Texans random thought of the day

Putting this here because he is Mr Texans, screw what anyone says! He's still doing his thing in the community. Bring AJ home and retire #80.

Andre Johnson does it again...$19,144.58 spent on toys for kids in Houston this morning. Love this.

Call me sentimental because I am but I enjoy hearing about anything like this to help folks especially children. Careful or I will break out "We are the world..we are the children"

I'm very cold hearted but I too share your sentiment. My girl says I'm great with babies and old people, everyone else...not so much.

know what you mean; as a Christian I have worked very hard to not be cold with other adults. I worked with kids and older folks in psych units; amazing the number of both who are just thrown away by their families. Another thing that PO me, is people saying "that person is rich so it does not mean as much to give..". That is just stupid. Ask the person getting the food or clothes or a bill paid or a toy.

Andre you are a good man. I think it's just a coincidence that when I saw the story on abc13 someone must've been cooking with onions.

You know what I like most about that AJ pic? He's rocking the old school Florida Marlins hat. I remember going to Joe Robbie Stadium their first year to catch a Marlins game.

Hypothetical scenario:
Texans continue to embrace mediocrity and the fans attendance wanes over the next couple of seasons.
Do you think McNair would move the team to say, San Antonio?

San Antonio is de-facto Dallas as is most of Texas as far as fans.

Never happen. There's a waiting list that's maybe 15,000 - 20,000 or more. Now fans might not show up and the stadium will be half empty like it was in '05, but those empty seats are still bought and paid for.

There is a non-relocation agreement in the 30 year lease between the Texans and the County Sports Authority. I'm not saying there isn't a legal way around it should the circumstances cause McNair to decide he wants to move, but I'm pretty sure that in order for the circumstances to be worth it, it would take far far more than a couple of seasons of waning attendance.

Put another way, after being burned by Bud and the Oilers, Harris County wanted to make sure they did everything they could to legally prevent the Texans from moving prior to the 30 year expiration date of the lease, and they have specific legal remedies available to them that not only force the team to continue to pay rent, but legally obligate the team to play NFL football in that stadium.

The circumstances that would allow McNair to move the team might be described as apocalyptic.

15 years in to that 30 year deal. Reminds me of the 30 day diet I'm about halfway through. So far I've lost 15 days.

I can't believe we beat the Chiefs this year........or the Lions, for that matter.
Getting wins early I the season is always a bonus. there's so much turnover season to season very few teams have it all together that early.

Every team strives to get better as the year progresses, at the same time they are dealing with injuries, personalities, & what not.

Losing three in a row at the beginning of the season isn't as troubling (to me) as losing three in a row at this time in the season. This is who we are & we've got to find ways to win games with this team.

I think injuries has taken a real toll on this team. That we have done as well as we have has surprised me with as many key players that have went down.

yes bad choices and injuries to draft picks have stopped us from having depth. We've lost good players in B. Williams & Quessenberry for example at OT. Choices would be Bergstrum.

Before PSLs, fans holding season tickets could voice their displeasure by not renewing and those without could just stop going......sending a strong message to the owner. PSLs in my opinion have made the owners lazy.........and ruined the quality of the game.

Hey Doc why are you up so late? No surgery in morning? JK. Agree with your post.

The Texans have scored ONLY 20 Touchdowns this year. The ONLY team worse than that, the Rams with 19. Putrid!

According to NFL.com, we've thrown 14 TDs like the Bengals & Seahawks. Bears, Browns, Rams, Vikings, Jets, Eagles, & Bill's have thrown less.

We (like the Lions) only have 4 rushing TDs.

At halftime the Pack is up 21-3 on the Seahawks. I think that shows what our team is, especially defensively.

That game is most likely over if it were our offense & that shows what our team is offensively. Now Russell Wilson may not beable to dig them out of that hole, but we know it's possible.

My point is that some of us were gloating about doing other things last week instead of watching the game. some of us were talking about not even watching this game... & that's fine. But I think they would have missed a pretty good game today.

This is supposed to be fun & entertaining, but I think many of us were not able to enjoy what was a pretty good game because they focus too much on the QB. He's an issue, no doubt. But every team in the league has some issue right now & our defense magnifies those other team issues.

Kansas City & the Patriots are the only teams that concern me in the post season. Raiders, Broncos, Steelers... I think we can play with those teams.

Who's your daddy?

LAMAR MILLER OWNS THE COLTS
In two games vs. the Colts this season, Lamar Miller totaled 215 yards before contact, including 107 Sunday. Of the Texans' season-high 185 rush yards, 140 came before first contact, their most in the last five seasons. Their previous season-high was also against the Colts, in Week 6. (ESPN Stats & Info)

Look at that svelte Wilfork..if he weighs 325 (Texans roster) :woot2... dude has to weigh 360! It does seem RAC is keeping him has fresh as possible with rotating Reader. I like both playing together also. I thought groin injury would keep him off field longer.

Texans are the only team in the NFL that has a winning record with both a negative point differential and negative turnover ratio.

Wow, we have a really fast WR corps. Makes me feel confident that we will be able to chase down defensive backs after Os has thrown one of his patented interceptions.
I was thinking the Texans should switch their defensive backs and their receivers. Our receivers seem to stick to the opponents like glue, and our defensive backs seem to easily get separation. Hell, it just might work.

Our DB's can't catch...

... much better

Interesting stat on Brock's INT's:

Of his 6 picks in losses, only 1 has been converted into a score (1 TD). Outside of the SD game where he had 3 INT's (including the game ending hail mary and the converted TD), he has 3 INT's in the other 5 losses.

Of his 8 picks in wins, 5 have been converted into scores (3 TD's and 2 FG's).

One would think that those stats would be reversed.
