Slowik and the offense

He's not currently a leader.

Maybe he will grow into one.

Some think he's already a leader, one things for sure, he's got cart blanche to do whatever he wants to do. He's got that in common with Derrick during his time down on Kirby. Difference is Stroud's got the talent to win a championship. (Derrick didn't) he's just gotta put in the work.
so b/c he cried for a teammate in a game …he’s not a leader? 🤣🤣🤣. What kind of bullshit is this?
Never heard of that as some type of criteria that DQ’s for a leadership role before.

I’ve heard of being considered a leader Because of your tenure in the game…

I’ve heard of being considered a leader b/c you’re 1 of the best players on the team…

I’ve heard of being considered a leader b/c of the position you play…

I’ve heard of you being considered a leader b/c of how you carry yourself

I’ve heard of being considered a leader b/c of your experience in big time situations

CJ right now qualifies for at least 3 out of 5 of those so he is without a doubt a leader on the team dude.

Lol nobody remembers you doing any of that and especially not at the extent you do towards Smith, Watson, CJ and Mulugheta. I never seen you call them people you mentioned dumb, or I never seen you attack their family members like you did towards CJ. Never!
You dont remember me calling Mallet dumb?

Os Dumb?

I cant stand DM and that has nothing to do with race.

I called Derrick dumb in the heat of a gameday thread. Turns out I was more right than I thought I was at the time.

I never called CJ dumb, although I believe in the S-2 test (Still do, CJ is an outlier IMHO) As far as his family goes, there's never been a QB in NFL history that's won a championship with his family background and that's still TBD if he can. I'm hopeful and think he can win a championship once he matures now.

Have you seen another QB cry like that on the field when a teammate gets hurt? I haven't in my 55 yrs of watching football. It's not a good look.

You know who the leader of the offense was last yr? Mixon.

Football is a violent sport. As the QB, you are also paid to not let injuries affect or shake you for the rest of the game. Because if that shakes you, what else will?
Interesting as I have never mentioned anyone saying that was in NFL contract.

The age excuse is not acceptable. He is no longer in college. He is now a professional QB in the NFL with different standards and expectations while making millions.
Just to clarify, it is okay to cry in the NFL such as Chris Jones sobbing during the national anthem if I remember correctly, just not if a teammate is losing his career over a broken part of his body. Huh

It’s like the QB vs WR argument. A qb running up and down the sideline being animated and aggressive…yelling and screaming at guys about playing better “oh he’s so passionate..fiery..such a leader and he wants to win!” A WR doing that same stuff “he’s a diva..selfish..all about himself”.

After shedding tears did he whupAss, or did he get whupped? If he whuppedAss... that's fine. Men cry. If he got whupped, cried, got whupped again, that's a problem... probably not picking that guy to fight for me.

You're perfectly welcome to pick that guy for your team... heck, get 22 of them.

Now let's go win a Super Bowl.
Whupassed or not, Chris Jones and Stroud can lead my team anytime and...
Cry all the way through four quarters if they want to.

Last I checked Chris Jones doesn’t let that distract his focus and continues to impact the game.

You're cool with it & think such a person could win a Super Bowl.

Now I'm specifically talking about someone who cries, then plays poorly afterwards.

I don't think that guy will win a Super Bowl, unless something changes. A man can only take so much, right?

Why is that such a big deal?
If you disbelieve Stroud can take us to the Super Bowl you should be coming up with trade options immediately. I am waiting!

You weren't here then

Tell me what's not true about my statement?
Sure, just as soon as you tell me how his family history has any relevance to him being capable of winning a SB..I’ll give you a hint, it doesn’t have any relevance.

Much like your QB/ 30% salary cap nonsense…your Mulageta clients crap…all the way to your Nathan Peterman franchise qb takes…you like to draw parallels to things that really have nothing to do with each other.

I mean, there’s thinking outside the box and then there’s what you do.

I can do that too.

Everyone else: “Did you see CJ ate a hot dog on the sideline and then went out and threw that wobbly pass..”

You: “ He ate a hot dog on the sideline… did he put mustard on it? No? Oh man, he’s no leader, leaders put mustard on their hot dog…he can’t win a SB. No qb has ever won a SB that ate a hot dog on the sideline with no mustard during the game….what? Tell me what’s not true about my statement?” 😂

You asked if I was in the room. Adam Schefter breaks news and uses sources all of the time without actually being present. So, having sources doesn’t mean being present firsthand.
So NFL teams also recognize you and does a major media source pay you for what you hear? Trying to equate yourself with Adam Schefter is the height of egotism and/or stupidity... or both

All i get from all this Stroud stuff is people love to kick you when youre down. He didnt even have a terrible season but because it wasnt up to expectations now hes got character concerns... Not a leader... Hard to coach...

Where were all these stories and concerns when he was having one of the best rookie seasons ever?

Still it was obvious Irvin was hurt bad they carried him off on a stretcher.

But I'll give you one more.

Mark Sanchez blew Dustin Keller's knee up ending his career right by where my seats were.
Was that the injury Keller suffered in the 2013 preseason game at NRG? The one where Swearinger hit him low?

If that's the game. Keller was playing for the Dolphins not the Jets. To my knowledge, Sanchez never played for the Dolphins. So, I doubt we would have seen Sanchez's reaction.

Got another one? :whip:

They had to keep quiet. They see blood in the water and they all come out.

Stroud wasn’t willing to listen that’s why his second year was not as good. They clearly ran their own plays at times on offense. Receivers came out the huddle not knowing the route. Nico would run one route and Stroud expected him to be elsewhere. It’s on the QB to command his offense. It’s fine if you want to pound your head in the sand. If this happens again Stroud may as well end up on the Vince Young route.

Vince Young? lol.

The plays called in by Slowik were never on time. How many times did we see the play being called at the last second and players barely getting to the line with a few seconds left. It was widely known Slowik was too close to call in the plays.

Running their own plays on offense? They have to be hen Slowik showed no adaptability. Other teams DCs figured him out and he had no answer for it. Slowik could see the OL was trash and still was calling plays that took too long to develop and was ending up getting Stroud running for his life, getting sacked, or rushing to throw the ball. Was Stroud at fault for some of the plays? Sure. But it was 80% on Slowik.

And Nico not knowing the route he was running and couldn’t connect with Stroud? That’s a new one. Because he was leading in WR categories until he went down with injury.

Taking a few instances of miscommunication and making it seem like it was always happening is so disingenuous. But that’s to be expected.

And you have to ask yourself - if this was happening so often in every game - where is the OC to reign in the offense? To make sure the OL is doing their job? WRs know their routes? QB is following directions?

Nowhere because Slowik lost the locker room. The entire offense had no confidence in Slowik. It wasn’t a Stroud thing.

I agree Cj is not the problem. I also believe he did not respect Slowik.

I think when asked on his exit interview, he mentioned a lot of things on the offense need to be fixed pointing to but not saying Slowik is a problem.

I believe many players, both sides of the ball, said similar things, pointing to the same place, but also not blatantly referring to Slowick.

I think DeMeco thought it over, considered going forward with Slowik & going forward without Slowik. I believe he wanted to go with Slowik in his heart of hearts, but came to the conclusion the right thing to do is to move forward without Slowik.

He brought the issue to Cal, told them he will swing the sword himself... but if TexansTalk asks, could he get Hanah to drop an obscure tweet.

This is the closest thing to probably what happened I have heard or read anywhere. Even the stuff I type.

You're certainly choosy what you want to listen to. Why is that?
Is he 0-2 when it comes to OC's?

This has nothing to do with listening to anybody. Who would you suggest I listen too. LZ is a local guy with national contacts. I would say he's a pretty good guy to listen too. Plus the fact that I heard this before the draft too and like LZ after hearing this thought they would never draft CJ because of this. They chose to draft CJ anyways and it made CJ look less credible. LZ said WA was 1-1 on the Texans board in that draft. I believe this to be true since they gave up quite a bit to move up and get WA.

Plus take into account that when asked by another team how his last interview went CJ said it went terrible. Why would another team ask how CJ's previous interview went?

Confirmation bias i believe is the term.
Or the fact that I was told the same thing by somebody else who would know about this before the draft. Let me share this with you, after the fan council thing, where they told Hannah they wanted a QB to be drafted the pick at 1-2 was going to be a QB. CJ wasn't a Hannah choice, but the QB position was a Hannah choice. You can choose to believe this or not.

You can be told, but your choice to believe what you're being told without any evidence suggests that you already had something against the dude in the 1st place..which we know to be true based on your stance in regards to anyone whose a Mulagheta client.

Depends on who told me and I totally believe the person who told me this because he's friends with the highest part of the Texans org.

That's great. Still doesn't mean that the conclusions you draw from the event are valid...Those are your ownn personal leaning on what you think. especially if you haven't talked to any of the parties involved. That's H.R. 101 bud.

He's 0-2 when it comes to getting along with OC's.

It's what you have to deal with if you want the talent.
See this is what I be talking about, I posted what Hickman tweeted, a well known beat writer for the Texans who is very straight forward. And what did you do, ignored it like I knew you would. Why: because it doesn’t factor in with your agenda. Yes it’s an agenda because you only believe the negatives and that’s it. There’s no weighing stuff out with you. Since Lance said it, it’s golden huh.

Nope, it comes down to believing in what the person who told me these things. It has nothing to do with personal leanings. You either believe this person or you dont. After yrs of being friends with this person I've got no doubt they were telling me the truth.

Read my post above.

This has nothing to do with LZ/Hicman etc...
