That guys seems just a little emotionally butthurt.

That dude had the weakest resume of the three .... Caserio & Khan were at least close / debatable but that guy hasn't been employed by an NFL team for 8 years , his resume wasn't even in the same zip code when compared to either Khan or Caserio. There's only one reason he was a candidate and that reason shouldn't have been a consideration to begin with.

Yeah , he's butthurt.

To your point. Riddick getting an interview might have been an indicator of what a sham and waste of time the interview process was. For example, if he was interviewed for one obvious reason. Why didn't they interview more qualified candidates like Terry Fontenot who was hired by the Falcons or Brad Holmes who was hired by the Lions? Seems like the fix was in.

Texans wanted Caserio as the GM for a while. They were finally in a position to get him a contract, without tampering charges, and he accepted. The interview process was to satisfy NFL rules and regulations.....but everyone in the Texans organization knew the GM position was Caserio's to accept.

I'd like to see how Caserio is going to fill out his staff. I was hoping Eliot Wolf would've made his way over as well after one season with Caserio but I think Belichick has Wolf on board to replace Caserio.

If so blame the league rules or have you forgotten about the Rooney Rule.

Of course I know about the Rooney Rule. It's one thing to bring in qualified candidates to give them the opportunity to go through the interview process and the team has an open mind and gets surprised like the Steelers did with Tomlin. It's a totally different thing to ignore experienced minority candidates to interview less qualified minority candidates just for the sake of satisfying the Rooney Rule. See the difference?

They weren’t on Korn Ferry’s recommendation list either which wasn’t that one of things people dragged the Texans through the mud for, ignoring the recommendations.

They did interview another minority in Khan.

I agree with you though, they've wanted Caserio for yrs and Cuck finally got his guy.

After Cuck talked with Dungy and Dungy told him to go with his gut, nobody but Caserio was going to get the GM job. Didn't really matter who they interviewed to satisfy the Rooney rule.

And then to think the Texans paid Korn Ferry a couple million $$ to come up with that sham list.

Really Louis Riddick was the second best candidate they could come up with ? Remember that's the same crew of morons that recommended OB. Their reputation should be forever tarnished.

It's what daddy did. Same for hiring Nick Caserio. It's what daddy was trying to do in 2018.

And because Cal is so freakin' beta (and I can't stress enough how much of a mental wimp he appears to be), I fully expect this to be another boardroom front office where other voices have as much value as the GM.

Because, you know. . .it's the way daddy did it.

I can see it but I can also see Caserio going “Cal, you hired me to be the GM and lead this team. Now let me do what you hired me to do and I’ll handle this. You just smile for the cameras and enjoy the owners box.”

Caserio does not strike me as the type to go along with a boardroom type decision making. That’s not what he’s use to and that’s not what he’s seen the last 20 years work. If anything I see him as more that “You coach the team I give you” type of GM.

I mean before he was hired they really weren’t considering EB. Caserio comes in and gets the NFL to change the interview rules so he can interview him. Then according to some reports was EB wanted roster control, like what Reid has in KC, and that’s what sunk him. Then they hire Culley who was on no ones radar even the Texans before Caserio got there.

People need to keep in mind being the one in charge does not mean that you never listen or even follow other’s advice. At least not if you want to have any success as a leader. Even in NE BB has advisors. I think some were wanting Caserio to come in and fire everyone in the building, particularly Easterby, and are taking the fact he hasn’t done that as a sign he’s not in charge when in reality it could just be that maybe he hasn’t got to them yet or even that, brace yourselves, they haven’t done anything to get fired.

Even the idea of do it for the optics, when has NE ever given a rat’s furry butt about optics.

I really hope you are right about Caserio and the big stick he wields.

John McClain, fwiw, is already undermining that hoped for scenario and says other voices are elevated more than they should be. And based on Texans history, it's not hard to believe.

At this point, even Cal needs to step back and let Caserio be the GM. JMO

I wonder, and this is total guessing, if pancakes didn’t get shown the door. He was part of that whole search committee and seemed to be getting an inside track again. Then Caserio shows up and since then he’s seemed to be a step behind on all the latest reports and he’s been writing some less than flattering articles lately. I wonder if Caserio didn’t like the idea of a reporter being behind the closed doors.

He will be demanding a trade three months from now. Lol
I like Dak, i think he's a team guy but his deal is even more restricting than DW4's. he reportedly has a NTC and he can't be franchise tagged. So the Cowboys are more or less stuck with him for at least the next 4 years. They just better hope that his game isn't severely hampered due to that injury.

Won’t be an issue, his game will be hampered enough playing on the cowboys.

Even without the injury Dak is a middle tier QB. That was an idiotic move by Jerruh.

It won’t be because of that contract they just gave him. They’re not a good franchise right now. Hasn’t been one since the early 90’s. But hey continue to beat that dead horse to death.:deadhorse:deadhorse
During their 90s run when they met the 49ers in three consecutive NFCCG, Cowboys fans led by Skip Bayless wanted to petition the NFL to reseed the playoffs because in their opinion, the two best teams were meeting in the NFCCG. They felt the NFCCG between the 49ers and Cowboys were better matchups than who would be facing the Cowboys in the Super Bowl.

It never crossed their arrogant minds that the day would come when the Cowboys would not be in the Super Bowl or even the NFCCG. Fast forward 25 years later and they still haven't made another NFCCG. I doubt Dak's new contract will prevent them from doing something they haven't done in 25 years.

I think Watson took care of that.

All NC has to say is, "Dumbsht like that is exactly why the player wants out."

More media trying to stir the pot and get clicks. I mean what else is Culley going to say "No we want guys that will phone it in and play like it a weekend flag football game."
Yep. Culley also said “I don’t know about him not wanting to be a Houston Texan.”

He's not going to tip any of the cards that Caserio is holding right now. Dude is just happy to be a head coach, regardless of the results. And he's got that optimistic personality that probably believes every team, even the crappy ones, has a shot every season.

Starting to sour on Culley. Why couldn't he just say, "C'mon man, what kind of question is that? You know what the situation is. We're taking it a day at a time, & today the player is a Houston Texans & a professional."
Here's where it gets tricky from a legal point of view. Watson, nor I believe his agent, have publicly stated that he wants a trade or does not want to play for the Texans. So far its all media "sources" and friends of Watson like his QB coach, nothing that could come back on him. They may have communicated that in private but its just like any other company or public figure in that it doesn't matter if everyone knows something you can't be held accountable or held to something until you say it publicly. If Culley even says something like "You know what the situation is." that confirms all the reports and from there is goes beyond speculation to confirmation. It's why Watson's agent has shot down any reporting of Watson sitting out training camp because in theory Watson could say tomorrow "I don't know where all this media circus came from but I'm here to play." and the only people that actually look bad are the media with "sources".

Its no different than a lawyer telling a client to not say anything about anything because if it gets nasty even the simplest thing can bite you. I honestly think thats why Watson has cut out a lot of the cryptic tweets because his agent told him that if it does go to arbitration or even court then those tweets could be very hard to explain away and put doubt in the arbiter's or judge's mind which would be very bad. Both the Texans and Watson are playing poker right now and both have a perfect poker face, legally Texans have the better hand but if Watson can make them buy his bluff or if they decide they don't want to go all in on this hand then he could win. If Texans call his bluff and say this is the all in hand then he's going to lose.
