But Texas puts more players into the NFL than any other state
Higher 3rd round pick.Of all the ways to lose a football game ....
We can get a WR/ corner and a OG/C in our first three picks. Free agency should offer some options however with salary cap possibly being more in line with my view of $200m rather than 175, that may not be as fruitful as many have predicted. I'm looking at Fuller more as bringing us a 3rd comp than extending him. His 11 games of good stats should bring that if we don't negate with a FA signing = to him. I could use another round three.Forget about using what little firepower the Texans have in Draft picks on Olinemen, because what we need is defense, what we need in the worst way, is defensive football players.
.
So is it wrong for me to hope that Martin is suspended for the rest of the season due to PEDs? The two million savings for the rest of the year would just about pay off his dead money next year so we can be gone from him.

I am already researching for a new mock.
IIRC suspensions do not effect GTD $. I wonder if Texans don't want him back that they fine him for stupidity unbecoming of a Texans player. That might void his guaranteed money for next year ....
Correct. If we lose Fuller and it does bring a 3rd rnd comp pick, it won't be until 2022
Got to look on the positive sideHigher 3rd round pick.
I agree. I hate losing, but we need to lose out to ensure everyone gets fired and we get a high pick in round 3.As I mentioned in an older post....don't worry about where this season positions the Dolphins in the 2021 NFL Draft. My biggest concern is where the Texans position themselves starting in RD3 and after of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Sure I would've enjoyed watching the Texans win out and maybe get into the playoffs but in all reality, they're not a playoff caliber team and would've only made a bad situation worse by picking further back in RD3. This team needs a bad 2021 NFL Draft to really work out on the positive side of the ledger.
They played the Titans & the Colts to the wire. I've never agreed with this. Once you get used to losing, it's a long road back. If the front office guys are ok with losing out, you're looking at 10 years, not 3 or 4.I agree. I hate losing, but we need to lose out to ensure everyone gets fired and we get a high pick in round 3.

For the most part Texans have been an 8 - 8 team. When they played teams above .500, they usually got out coached. They played the Titans & the Colts to the wire. If those two are play off teams, we're a playoff team.
But... even I have given up on playoff hopes. 8-8 is not going to get it this year.
Good thing the front office will be wiped out this year.I've never agreed with this. Once you get used to losing, it's a long road back. If the front office guys are ok with losing out, you're looking at 10 years, not 3 or 4.

Culture is a top down thing. Has to start with Cal. Like you said, until Cal wants to win a Super Bowl, we ain't winning no Super Bowl.2. There's a new regime (Because there will be new players and winning doesn't really matter as far as setting a culture.)
let us not rush too quickly concerning the salary cap as recent information shows the cap may be closer to 200 million than 175. That does not include players who could be traded or cut adding cap space. The good thing about this season....when it's over everyone is gone from the FO. In my estimation, if the Texans want to correct their cap....about 12 starters need to be traded or cut in the off-season. So all this current round of losing will be exiting at seasons end. 2021 will be a new chapter and it'll be up to the FO, coaches and players to determine how the first chapter starts.
Hansen back to the practice squad. What would cause that move? Dude deserves a look and playing time. So the WRs now are cooks, coutee, coulter.... is Cobb coming back from IR???
Mitchell went back to the PS also. Are you serious? Wow
Well, right now they really have no choice but to play a young guy. It's got to be either Hansen or Coulter. I've seen them bring Prosise up and down like that before. I don't know why they have to do it like that, but if nothing changes this week, I'd expect Hansen to be activated again for the Bears.Apparently, it wasn't just OB - this entire organization has a problem with letting young guys play. I thought, Hansen especially, earned the right to see more playing time. Hopefully this is just roster shenanigans and they are brought back?
Damn...I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that at pick #9 there would have been several choices of NEED for the Texans available. As it currently stands, the Miami Dolphins own the 9th overall pick in the 2021 draft from the Texans.

They might be able to get a good return too if they decide to trade down, so many options for themDamn...I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that at pick #9 there would have been several choices of NEED for the Texans available.
Who the hell been voting Zach cunningham for the pro bowl?![]()
Reactions to the post above - anger, sadness, and laughter. I wonder what the reaction will be now that I write this...As it currently stands, the Miami Dolphins own the 9th overall pick in the 2021 draft from the Texans.
Had to happen. If BO'b didn't make that trade, he'd still be here.Reactions to the post above - anger, sadness, and laughter. I wonder what the reaction will be now that I write this...
Kenny Stills - 10 games, 11 rec, 144 yards, 1 TD
Chad Hansen - 3 games, 14 rec, 212 yards, 1 TD
It was part of a trade.Hopefully, this finally convinces the remaining Texans fanbase that signing over-the-hill has-beens is a stupid idea. Not like we really needed to learn that lesson yet again.
To be fair to stills, he was playing when our whole recieving core was healthy and available.Kenny Stills - 10 games, 11 rec, 144 yards, 1 TD
Chad Hansen - 3 games, 14 rec, 212 yards, 1 TD
Interestingly enough, Stills was drafted in the 5th round, Hansen in the 4th.Kenny Stills - 10 games, 11 rec, 144 yards, 1 TD

I only saw Watson and Tunsil on the list today..HOUSTON we have Pro Bowlers!Who the hell been voting Zach cunningham for the pro bowl?![]()
With JJ Watt starting every game (so far).I only saw Watson and Tunsil on the list today..HOUSTON we have Pro Bowlers!
As we continue to dig out of this mess and we’re constantly reminded how bad it is at just about every position (and coaching) on this team I can only continue to direct my disdain, dismay and anger directly at ownership.True, but that doesn’t change the fact that they traded away a 2nd for a guy making 1 catch per game, or that they went and spent $9M per for Cobb. Or the 2nd and the huge money for Cooks for that matter when you figure Hansen is on a pace for over 1,100 yards with Cooks at about 1,030 yard pace at the moment.
Thats weird on the nfl site, they had cunningham with over 70k votes for ILB?I only saw Watson and Tunsil on the list today..HOUSTON we have Pro Bowlers!

How does anyone as an NFL owner(s) become so absentee, so gullible, so trusting and just hand the keys to someone like BOB and JE?? How do you let someone wreck your franchise into the ground and you stand by idle until you’re FORCED to make a move. I fear that those characteristics I listed above will still be there. My god they better get the GM right. This can never happen again but with this ownership....
Janice was responsible? Wasn't it reported last year or the year before that OB wanted to trade Hopkins but Gaine shot it down?Momma was behind the Hopkins trade. So maybe they aren't as hands off as you think. I've been saying this since 2010. Some called me crazy back then and are just starting to see the light.

But the GM always reported to him. The HC always reported to him. He didn't do a good job managing that relationship & I believe was the biggest failure of Texans history. He seemed to feed the animosity that ended up playing out on the field & ruining that product.
