Why in the world would you invest a late pick, in either of the 1st two rounds, on an admitted project? That's just asinine. I need to do some research, but I feel somewhat confident that late 1st and second round QB's have close to the same record/stats as later round QB's. The whole idea being that high 1st round talent gets more leeway than later picks. You guys buying into this philosophy crack me up. These kinds of decisions set franchises back years and decades, until the crapshoot comes through for them.
I also would truly like to know how anyone, especially some fan on a fan forum, can posit, with a presumably straight face, that Tom Savage has a ceiling or floor of anything! PLEASE give some indication of how you came to this conclusion. Savage has every opportunity to either become the next Brady or the next JaMarcus Russell. There isn't even a cousin to enough data to even remotely judge Savage. People get too caught up in draft position. Mario Williams is a servicable DE, but his #1 overall status drives his salary to stupid proportions.
