Wonder why Lovie didn't want to play him?True. Now find me one play similar to or even half the distance from a backup RB on the Texans.
Shhhhh. You're going to give away Lovie's competitive advantage. This team has absolutely nothing to play for right now. Bench Pierce and Green and don't let them get hurt any further.
The Broncos running the Shanahan WCO made Peyton Hillis a star for a couple of years.Would have been nice to have a decent backup RB. Especially, when Pierce went out. Anyone see Marlon Mack?
Complete embarrassment!
...for my Cowboys to struggle this much against the Texans
My Cowboys friend was texting me like "Who's this Pitre guy? He's amazing!" Had to explain we've been waiting for that performance all season.Complete embarrassment!

And Lovie finally turned him looseMy Cowboys friend was texting me like "Who's this Pitre guy? He's amazing!" Had to explain we've been waiting for that performance all season.
Finally coaches moved him from strong to free safetyAnd Lovie finally turned him loose
Only took them 2/3 of the season to figure that out. Finally coaches moved him from strong to free safety
Chiefs will basically sleepwalk thru this game………& still beat us by 20.The Chiefs will never know what hit 'em.

Cowboys fan?Complete embarrassment!

they did that a few weeks backFinally coaches moved him from strong to free safety
About time! Pitre doesn't play big enough to play in the tackle box as SS. Had me doubts he could be a good cover guy, but he's showing that ability and he can really lay the wood on smaller receivers and let his A+ instincts for the game take over! Clearly this is where he belongs. Finally coaches moved him from strong to free safety
Just another example of Houston coaches playing guys out of position. Finally coaches moved him from strong to free safety
In all fairness, Pitre was known for making plays in the box in college and less on his coverage skills. Makes total sense why coaches used him this way to start his career. However, Pitre was getting bounced often in there and was certainly a big part of the horrible run defense we've had all year. Players in the NFL are bigger and stronger than college and I guess it took time to figure out Pitre was overmatched playing at the LOS... Thankfully, looks like he's got great instincts for the ball, hands and cover skills so looks like a long term guy at FS has been found.Just another example of Houston coaches playing guys out of position.
As with all college football players the coaches just play them where it is best for that team not necessarily what is the best position for the player in the NFL. Petrie should not have been playing in the Box for Baylor either. In all fairness, Pitre was known for making plays in the box in college and less on his coverage skills. Can't fault coaches at all here though. Just took time to find this out.
I'm not at all liking this coaching staff. But this seems like a bit of a nitpick. I mean, sometimes it just takes time to find out where a player is best suited to play. At least they got it right. And wasn't Pitre an All-American defensive player at Baylor? I think he was suited just fine there. Just not so much in the NFL, which has been remedied. As with all college football players the coaches just play them where it is best for that team not necessarily what is the best position for the player in the NFL. I think that Pitre will show himself in another way. When I watch him play, it looks to me like he needs to be given more room to play. Not very long at all. With Pitre's size and playing style. When he was in the box, I wondered how long his career would last. With him at FS and in the right system that will allow him to use his natural instincts, he might become a Tyrann Mathieu type player.
He was great playing there in college. This is not college.Petrie should not have been playing in the Box for Baylor either.
yes he is a free safety who despite his small size brings the boom. It is like wasting a cover corner playing zone..I think that Pitre will show himself in another way. When I watch him play, it looks to me like he needs to be given more room to play. That's just the way it looks to me.
I've watched two and felt instant shame and regret upon the realization I had wasted my afternoon on such a garage product.Serious question….
Just from my own curiosity, how many folks here have watched every game this season? ‘Mostly’ every snap?
Unfortunately I will admit I've watched much more Houston Texans football than I should have.Serious question….

I watched maybe the first three games all season. They’re just so uninspiring that I outright avoided the games and watched mainly Red Zone which can make you feel even worse watching other competent teams and coaches.Unfortunately I will admit I've watched much more Houston Texans football than I should have.
