The Actual and Real 2017 Texans Talk Mock Draft Extravaganza

Denver signed 2 NT's in FA but still need DE depth and Cak originally posted McDowell who is off the board. I think a guy like Tanoh Kpassagnon (DE, Villanova) is a good fit for them. Fits the same athletic profile as McDowell.

Agreed

Denver's pick is official. They select Tanoh Kpassagnon - DE, Villanova.

@mussop is on the clock. @steelbtexan has his pick so if he gets back on we'll knock out two in a row pretty quickly.

With the 84th pick in TT Mock Draft the Tampa Bay bucaneers select Derek Rivers DE Youngstown St.

The bucs need another pass rusher to compliment Spence. If Rivers had gone to Alabama he would have been a 1st rd pick. He's just as good as Tim Williams if not better for instance. IMHO

Sorry for the delay. Got caught up on work

The Vikings are looking for depth and rotational guys from this point forward in the draft. Chad Greenway retired this offseason and his replacement (Emmanuel Lamur) is a question mark that they would like to upgrade. Coach Zimmer loves linebackers and will be looking for someone to push Lamur for the starting WLB position or rotational play and depth.

Vikings select: OLB Duke Riley, LSU

Fastest 40 time at the combine for LB’s of 4.58 is a plus at the weak side and he showed improved instincts and angles as he steadily progressed as a player with relatively little experience. Should be a solid ST’s player immediately and may compete for playing time.

@Porky is on the clock -- 3 (87) NY Giants
@banned1976 is on deck -- 3 (88) Oakland

Giants have missed both of their picks so we are group picking them. So far they have...

1) Ryan Ramczyk - OT, Wisconsin
2) Evan Engram - TE, Ole Miss

Their biggest remaining needs are LB, DT, and QB. I nominate Dalvin Tomlinson (DT, Alabama) as they need to find a replacement run stuffer for Johnathan Hankins.

Studied him for my dt pick and he was 2nd on my list to ogunjobi -- I 3rd. Plus, he just looks like he would be good:

Houston Texans are now on the clock with their 3rd round pick. Draft so far...

1) Deshaun Watson - QB, Clemson
2) Taylor Moton - OT/OG, Western Michigan

Like to kick the group pick off by vehemently nominating ...

Tyus Bowser, LB, Houston -

Versatile, athletic, quick-twitch, mobile, aggressive. Line him up opposite Mercilus and he can rush the QB, cover backs and TEs, keep Clowney's hand in the dirt, and can slide inside in sub-packages. He's still raw, sure, but we're in the third here and ultimately this kid could be a swiss-army chess piece for Vrabel and RAC to mold and set loose.

I could definitely get on board with this pick.

He's what the Texans defense is missing. I think he can play ILB and a McKinney/Bowser ILB tandem would make the LB corps awesome. Bowser also would be an upgrade over Simon if Vrabel decided to go that direction.

There are also a lot of starting level CB's/S available.

I nominate Bucky Hodges. I don't think the Texans need to come out of this draft with a TE but this is a ridiculous steal. It's a crime this guy is still on the board.

He was in my top three left for the Texans for this pick. Nutty that he's hanging around this long.

Nonetheless, still voting for Bowser. All around weapon on d that would fill out the front seven.

Ironically, Bowser is my #2 at this selection.

Seems kind of one-sided...

Bowser (7) - Mollywhopper, steelbtexan, TheRealJoker, TexansSeminole, banned1976, bah007, WolverineFan

Anybody else care to weigh in?

What are you guys thinking at strong safety? Are we ok w/ Pleasant and Dillon? Need to be addressed later in the draft? I would agree that OLB is probably at the top of the list for needs position, but I'd be interested in hearing you guys' thoughts on what the next hightest need is and who might be able to fill that role in the draft.

Honestly there all good picks, I'll vote for Hodges and hope for a late surge

It's safety on my list of needs.

Who's left at safety Josh Harvey Clemons is intriguing, then there's john Johnson, Tedric Thompson, Lorenzo Jerome

I have to be somewhere so have to bow out -- certainly ok w/ Bowser, I was just interested to get thoughts on safety and if you feel it's best to wait or OLB is that much more of a need right now.

Bowser is a better OLB than any of the safeties left, there's been quite a run, Hodges is as good of a prospect, however there's still 3 or 4 TEs left Butt, Kittle, Leggett, Sprinkle even Smith. For OLB only Derek Rivers compares, but Bowser has a very rare athleticism.

I'm ok with the LB.

Can I just ask if anyone has a high rated 3-4 DE on the board??

I'm nervous as frick about Watt and would like to consider cover.

I like Hodges's he was my back up to Shaheen.

Deatrich Wise would be good. Daeshon Hall as well.

I've done this many times and probably will again this yr.

We seem to be making pretty good time now that all of the non participants have been weeded out.
