Texans Player Transaction DISCUSSION Thread

The Texans did a lot of work on him in the predraft process. Multiple meetings per the prospect tracker in the college football forum. He must have been a high value UDFA target during the draft.
Love Daniels

Picking up Perry will help the ST's at the very least. At most he could develop into a starter level player. He's got unreal athletic ability.

Slovis is a good PS pickup.

Dont know anything about the other guys.

Here is a review that gives Slovis some kudos.............except for a very worrisome INT rate.

I remembered Slovis mostly from his first two seasons with USC when the young up and comer was really establishing a name for himself. He was living up to his HS hype. For me….he started reading the press clippings and felt his development was done and he could now rely on his arm (aka Brett Favre) more and more. That backfired in a hurry. It’s going to take some time and patience to get him back to growing and learning as an NFL QB. This could be an awesome challenge for Case Keenum (the future QB coach) to take Slovis aside and work with him exclusively while Johnson focuses on Stroud and Mills.

question would be hows his arm and shoulder going to hold up...guess being qb3 will give him plenty of time

Braeden Daniels is a great signing, it's pretty rare to get another teams 4th rounder. Looks like he has all the tools to be a zone-guard, but needs development. The Commanders tried him at tackle and he didn't make it.
I don't understand why he didn't make it at OT. The tools are there for Daniels to be a good LT. Of course the Redskins coaching was subpar last year.

He's a developmental type dude, so they can bust pretty easily.

New coaching staff must not think much of him so hopefully their loss is our gain.

Could be like Kendrick Green. Change of scenery and scheme could benefit him.

Braeden Daniels is a solid zone scheme type of OT/OG. Won’t wow you with strength or physical powers, but could be adept in space. Have no idea why Washington forgot their roots (Hogs) but he could develop into something better than a JAG.

Really think Caserio is willing to reach based on staff ability to coach up & scheme more than anything else. Thorn (OL draft guru) was real high on him, and usually he’s spot on.

From what I’ve read seems Weaver played himself off the Titans roster this preseason even though he played a position of need for the Titans. The fishing hole must be drying up.

Really? Most posters on TT often use the possessive plural when talking about 'our' team. Surprised you went there.
I've never done this.

This is Bob McNair's team that he handed down to his son.

We as fans have nothing to do with the decision making of the Texans org.

Best thing that happened for the fans of this org is Bob and Janice no longer are running the org. Cal is finally getting to run the org the way he's wanted too. Letting Caserio and Ryans get the players they want on their team without the not Texans Worthy stipulations.

Perhaps we are coming to that elusive description of a true Texans fan irrespective of the Kool Aid sipper or Hater labels. Those that use “We” consistently are true Texans fans. If a “They” slips in They just are showing their true colors.

yeah, Ive never used "they" its always been WE even though I know I dont own any part of any Houston organization....but Im a Houston Fan through and through and the Texans, Astros, and Rockets will always be WE for me...win or lose...

Wonder why it’s a one year extension? Maybe it’s a mortgage payment for a possible higher trade pick if he continues to improve?
I think the one year extension is mutual. This gives Mills an opportunity to test free agency for a higher contract in the event he has playing time that shows him worthy of a raise.

And if he doesn’t get that playing time here because CJ is healthy… then he can always go elsewhere to get into a Minshew type situation for more playing time opportunities.

But for Mills there isn’t a better place for him to “showcase” himself than in Houston if CJ were to get injured. Best system fit and personnel.
