This is the biggest difference.
Honestly, the only real difference I saw was the defense playing with a lead in the 2nd half.
Plus the implemented some up tempo no huddle on a few series.Good idea to rewatch the game.
Mind you, it's pretty much the same playbook.
But they pick out the plays that emphasize getting the ball out of the hand of the QB quicker.
Did you enjoy watching today's game or last week's more? Watching the Texans is only for enjoyment, nothing more. All Wins are equal. If you didn't enjoy the win, that's fine. I did enjoy it. At least now we have something to look forward to each week.Everyone knows the Jags are bad. Relax high speed, don’t hurt yourself patting yourself on the back.
Are you saying it was better play calling? I'm thinking the Jags are that bad, especially today missing three of their best defenders & their only starting DB getting ejected. This is the biggest difference.
No 3 and out.
Must be the first time in the entire time BOB was here.
Maybe Bmac should take another week off, Adams seems to deserve more PTTyrell Adams started in place of McKinney. He had a career high and team high 13 tackles, with a TFL.
Given that the playbook is the same, that's all an OC can do.Are you saying it was better play calling? I'm thinking the Jags are that bad, especially today missing three of their best defenders & their only starting DB getting ejected.
I do remember checking the clock 1st time they went sugar huddle. I thought I missed the 1st half.Plus the implemented some up tempo no huddle on a few series.
They should have beaten Minnesota last week too, but it was a blessing in disguise they lost or else we would have seen similar plays today like last week. Are you saying it was better play calling? I'm thinking the Jags are that bad, especially today missing three of their best defenders & their only starting DB getting ejected.

I would have like to see even fewer runs on first down though.
How do you figure they should have beaten Minnesota? They should have beaten Minnesota last week too,
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone.
I will have to look this week at the All 22 and compare to last week and the week before, but I disagree. To me it seemed like route combinations were simplified and quicker. That's what I'm saying, play calling didn't look much different to me. Just worked more which leads me to believe it was more a result of the Jags being that bad.

I don’t think this can be stated enough. From the leaks and reports this week it was apparent OB was not just a cancer in the locker room but in the organization as a whole. You can get away with the asshole act for a while. Eventually, it starts having the opposite effect and people start to shut down on you. If it gets bad enough they start looking for subtle ways to undermine your efforts. It looks like that was case here. This team is better without OB at HC. What that leads to, I don’t know. But I feel like they have a better chance to win games now.
Maybe I should have said “could”, but the offense seemed like they had a plan today instead of the old “let me see what looks good on the menu today” offense we saw for the first 4 games. How do you figure they should have beaten Minnesota?
They should have done better on offense... yeah. If that's what you're saying, good point.
I think where most people are finding joy in this win is how much better the team looks by the pure play calling and players playing hard. Additionally, we all can acknowledge how much better this JAGS team would have looked with OB the HC.
It all adds to the excitement.
Honestly, the only real difference I saw was the defense playing with a lead in the 2nd half.
Jags 20 rushes 75 yds.
Texans D held on 2 big 4th down conversions besides the 2 fumble recoveries.
Big step up.
No, it was a concerted effort. The game plan is definitely quick strikes. That's what I'm saying, play calling didn't look much different to me. Just worked more which leads me to believe it was more a result of the Jags being that bad.
This game is more like going back to the basic.I'm not sure we really saw too much today, other than playing without O'Brien being a drag on the players. The offensive plays and selection went back a step to our most base options. The Jags were apparently exactly who we needed to eff everything up on their end and let the team get stronger up as the game went on.
I didn't watch as deeply as I used to when I cared (pre-O'Brien), nor will I review tape, but there were some things of note. Watson's mechanics have predictably gotten worse thanks to bad coaching and worse offenses - masked by talent (a LOT of talent). His second interception was his tendency to unnecessarily throw off his front foot - instead of planting and driving the ball outside for a long completion he was forward and the the ball carried high and inside. A hidden (and wildly important) positive is Watson's command pre-snap, he's out of the huddle fast, immediate in no-huddle decisions - but never rushed. Receivers and backs need an Andy Reid style of spread West Coast style offense - our current talent is built wide (with TE's breaking games), not forward. Our offensive line coach (forget his name) needs to be fired before our competent tackles decline too far, and our interior collapses further ... as a whole they're not good, but there is at least backup potential with a real scheme and coaching. Runningbacks are blind, no fixing that. Secondary talent is Reid as a starter with Roby at #2CB at best. Cunningham is solid. Line is inconsistent at best - still at the mercy of positioning. Watt is a 3-4 defensive end (more so as he gets old - his 'give up' chasing the quarterback hurt me) and Mercilus is a 3-4 strong linebacker.
This game is more like going back to the basic.
Didn't see Scharping todayDid Kelemete beat out Scharping ?
Did Kelemete beat out Scharping ?
Oh No .... that rather limits the choices for the draft !Yes, Sharping was benched last week
...
Hehe... he said draftOh No .... that rather limits the choices for the draft !
Hehe... he said draft
I know .... way, way too early .... come to think of it, that was more of a flinch or knee jerk response to the endless parade of trades .... that literally - forced bad words - from my mouth !!
Yes, Sharping was benched last week

I think he performed just as well as Martin and Fulton. Are we benching them to?
I was about to launch into a tirade on perennial contenders and how you know the names of the QB and OL because they're always there, because they are very good and dependable from the time you draft them to the time they retire .... but, I'm proud that I have the intestinal fortitude not to go there .... just yet !!

Bench the whole lot of them for all I care...only one if consider keeping is Tunsil.
I think schematicaly they can get better. But they are not superior talents.
I'll help you, I must be a buttchin apologist and should deal with it.
And that's not to mention how many bad passes in critical times Menshew was credited with. Men wide open.......with the ball sailing, digging into the ground or being thrown nowhere within a catchable radius. With even just decent Jags QB play, the score and very possibly the result would have been much different. Are you saying it was better play calling? I have no idea why you caught the hell you did for pointing out when watt got handled, but whatever. You do your thing doc. I'm a fan.
