I'd assume he could make the odd throw, just not with any kind of frequency to put too much stress on his shoulder.
Was 1/1 for 3 yards as a senior, for whatever that's worth.
Iirc, he said he couldn't throw the deep ball or throw with power and accuracy any longer
"I knew after the last checkup that I wasn't ready for quarterback," he says. "I couldn't throw over 40 yards. I was throwing hard, about 70 mph, 20 yards. But I couldn't throw over 40 yards. There's no point in playing quarterback if you can't throw over 40 yards. It was devastating."
The quote about his throwing strength was made while he was still in rehab, sometime prior to June, 2015. Excellent read, though. Thanks. How Ohio State's Braxton Miller made the move from quarterback to wide receiver

Never heard that myself. And that isn't to say you're wrong, but I'd like to read that quote to see if the context pertains to any kind of one off attempt or if he means in terms of actually quarterbacking a team.
Confucious says "Those who are not on the Band Wagon, need to get off."

I'm expecting some Miller wildcat this year.
I'd out the over/under on Miller passes at 3.
I think Confusion should stick to fortune cookies and let folks cook how they want. You don't have to ride a wagon to get where you want to go.Confucius says "Those who are not on the Band Wagon, need to get off." "If you can't stand the heat or the spice, stop BBQing."
I don't remember where I saw it, or if I'm remembering correctly (remember I'm old) but I think I saw that when they were talking about why he switched. All I see now was that it would have taken a long time to get back to where he could and he wanted to play asap
But on Aug. 18, while cautiously testing his shoulder in preseason drills, he tossed a simple, short pass to a cutting receiver, no more than a flick of the wrist. "It popped out," Miller says of his shoulder. He had reinjured the labrum. "I have never felt pain like that in my life, and I never want to go through it again."

ARLINGTON - Although there was never any intention of playing starting offensive tackle Derek Newton in the Texans' preseason finale, the veteran blocker did show that he's made a sound recovery from his hamstring injury during drills before kickoff.
Newton was able to run with no visible signs of discomfort, moving well as he warmed up before sitting out the game.
Newton got hurt during the Texans' first day in full pads during training camp, missing the entire preseason before returning to practice this week.
Newton says he's now primed to return for the Texans' regular season opener against the Chicago Bears.
"It feels pretty good, man," Newton said. "Long overdue to be back. I got a little run in and it felt good. I'll definitely be back."
When do teams have to be at 53?
September 3: Prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, clubs must reduce rosters to a maximum of 53 players on the Active/Inactive List.
September 3: Simultaneously with the cut-down to 53, clubs that have players in the categories of Active/Physically Unable to Perform or Active/Non-Football Injury or Illness must select one of the following options: place player on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform or Reserve/Non-Football Injury or Illness, whichever is applicable; request waivers; terminate contract; trade contract; or continue to count the player on the Active List.
September 4: Claiming period for players placed on waivers at the final roster reduction will expire at 12:00 noon, New York time.
September 4: Upon receipt of the Personnel Notice at approximately 1:00 p.m., New York time, clubs may establish a Practice Squad of 10 players. No club, including the playerâs prior club, will be permitted to sign a player to a Practice Player Contract until all clubs have received simultaneous notification via the above Personnel Notice that such playerâs prior NFL player contract has been terminated via the waiver system.
September 5-9: In accordance with the 2016 Personnel (Injury) Report Policy, each club is required to file a Practice Report with its conference communications contact by 4:00 p.m., New York time, (or as soon as possible after the completion of practice) every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for a regular season Saturday or Sunday game; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for a Thursday game; or Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for a Monday game.
Each club must also file a weekly regular season Game Status Report with its conference communications contact by 4:00 p.m., New York time (or as soon as possible after the completion of practice) on Wednesday for a Thursday game, Friday for a Saturday or Sunday game, and Saturday for a Monday game. An update must be reported if there is any change in a player's condition after the initial Game Status Report is filed.
September 8: At 12:00 a.m., New York time, the Top 51 Rule expires for all NFL clubs.
I would be surprised if they haven't let him throw a few in practice to see what he has!

Texans have roster flexibility to carry Cecil Shorts in-season & seek conditional draft pick in trade. SF LA BUF CIN CHI TB IND
yes and why I thought he might be cut and a younger player given shot to learn. I'm happy team went with six WRsMore realistically......How much in demand would Short actually be?

#Texans currently have the 19th youngest team in the NFL at 26.17 years old. Rams have the youngest w/ avg. age at 25.
I'm sure you meant from 25.81 to 26.17.So we got older this year; from 25.81 last year to 25.81 this year. Interesting.

None of the Texans' players who were waived were claimed by other teams, and Houston was not awarded any other waived players.
I'm surprised.
I figured we'd at least get a lineman of some sort.
Bad move killing the Bears discussion thread (how in the hell can it be off topic?) ... so ... the Bears signed Sitton and have released Robbie Gould ...

I guess we now know the type of players that are needed to win a SB.
I haven't had time to read the threads thoroughly, have the Texans picked up anyone via free agency?
I tend to kiss my wife, some say this is an Aggie deal, but I just like kissing my wife (Hook em').
