Texans random thought of the day

All Bama linebackers, pretty sure that excludes Metchie
The team labeled it as Alabama Football
🤝
Texans defense...I'm just :stirpot:. it's the offseason

Would be nice if at least one of our RBs could consistently punch rock in from 3-4 yards. I see many more more snaps from <5 yards this season and I don't want them to be "well we can't get 6.. bring in the 3 point guy.."

With a little help Mixon can be this guy.

LB K.C. Ossai
DT Junior Tafuna

Please NFL and media Broadcasts don't screw the Texans schedule this time. For example last year 14 weeks playing before the last bye. I imagine that makes a difference in playing 14 games straight. It opens more physique and injuries imho then by end of season it all mounted up but it was too late.

Game one Denver at Houston...????
Is that a rumor or a guess?

Normally, I would agree. But that bye was just before the 3 games in 11 days stretch. That week 14 bye was absolutely needed.

I'm looking forward to when they go to the 18 game schedule they have 2 byes and that will stretch the season out to where the SB is played on Presidents day Sunday.

God'ells changed everything else in the league, how about moving the SB to Saturday?

Who are the Texans Most Valuable Players? Not necessarily “best” players in the ranking…. but who would have the greatest impact on whether the team wins or loses if they are out of a game?

CJ is the obvious #1.

Nico #2 because we have seen what happens when he’s out. Losing the top target hamstrings the offense mightily (Noah Brown appearances notwithstanding).

Then it’s a tossup between Stingley and one of the edges (Anderson/Hunter would both be a huge loss). But i’ll give the nod to Stingley due to scarcity… harder to replace CB1 than it is the top edge when DeMeco has shown to be able to get production from DL at all levels of the depth chart.

So if I were ranking my top 5 Most Valuable Texans it’d be:

1) CJ
2) Nico
3) Stingley
4) Anderson
5) Hunter

How about you?

But if I were ranking the “best” players on the team. Meaning most talented and where they are ranked relative to their position in the NFL:

1) Stingley = CB1 in the NFL I don’t care who won DPOY.

2) Nico = Top 3 WR when it comes to how much trouble he is for DCs to gameplan for… Chase/Jefferson would be the others.

3) Anderson = This one is a bit of projection, but I think he ascends into a bonafide top 5 edge rusher this season.

4) Hunter = A bonafide top 10 edge. I don’t see him rising above or below that top 8-10 in the league level of play this season

5) Stroud = I almost put Lassiter here. But I think both are fringe top 10 at their position currently. I’ll give it to CJ so I don’t have to defend the hot take too much haha

Yes cool but it would be better imho to have the bye more around mid season time. It sure was also needed then as opposed to later. I venture most teams want it that way but you can't do all teams. So point with a schedule favor don't give Texans another late bye this time. Rotation would be nice and yes Texas deserve more in clout, respect, audience, and media stance with the schedule. Of course the best consistent teams usually take precedence or in other words the teams that bring in the national ratings and moooolah! lol

Saw this earlier and was going to post it. However, the writer is always stirring the pot and I think that's all this article is.

Reporting, sure. Prognosticating?

"The Texans will be fighting to clinch the division in Week 18," wrote Bien-Aime. "Each team in the AFC South has added talent, while the Texans have a first place schedule. So, it's not guaranteed the Texans will run away with the division like they did in 2024. The field has closed the gap on Houston."

Added talent? Colts added Daniel Jones. The Jags added a first time head coach. The Titans added a rookie QB. If I'm the Texans, I'm shaking in my cleats. Not.

Kick the tires. So we have the best 5 OL players we can get starting day 1.

Wills has been dealing with a severe knee bone bruise since 2023 when he also required repair of a complete tear of his MCL. Most bone bruises heal within weeks, some a couple of months, without any problems. If the bone bruise is very large, the body may have trouble getting blood flow back to the area. This is the case with Wills. The blood flow problems led to death of part of the bone and articular cartilage above it. Now being bone on bone, his best option is retirement.

Yes, I wasn't aware of the bone bruise,, just the MCL. He should call it a career
