Should I make room on CasteriogetdafuhOut train?$10 million guaranteed to a 30 year old receiver that couldn't average 10 yards/catch last season.
Why? The player. The $$$. Why?
In his defense he was on a bad offense where he's the only real WR and he dealt with 4-5 games of Malik Willis as the starter. And looking at the contract that's pretty well in line with what receivers of his caliber are getting.$10 million guaranteed to a 30 year old receiver that couldn't average 10 yards/catch last season.
Why? The player. The $$$. Why?
Double face slap. He won't make any better as depth in a WCO. He isn't strong and he isn't quick enoughBackup depth contract for Q. Hopefully this scheme makes him better:
When we cut him we can probably save five million dollars! Signed$10 million guaranteed to a 30 year old receiver that couldn't average 10 yards/catch last season.

Remember last time we replaced a meh Center with a 2nd round pick?Q means we aren't signing a FA or not drafting center? Contract chicken feed but TK happy.![]()
I just want our plan b at any position to not be a disaster.Remember last time we replaced a meh Center with a 2nd round pick?
& the 2nd round pick was worse?
All I want is for our next Center to be better than Quessenberry. As easy as we all believe that should be we've seen this team screw that up.
I'm not expecting Q to be the starting Center for the Texans when the season starts. I'm expecting him to be beat in camp, if however their "plan A" doesn't work out... I'm fine with plan B.
If you're on the "Caserio can do no wrong" train then Quessenberry leap frogging Morrisey then being signed to come back in 2023 should either cause you to rethink things like PFF grades, your eyes, or being on that particular train.I just want our plan b at any position to not be a disaster.
I liked him he plays very good it is a sad loss imho. I guess it was a money thing or to play for the Browns
We seem to be giving away better players than we bringing in - although I didn't mind the Winovich signing.I liked him he plays very good it is a sad loss imho. I guess it was a money thing or to play for the Browns
Just balancing out the "Caserio can do nothing right" train. If you're on the "Caserio can do no wrong" train then Quessenberry leap frogging Morrisey then being signed to come back in 2023 should either cause you to rethink things like PFF grades, your eyes, or being on that particular train.
Yay finally - a decent signing!Jimmy Ward is a new Texans safety!
Jimmy Ward and Shaq Mason added after I made this prediction. We seem to be giving away better players than we bringing in - although I didn't mind the Winovich signing.
I'm hoping for a couple of nice signings before this fa is over. I have a feeling they are working on one.
What in the hell is their fascination with Murray??? This dude definitely has discriminating pics of someone.![]()
Texans Rework S Eric Murray's Deal
According to Aaron Wilson, the Texans have reworked the deal for S Eric Murray. Wilson adds the move was necessary to keep him with the team. He did something similar last season, inking a two-year,nfltraderumors.co
Dorset is not quite a bust, but is a jag. You expect more out of a first rounder.
I don’t think losing Dorsett necessitates them spending a prime pick at the position.Dorset is not quite a bust, but is a jag. You expect more out of a first rounder.
If Texans don't replace him via FA, they will definitely target WR with a prime pick in the draft.

You really think that highly of Akins?I really don't understand Caserio's lack of appreciation for Aikens. All Aikens has ever done is produce where the other TE's fell short. No one on the roster or a rookie will be able to fill his shoes in 2023.
Looks like TE is now a need. Go all in and take a good one at #33.
I thought this was a very strong TE class. You really think that highly of Akins?
TE is one of the biggest needs on this team. It has been one of the biggest needs on this team since Fiedo retired. Yes, they need to address it early.Looks like TE is now a need. Go all in and take a good one at #33.

When the Texans OC, whoever it was, decided to utilize the TE position, Akins was the one I remember catching balls and scoring. You really think that highly of Akins?
Since Daniel’s retired. All I remember about Fido was the concussionsTE is one of the biggest needs on this team. It has been one of the biggest needs on this team since Fiedo retired. Yes, they need to address it early.
True, but that is saying very little... he's had 1755 yards receiving since 2018When the Texans OC, whoever it was, decided to utilize the TE position, Akins was the one I remember catching balls and scoring.
He might be living it up like Dj Swearinger & Caserio…I really don't understand Caserio's lack of appreciation for Aikens. All Aikens has ever done is produce where the other TE's fell short. No one on the roster or a rookie will be able to fill his shoes in 2023.
Yet they draft one almost every year. Getting a TE is one thing, actually using TE in your offense is another.TE is one of the biggest needs on this team. It has been one of the biggest needs on this team since Fiedo retired. Yes, they need to address it early.
I remember 2016 when Fiedo and Griffin combined for 100 catches and 1,000 yards.Since Daniel’s retired. All I remember about Fido was the concussions
Yeah he took a couple of seasons to hit his stride.I remember 2016 when Fiedo and Griffin combined for 100 catches and 1,000 yards.
That's the thing -- which TE has been more productive? That's why we ended up bringing him back once already. Wait until we have two others who are better before letting him go.True, but that is saying very little... he's had 1755 yards receiving since 2018
Steven Sims, probably mostly here to look at punt and KO returning, and as WR depth.
***************************************************************************************
Steven Sims played in only one game for the Steelers in 2021. The bulk of his work was in 2022 when he recorded 14 catches for 104 yards and carried 13 times for 70 yards. He also averaged 25.5 yards per kickoff return with 5.5 yards per punt return.
While with Washington from 2019-20, Sims averaged 24.6 yards per kickoff return and even scored a touchdown during his 28 games. Sims averaged 6.2 yards per punt return, and caught 61 passes for 575 yards and five touchdowns through 28 games, four of which he started.
Whatchu bin drinking?I'm sorry guys. We haven't even got to the draft & I'm starting to think about winning season.
Heart ache. Nothing but a heartbreak.I'm sorry guys. We haven't even got to the draft & I'm starting to think about winning season.
Oh I think about a winning season all the time. Hasn't helped lately. I do think the Texans will improve this year. How much is debatable.I'm sorry guys. We haven't even got to the draft & I'm starting to think about winning season.
I’m embarrassed by the win totals I’ll be predicting come August. Right now I’m predicting 6-7.I'm sorry guys. We haven't even got to the draft & I'm starting to think about winning season.
The Texans coming up with 6-7 wins this season is a reasonable expectation no matter the outcome of the draft. They can get 6 -7 wins out of Case if they had to. But no matter who they get in the draft, I still wouldn't expect much more than 7 wins. Maybe 8 if they nail the draft.I’m embarrassed by the win totals I’ll be predicting come August. In August I’ll be on here like “Texans win 11 games who says no”

Oh yeah I think 6-8 is very reasonable. My worry is the numbers that will be swimming through my head after I spend 3 months watching Bryce Young highlightsThe Texans coming up with 6-7 wins this season is a reasonable expectation no matter the outcome of the draft.
