Texans random thought of the day

Hits you right in the feels...

I am just glad we let them go when we did.

So then, the Texans go WIN, LOSE, WIN the next three.
I take that in a minute!

After Brandon Dunn was released, he passed waivers without being picked up. He has now been re-signed to he Texans PS.
Yep no one wants our left overs but us.

Don Jones has essentially only been a STs player........a good one at that. He is probably more of a replacement for our LB turned Kicker/long snapper Peters than for safety. Although, it'll be interesting to see what Crennell has to say about it.

Wasn't the knock on him that he was always injured in college?

Just one of those guys who can't stay healthy it seems.
That's not really a fair characterization. He lost 2 full years of football..........after he sustained a "boxer's fracture" of his 3rd metacarpal bone...........he had a terrible very uncharacteristically long recovery before it was even discovered that he had serious smoldering staph infection at the original fracture site. Subsequent antibiotic treatment was long and arduous, as the Staph species was extremely resistant and the gross infection had embedded itself into the involved bone segments............he had essentially developed dreaded osteomyelitis.

I have yet to see anyone elaborate on the implications of O'Brien statement: "We called plays that he likes and he executed them with his teammates."

Does that mean Osweiler is only adept at executing the plays that he likes? Are O'Brien and Osweiler at odds on play calling strategy?

In context with the last three minutes of the game, the quote is a little unsettling.

I believe he was being flippant. Brock was playing well since the 6:55 mark in the 2nd qtr. There was no switch flipped in the 4th.

sorry guys, read this out of order. Let's hope we play from the lead tomorrow, I dont want Denver knowing we are going to pass or it would get ugly

Play calling has been atrocious.

Signing Jeff Adams, Texans also worked out linemen Josh Walker and Andrew Gardner on Wednesday, per a league source

So we lose a guy to two torn patellar tendons and replace him with a guy who tore one patellar tendon in 2014.Texans medical stuff must be looking for pointers on patellar tendons.

http://www.chron.com/sports/texans/article/Texans-place-Derek-Newton-on-IR-re-sign-Jeff-10415473.php
Adams, who came to the Texans in 2014 from the Tennessee Titans, was starting at guard early last season when he suffered a torn patellar tendon in his knee and was lost for the season.

Patrick Starr has pointed out that NT Ian Williams has be released by the 49er and we should at least have a look at him. He was released off of reserve/NFI with an injury settlement..............for a good reason............he has undergone 7 left ankle surgeries spread over 2013, 2014, and 2015.........with 2 since his 2015 injury.

Have a look see? I don't think so.

Methodist prayer healers will be able to fix him... :kitten:

We are at that difficult part of the season were you can see the team's potential, but you just can't believe in It. You see just enough to feel like this week might be that week they put it all together and turn it around, but you can't trust that feeling. So is the life of a Houston sports fan.

After how badly the STs have played recently, it is refreshing to find out that one of our stalwart STs players is recognized for his merits.

Sarah Barshop reports:

Texans punter Shane Lechler was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He had four punts that averaged 50.8 gross yards, and his average punt gave the Lions possession on their own 13, the best average opponents field position for a punter this week, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
