Agreed. The one thing he does have is speed.
That guy must not have watched any Texans games.

I know he used to be fastHuh? Not the biggest Miller fan and you're right about breaking tackles but he's fast, ran a 4.40 s 40. And he catches 77% of the balls thrown to him.

I know he used to be fast
Lack of speed
Lack of wiggle
Lack of care
I dont know what it is but the explosive plays aren't there.
I know he had the 97 yr run.
Plus 20 yard runs 2018
Miller 6
Barkley 16
Elliot 11
Mixon 11
Gordon 9
Brenda 10
Chubb 11
It is hard to have long runs when you are getting hit in the backfield or there is no hole to run through.Bit more to a 20 yard run then just speed. I dont think most are arguing he lacks certain attributes. But he is fast.

last time I made an innocuous comment about it being the offseason you and @badboy conspired to run me off for over a year.
I'm done talking about this with you.

CLE is shopping G Kevin Zeitler. Looking for a pick.
Zeitler was last years Profootball focus highest rated pass blocking guard.
How old is he again? As long as it ain’t no 1st or 2nd rounder, I wouldn’t mind seeing Gaine going after him. At least he’s a proven guard, and probably better than any of the trash we trot out there to “protect” Watson.Want. Curious what the draft price would be?

He just turned 29, and he will definitely not go for less than a 2nd..........with a contract take over that includes over $12 million.......which he may want to redo for more.28 years old. I'd consider our 3rd and change (a 6 or 7) ,but it might take more

Are you sure that the signing bonus is not prorated (part of the original contract guarantee numbers) and therefore the responsibility of the trade receiving team?Only the base salaries transfer. He has no workout or roster bonuses so his salaries & cap hits for the next 3 seasons are $10, $10 & $12.

I’m not in favor of trading anymore damn picks! Just build through the draft and not so free (spend the Benjamins) free agency![]()

Gaine hit in pretty much every round. Rankin might be the only question mark, but that’s only because he was injured. Can’t really write him off as a wasted pick just yet. Now, Rick Smith...that’s a different story! The guy could f.uck up a cup of coffee!I understand your desire to horde picks for lotto tickets - but frankly, we've busted on so many 2's and 3's I'd be rather just go with the real deal.

Martin????I see where you're coming from
But an OL of Brown/Zietler/Martin/Fulton/Cajuste really appeals to me. Very costly but a vast improvement and after spending the last 2 yrs watching Watson getting the crap kicked out of him and all of the RB's (Not just Miller running into a brick wall) spending the draft capital and FA $$$$ to stop this immediately really appeals to me. Hell, if you do this then spend the 1st and two 2's on the CB/NT positions. They've got the $$$$.
Martin????
Martin????

Texans OT Julie'n Davenport allowed the most pressures (67) of any NFL OT in 2018, per @PFF. He also led all tackles in penalties with 16, and placed second in sacks allowed with 12. The only player with more sacks was Kolton Miller of the Raiders, a rookie coached by Tom Cable.
Martin????
Sounds like he's getting coached well
Yep,
If they could only coach him to move his feet faster.
God, I hope I never have to see his sorry ass protecting Watson's blindside. Funny thing is some people on here think he's going to improve in his 3rd yr. There the same lets wait and see crowd that thought last yrs bunch of backups could become a good OL group.
Face it the talent isn't there and no amount of coaching is going to help Davenport. With that said, if you're saying Devlin needs to go I would wholeheartedly agree with you.
2-3 year developmental player is what Lance Zierlein said in his prospect profile for NFL.com.
That's not to say he shouldn't be upgraded but players do get better in their 3rd year & specifically that was his projected path.

You're right, Steel ! Early in this off-season, I was criticized for my robust, (and fairly relentless), campaign, to bring in bona fide talent for our offensive line. Watching Watson get killed time after time, brought back sad memories of David Carr. There were some folks on the board, who didn't appreciate my enthusiasm, so rather than wage war, I made a concerted effort to subdue my zeal. About an hour or so ago, I finished watching our next to last game of the regular season .... Eagles, Foles threw for 500 yds .... damn good game, but we lost in the final seconds. My takeaways .... Fact 1) .... Davenport and Rankin are not good enough to be starters on the left side .... Fact 2) .... Lamm is equally lacking in talent, and if Kelemete had been playing, I could've quite possibly included him. That is the way I saw it !

Curious as to why they want to trade him.
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot, the Cleveland Browns will look into trading guard Kevin Zeitler. Zeitler originally joined the team in 2017 as a free agent, signing a five-year deal worth $60 million, then the highest-paying contract for an interior offensive lineman. Zeitler has so far played up to expectation, starting every game over the past two years while yielding only six sacks during that stretch. Zeitler proved particularly dominant as a pass protector in 2018, allowing just 13 total pressures.
Normally, players of Zeitler’s caliber don’t become available. However, Browns general manager John Dorsey invested the 33rd overall pick last April in Austin Corbett, a talented guard prospect without a spot on the line. Just as significantly, the team’s investment in Zeitler came before Dorsey’s arrival in Cleveland. With no personal stake in Zeitler and a reason to push someone else into his starting role, Dorsey appears willing to trade the highly paid guard.
Curious as to why they want to trade him.
Probably Cap reasons.
They also cut Collins for that reason.
Do they have a bunch of young guys coming due for new contracts?
ATLANTA (AP) — The Cleveland Browns will carry over a league-leading $56.5 million in salary cap space from this season, the NFL Players Association announced.
According to the numbers released Thursday, the Browns are projected to enter the new league year about $82 million under the cap. The league's collective bargaining agreement allows teams to carry over unused salary cap space to the next season.
Indianapolis had the second-highest carryover at $49.1 million, followed by San Francisco ($35 million), Tennessee ($25.6 million) and Houston ($18.8 million) to round out the top five.
Just a thought.....Texans trade for Zietler and he settles the LG or RG position. As for the LT position, Rankin was injured throughout the entire off-season which really put him behind the development curve. He was drafted to play LT. Could Rankin possibly be ready for another shot at LT with a full NFL season and a 2019 off-season under his belt? I would also expect the addition of Zietler could be a tremendous help to either Rankin or even Risner if the Texans decided to flip Fulton and Zietler. This alludes to the fact that I would be falling back on my favorite two targets in the draft to make up the difference.
The OL would be given a complete makeover with several affordable seasons ahead of them.
Starters
LT- Rankin / LG- Zietler / C- McCoy (R) / RG- Fulton / RT- Risner (R)
Or they could try:
LT- Rankin / LG- Fulton / C- McCoy (R) / RG- Zeitler / RT- Risner (R)
Backups
OT- Davenport and Henderson / OG- Kelemete and Mancz / C- Martin and Mancz
I'm fairly certain McCoy could beat Martin for the starting position if truly given a chance to compete and likewise, I think Risner could beat Henderson for the starting RT position.
Again, this OL wouldn't break the bank and could easily be maintained for the next 3-5 years. It could be beneficial when the Texans decide to give Watson his new contract.
