What's with the reverse imaging?
Good question, I don’t have a clueWhat's with the reverse imaging?
Mental Illness or Depression? Maybe he's realizing that he just can't cut it anymore, and is depressed. He has been designated as NF-Injury list as well as NF-illness list. No indication that he has suffered an injury outside of football. No indication that he has been stricken by an illness outside of football(as was Metchie). So why is he designated either of these?
Hmmmm.....I wonder if the Texans would be better this year with McCown as the HC. I don't think we'd be as conservative as we've been.

He might make rookie decisions like Hackett in Denver that make the fans take over clock management for him. Or he might be the next Sean Mcvay like everyone searches for… just like franchise QB the franchise HCs are hard to find.
You have offered one explanation. But for gods sakes yes that guy is suffering from some form of mental distress. I’ve seen it in his interviews and clips of his actions on the field. I’ve believed for a looooong time that he has mental issues just from his looks. god bless him but I believe we should give him his space going forward. I live in a military heavy area with PTSD as common as breathing and I know that look. Texans are doing the right thing by deflecting questions about him and any dumbass reporter asking questions about him should be castigated.Mental Illness or Depression? I didn't say anything about having the reporters asking about him. I think he should be left alone. While he's out, we get a chance to develop other players, and find his replacement. I didn't think he had much longer in the NFL anyway. You have offered one explanation. But for gods sakes yes that guy is suffering from some form of mental distress. It would make more sense for him to be a QB coach then OC for a few years firstFrom what everybody says, McCown is great working with QB's and supposedly would be a great playcaller. Look at what Pederson is doing with the Jags, although the defense is carrying that team.
Never implied you did. I actually was adding to what you said and I was in full agreement with your post.I didn't say anything about having the reporters asking about him. Takes too long. We should make him our HC for 6 years & help him become a good coach for his next teamIt would make more sense for him to be a QB coach then OC for a few years first
That only works when he's been a coach on several SB winning teams firstTakes too long. We should make him our HC for 6 years & help him become a good coach for his next team
Pederson also got fired from the Eagles where they questioned if Reich was really the one behind his offensive success. When he was the Giants OC, Sean Payton got stripped of his play calling duties. My point is that coaches with better offensive resumes and experience have failed, and I don't get how or why Texans fans just assume McCown's experience as a player automatically translate to a successful HC. After watching last night's game and his play calling, what makes McCown different or better than Kellen Moore? From what everybody says, McCown is great working with QB's and supposedly would be a great play caller. Look at what Pederson is doing with the Jags, although the defense is carrying that team.
Huh?Hmmmm.....I wonder if the Texans would be better this year with McCown as the HC.
Sean McVay was an NFL assistant for 8 years prior to getting his 1st HC job. And some thought at the time that it was too soon. Hackett has coached for 20 years, an NFL OC for 8 seasons. How is it possible to compare these guys to freakin' Josh McCown? He might make rookie decisions like Hackett in Denver that make the fans take over clock management for him. Who says that? How could they possibly know? From what everybody says, McCown is great working with QB's and supposedly would be a great playcaller.
I can understand wanting McCown as a QB coach. However, I will never understand the fascination with making McCown a HC. I'm still waiting on an answer to what makes McCown a better HC candidate than former QBs Kellen Moore or even Ken Dorsey?Huh?

How the &%*! did McCown re-enter the conversation? Jack Easterby strikes again.
Just responding to CND's quote of a twitter post. I don't think McCown would be better as a HC. However, as an OC, he might be better than what Pep is showing. To be honest, I thought the whole McCown for HC think was a smokescreen. I never thought he was actually being considered.Huh?

Houston Texans secondary have missed 17 tackles on 71 opportunities this season. Worst in NFL
Texans defense has allowed a Completion Pct of just 36% in the red zone this season. 3rd-best in NFL; League Avg: 54%
These stats point out the issues wrong with the team and most of this has to do with lack of talent. Frankly it amazes me that the Texans should have won all 3 games with those stats. Leading the league in rush yds given up and missed tackles doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. Not to mention the highest WR drop rate and no TD passes caught. Mills or any other QB needs more talent to work with. Metchie getting back next yr will help. I'm on board with trading Cooks at the deadline for a 2nd/3rd rd pick. Creates more cap space.
More than ever I am convinced we need more pressure on the opposing QB - watching sophomore Micah Parsons this season should convince any real student of the game.

BTW. Any offensive coach you hire has success working with QBs. For example, look at Nathaniel Hackett's resume. He's had success working with QBs, as an OC and play caller. He gets a HC job and is now the butt of jokes. You never know about these coaching hires.

Is it going to happen for some guy? McCown seems pretty confident. He has picked the brain of Steve Nash, the longtime NBA star who became the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets in 2020 without ever having coached at any level. “Their world is a little different than ours, but hearing his thoughts on making that jump was interesting,” McCown says. “It’s going to happen for some guy in the NFL.”
Here are some positive quotes on McCown becoming an NFL coach:I've seen several different coaches and GM's that said McCown should be able to step right into the NFL as a QB coach or OC after retiring.
“I had been in football all my life and could recognize people that genuinely love the game,” Parcells said. “With Josh’s persistence as a player and the way he approached his job, I could tell he was very passionate about football — he loved football. Then you consider he’s a bright guy, and he’s been with a lot of different coaches. All of that could serve him well in coaching.”
“He was able to pull things out of me in an encouraging way, which bodes well for him to be a successful coach,” Wentz says. “Coaches can demand a lot, but they can do it with a sense of love and encouragement. I can see that from him. In this league, a loss can feel like the world is going to end, but he always reminded me how fun this is and how much of a blessing this is. He is a really good friend I look up to as a man, not just a football player.”
“When you’re around Josh, you see his ability to relate with everyone on the team and help your culture,” Roseman says. “He makes your organization better.”
“I think the preference would probably be to get some applied experience in terms of coaching in a position room,” Ballard says. “But look, if anybody could make the jump and do it, he could. If he was successful doing it, I wouldn’t say that’s a shock. Josh is a really special guy.”
Don't get your panties in a wad, he will never be the HC of the Texans due to his connection to Easterby.
That stats are meaningless without context. Lowest passer rating allowed in Week 3! Right, by the worst passer in the NFL. It's an accomplishment to lose to a QB having the worst day of his less than mediocre career. These stats point out...
5 dropped passes in 3 games (107 attempts) isn't a big problem. These stats point out the issues wrong with the team and most of this has to do with lack of talent. They just dropped 38 on the boltsFrom what everybody says, McCown is great working with QB's and supposedly would be a great playcaller. Look at what Pederson is doing with the Jags, although the defense is carrying that team.
Gardner Minshew would've won those gamesThese stats point out the issues wrong with the team and most of this has to do with lack of talent. Has Minshew ever won a game with his RBs avg 3.2 ypc?Gardner Minshew would've won those games![]()
All jokes aside. Minshew playing on some terrible Jags team still threw for 37 TDs with only 11 INTs.Gardner Minshew would've won those games![]()
Talent? I thought you were a proponent of not having a #1 WR because it takes away a young QB's blanket and makes them grow by spreading the ball around? I guess this is what happens when a young QB has a good #2 WR and a bunch of JAGs to throw to?These stats point out the issues wrong with the team and most of this has to do with lack of talent. Is that starting like Neville Hewitt or KGH?The Texans have unofficially listed Cashman as starting linebacker,

Maybin I would thinkHow is he replacing?
See, thats what I'm saying. He's a gamer too, doesn't play scared. If you want to win games, develop players but still be in position to draft a qb for the future. Minshew would wipe the floor with Mills. He had poise even as a 7th rd rookie and won 6 games as a rookie. All jokes aside. Minshew playing on some terrible Jags team still threw for 37 TDs with only 11 INTs.
It only applies to Watson. The only qb in the nfl who can't have a #1 is Watson. Stafford had Megatron and Kupp, both of whom had historic seasons, but that doesn't countTalent?
