game is just silly. He plays fast, tough and hard. This idea he’s a dirty player is silly

5 yards closes in a heart beat on that field. With two ppl going towards each other I’m sure it’s less than half a sec. That’s why Trevor is injured majority of the times, he doesn’t make wise decisions on the field
QB slide all do the time with that distance and are fine.
