Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

Remind me when 9 women (possibly 15) have falsely accused one man of sexual assault/rape to extort money from him.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying he’s guilty I’d just like to look into the precedent.
There is precedent for possibly a few people coming out with accusations and suing for a boat load of money. When I posted that the number was not to the point it is turning out to be. This is trumping the Bill Cosby case so it does not look good for DW4!

I'm just super disappointed overall. I don't give a **** about this sex **** or sex **** in general. Not my business. Couldn't care less about this as a particular "issue."

But man, I mean before a couple months ago, who the hell had any idea that Watson was such a....problem? Cancer? Drama queen? *****? Fake?

Wasn't his character and work ethic and such supposed to be like his biggest selling point aside from the being a winner?

It's just jarring is all. Pretty surprising.

Well, Watson did say he was willing to sit out a whole year....
I know that if Watson sits out a year on his own, nothing changes on his contract. Same years and all. What happens if the NFL suspends him for a year? Does he still have the same years left or does 2021 come off?

I can see Buzzbee’s first post on IG, even the second. Maybe the other women wanted/needed some assurance that he was for real & was going to do what he said he was going to do.

Maybe a couple of the women wanted to see the public reaction, before they put there names on a law suit.

But I can’t imagine why he would publish texts before the trial & the “press conference” seems a little out of place for this kind of thing.

It's really not surprising. They gave away Hopkins because of these issues. The Texans knew about these issues but probably not to the extent they are as we speak today. Cal chose to pay DW4 anyway knowing these issues. Why? Selling tickets, so I dont feel sorry for the Texans at all. They played the part in the enablement of DW4 and they are going to end up paying the price for this. This is unless Caserio pulls off a miracle. I feel sorry for Caserio (Well as sorry as I can for a guy that's getting paid 30 mil.) because he didn't know how dysfunctional this franchise is when he signed on the dotted line. Why are the Texans where they're at today? Because of poor leadership and that goes from the McNair's to the BOB/Easterby and DW4 to the waterboy. I've said this since 51-7. Hopefully Caserio can be a ray of sunshine and keep on taking out the trash.

I’m guessing to make a even bigger name for himself and to make an example out of Watson. That way all these rich folks can stop taking advantage of people ( mainly women).

Oh and to publicly humiliate Watson especially after he said he doesn’t disrespect women like that on social media.

Trust me, Busbee is very good at what he does. There was no mistake in the timing.

Yes it is because Watson track record was squeaking clean to the public eye. You and everyone else didn’t have a clue to the behind the scenes stuff that he was doing. Non of us did.

Caserio must have a pretty good idea since his buddy Jack E was already in the building. Right?

Wrong, it's why Hopkins was traded and many here tried to tell everybody at the time. I'm on record as I would've kept Hopkins for another yr rather than give him away. (Not you I'm speaking too) Hopefully people will listen next time.

Actually I'm pretty skeptical going both ways so I'm on the fence as I feel I should be until he has his due process. The mounting/multiple allegations are worrisome to say the least but those may be a product of "jumping on board" but we shall see. It'll be interesting to see if any of these women have any recorded audio of these encounters. No matter what his rep is tarnished, big time. The oiled anus jokes may never go away......
You mean like when Bob Griese and Deshaun Watson played on the same team and Deshaun told Bob he could play quarterback as long as he was the center.

Yeah I agree. Seems he’s trying to manipulate public sentiment before a trial. A lot of this dialogue could perhaps be objected to during a trial. Hardins best defense may be jury tampering.

Puts pressure on Watson and his team because he not just has to win in the court room but in the court of public perception. Buzbee knows that people will automatically side with Watson, I mean look at what we are already seeing, and that it would be easy for them to spin things. By putting official court documents out there while the unwashed masses may still by default believe him the media can’t try and defend it and still keep their reputation. Then has the media delivers the message Buzbee wants the great unwashed will start to listen and follow.

Before long Watson will pay whatever it takes just to make this go away.

Just typed 'masseuse' into my instagram account and the top 30 results are sexually provocative NSFW profiles. Are these legit masseuses? Not in my book. But in a lawsuit they get to say that they're a masseuse. Doesn't take a whole lot of guesswork to surmise that these were the type of 'masseuses' that DW was working with. But people are going to believe what they want to.

Don't know if the results will be much different, but try "massage therapist" which I think is a more appropriate name for a legit massage person.

Can’t tamper with a jury that hasn’t even been selected yet. Not to mention rarely are civil cases decided by a jury. Even the dialogue there has been no court date set or even decided it will go to court so there is no where to object.

Doesn't matter if DW4 did some of the things he's accused of doing.

Maybe he didn't pay the women what he said he would for a Happy Ending.

He can release what he wants as their lawyer. That’s his right. Even if it hurts his own case.
He’s clearly got the goods and is going to release just enough to get Watson looking even more guilty and willing to settle.
Basically, he’s twisting the screws on him to force him to the table.

The court of public opinion has spoken loudly though.

He should've just paid them off.

Does Watson need to win in the court of public opinion? Texans fans have a history with not only him but with management. A new team and it's fans may look at only what he brings on the field.
Reminds of Charles Barkley who at one point threw some guy through a window. Despite his play on the court he disgusted me. Not many games into his first season with Rockets I was saying along with announcer "backing it in".

Ultimately, it’s up to the Owner.
So, I think I just answered your question.

Really, this comes down to, “Do I trust this kid to not do worse than this in 2 years?”

This looks bad, we should allow the women to speak on what they believe happened without immediately being called liars, and Watson should be able to defend himself without immediately being called a rapist, way too many people are jumping to conclusions

Thought I was hearing criminal case because of certain allegations.

You don’t know that. Hop was traded because of his nasty response to Bill O’Brien and him forcing his way out of here.

If Watson is actually guilty of all this, it'll take more than a coming-to-Jesus-moment on TV to fix it.

And the first one to say Easterby gets dislikes on their next 20 posts.

Tiger was guilty too, although it was a lesser crime than what DW is accused of. He was never prosecuted, but he admitted his crimes...(without specifically enumerating them). In cases like this, it often comes down to how good the athelete is. In my opinion, from what we've heard so far, an NFL franchise QB should weather this storm and play again someday and make alot of money. But that is subject to change as this is a moving target at this point. There has been many instances, Kobe, Roethlisberger etc... The guys at the top seem to get through the mess, but an aging second rate running back for the Ravens... well that's another story.

I know the details of all these incidents vary, they're not all the same. Just like with Watson we'll never know all the facts of any of them. We'll always only be able to speculate and guess as to what happened. My point is, the greater the athlete, the bigger the star he is, the more he can get away with and DW is one of those that has a lot of cushion under him in this regard.

Always the chance that Caserio is more of that New England Patriot trash. Patriots last 5 drafts do not speak well for him.

I’m no lawyer. But depending on what the NFL investigation turns up, yes. Houston can nullify his new deal, the extension while still retaining his exclusive rights due to the 5th year option they picked up on his rookie deal. If he is not on the roster for six games, the clock keeps resetting on that fifth year.

If DW4 holds out and tries to comeback after sitting out 10 games, I think a pretty good case can be made for conduct detrimental to the team.
