Texans Player Transaction DISCUSSION Thread

I am hoping for some releases as we get closer to regular game one. The free agents have been picked over and I'm not interested in any.

My thoughts on Arnette have not changed since he has been signed. Hopefully i’m wrong. On the plus side, I am wrong quite often ;)
I’m not expecting him to be signed. Especially after Ward’s recent arrest (bad look PR wise imo).

But even if he were… I wouldn’t expect him to be any more than a camp body. He was overdrafted as a prospect and couldn’t get/stay on the field when he wasn’t in trouble off the field.

Myles Bryant was a UDFA in Arnette’s draft class. And I would not expect Arnette to beat out Bryant given what they’ve put on film. And Bryant is more a back end roster guy.

Is a signing that would never have happened under Bob McNair. Not a chance.

This guys rap sheet is longer than John Gotti and Al Capone combined. Look at his wikipedia page.

First Ward and now Arnette. Keep this up, and Jerry Jones might buy this team.

I'd rather Alexander
I’m not actually sure I would.

In theory having him as CB3 is great insurance but the worst type of backup for insurance is the one that’s injured more than the actual starters are and that’s Alexander.

It really reminds me of the Dameon Pierce situation and how almost regardless of play if he’s injured every time Mixon is then he simply cannot be RB2.

well people were crying about how we only sign goodie tushie boys...well that should shut them up...yall got exactly what yall wanted. Lets see how this plays out but the wrap sheet on this guy is like santas naughty and nice list...holy smokes...and still hasnt learned his lesson...his last offense wasnt too long ago.

Gruden says Arnette is a changed man................but when he was caught this past Feb with what he denies was meth what was he doing possessing a gun after previous gun charges? Doesn't seem like he's made the change...........a slow learner???

I can not get into this signing but it's cheap. I hope he doesn't take up roster spot as did the DB we signed last year and cut this off-season. Arnett has not made it to regular season playing field since drafted.

Edit: sorry I placed in wrong thread as I thought TB51 post was in discussion thread. I will try to slow and verify.

It's all good Badboy
and as far as Annette his personal activities assault with deadly weapon concealed weapon without permit possession drug substances. Surely hope all that is behind him Texans and the locker room don't need the drama

I could be wrong but I thought I read that the recent meth charge along with his second gun violation was March of this year? It does bring to question if he is past that behavior.

My understanding is that his last arrest was early part of 2024
Thanks. The 2025 that I was thinking about was the court ordered award he was to pay for a assault in 2023. He had incidents in 2022, 2023 and as you said in 2024. It is now been approximately 18 months without any known events. Perhaps this is behind him. One thing for sure, Ryans and his teammates will not put up with his crap if he continues. I think they have one goal.

well Demeco likes to make better men...and the latest trend at Ohio State is this super christian, pro god, and saving people...hopefully Demeco and Stroud and the veteran leadership on this team can reign him in and get this young man on the right track and back to being a productive citizen and human being. He had talent coming out of college...I dont watch the roughnecks or the usfl or whatever its called so I cant say if there has been any decline....but we shall see.

Wow that is some history to follow up year after year on non football things no?

True as anyone who have possibilities to recover, heal, change and even if it's thru Saviour Jesus Christ (aka CJ) to become a better person in life.

This isn't Bob/Janice's Texans anymore. Their way of operating didn't produce championships. Although their way of doing things made them almost 6 billion dollar in a little over 2 decades.

Better sign Arnette before the Chiefs/Eagles/Ravens etc.... do. Are you starting to notice a pattern here of how the top teams in the NFL operate?
