Toss in my plan to move both Watt and Cook for RD3 picks......and the Texans suddenly have an outstanding draft ahead of them. Cook to WFT (RD3-19-051) and Watt to CHI (RD3-20-084) plus Texans RD3-03-067.

I believe the Redskins could be another team with real interest should the Texans put Watson on the market. Would the Redskins have enough interest to part ways with Chase Young in a package? If there was even the slightest interest:

Redskins Get:
Watson

Texans Get:
Young
2021 RD2-19-051
2021 RD3-10-074 (Via SF)
2021 RD3-19-083
2022 RD1
2022 RD2

In this scenario....Texans get a big answer on the DL. They'll have a nice RD2 pick, but if the Texans still moved Watt and Cook (To NYJ)....they could have 5 picks in RD3. RD3-03-67, RD3-10-74 (WFT), RD3-19-083 (WFT), RD3-20-84 (CHI), RD3-23-087 (NYJ). Texans new GM could probably use 5 RD3 assets to move into RD2 and still have change left over for RD3. The Texans would have to sign a stop gap for 2021 or let McCarron have a go as the starter while the team completes the rebuild.

Remember Duane Brown? Know you do, he spoke up and was traded for fraction of his value, why? Because he was right and they (ownership) would never admit being in the wrong. They would rather pay 6 times over, to get Tunsel. Instead this could have stayed a contending franchise, even more so with Watson.

But this goes beyond winning and selling seats for sheep who drink the koolaid, this is about changing culture and doing the right thing.

They adhered to DW4'S wishes and didn't trade anybody. Now they don't have cap space or draft picks. Tell me many games don't d they win? The last person that needs put on who to hire is DW4.

My bad I mistakenly thought the guy in the picture was Brian Daboll and not Joe Douglas. I can see Deshaun Watson wanting to play for Douglas if he hires Eric Bienemy. (All these bald white bearded guys look the same : ))

I forgot about this one.....Texans could take a flyer on QB, Dwayne Haskins by signing him to a prove-it type of contract for a couple of years. Maybe he could find his way and figure out how to apply his talent to the NFL. I'd let him and McCarron (Re-signed Cheap) have an open competition for QB1. Both would be at the same level since there would be a new HC, OC, QB Coach and playbook. Not to mention, I could probably have both QB's signed to 6-7M+ bonuses combined per season. That certainly leaves a bucket of money to use elsewhere until a solid QB could be drafted in 2022 or 2023 (2 RD1 Picks In Each Draft).

Wait a minute. According to Romeo, they didn't get the value. Also, with Fuller about to be suspended, who was going to trade for him? If Fuller is traded and then gets suspended, would the trade get rescinded? Who did you expect to take on Cooks or Cobb's salary? Stills cleared waivers and still hasn't taken a snap for another team.

It probably doesn't matter when you want to keep a good story going, but here is Romeo talking about what really happened at the trade deadline.

I don't think anyone is giving up a future #1 for Tua. Just my opinion.

First there's the injury issues , then , I really don't see a starting caliber QB there. I think he's a career backup at best.

Give me more picks and they can deal with Tua however they want.

I didn't get the Tua hype before he got hurt.

In fact I think he may not be as good as Mac Jones. Both are avg to maybe slightly above avg QB's. I see Mac Jones as a Matt Schaub type ceiling and maybe Tua can become that good.

Bob McNair voiced his displeasure to the team that he wasn't happy Obama was elected president the day after Obama was elected. McNair followed that up with his, the inmates are running the asylum comments. This McNair culture continues to permeate the locker room and still lives with players today. Cal's attitude and insensitive behavior towards Deshaun reminds all of the McNair elitism that has surfaced it's ugly head again.

Honestly I don't want to move Watson at all .... Only if he forced his way out and then , that wouldn't be enough for me to pull the trigger.

First , I want to see him in a different offense .... and would like to put a bunch of young talent around him in the next draft.

Question is , how to accumulate those draft picks ....
 
i dont wanna trade watson but if he truely does not want to be here IDK i would be open to offers cus he wont resign in 3 years from now

i wouldnt mind sending him to the jags so we could get trevor but it seems jags dont want to trade

if we trade to miami i would want the haul make it so high that they reject so at least we can tell watson we tried LOL i would want like 4 1st round picks and TUa and Fitz

The only way to change this unfortunately is to change the players because at this point the players opinions of the McNair's isn't going to change. Either that or the McNair's will have to sell the team for things to change.

I certainly dont think the McNair's are racists because they hired the youngest minority GM in NFL history and have a good history of minority employment. But none of that matters. Perception is reality in these times we currently live.

They have him under contract thru 2025. That's five more seasons. I might consider moving him prior to that final season if he wouldn't sign an extension at that point.
I wouldn't trade him unless he held out , and then only if I could get a huge package of early picks. Otherwise , I'd play hardball .... that contract can be frozen and he doesn't get paid.

why would the Jags take the risk? They just went through similar crap with Ramsey.
 
Coughlin wasn't the fiasco.. he was a symptom, like Easterby.. unlike Easterby though, Coughlin actually knew football. All of this stems from a shitty owner, atleast ours isn't playing home games in another continent yet.

Watson is a top tier (yes 5) QB in the beginnings of his prime.. when has a top tier QB ever been moved in the beginning of their prime? I can't remember one?

Herschel was a RB.. unless a team sells the farm for the most important position in all of sports, I'm not moving Watson hell or high water.

See this comes down to if you think he's a top 5 type QB.

I'm thinking top 10, what's the difference between a top 5 and a top 10 qb's trade value to a contender, say like the Bears/Redskins/49ers?
