It would hurt me to lose Owen Daniels. I would hate to lose him.
But a first and a third?
I would find a way to live with that but I would continue to root for OD in Buffalo. We could maybe pick up that kid from Rice (Casey?) to go with Dreesen. With 2 firsts, we could even get Pettigrew.
I would be willing to bet one of these guys will be available in the third round. I think any of them would excell in our offense.
3. Shawn Nelson Southern Miss 6-5 240 4.65
4. Cornelius Ingram Florida 6-4 245 4.70
5. Chase Coffman Missouri 6-6 245 4.85
6. Travis Beckum Wisconsin 6-4 235 4.65
7. James Casey Rice 6-4 235 4.65
There would be so many possibilities with 2 first round picks it would make our minds explode. With 11 and 15 we could end up with 2 of Raji, Oher or A Smith. Thats what I call building the trenches. Plus we still have 9 more picks. If None of them are available we could trade down and get even more picks. That extra first round pick would give Smith alot of ammo to move around and get who he wants.
Imagine
11 Raji (Our cheaper Haynesworth)
15 Oher (OL upgrade somewhere)
46 Victor Harris CB (insurance for Dante)
75 (Bills) James Casey TE (OD's replacement)
77 Tyrone McKenzie OLB South Florida (Greenwoods replacement)
108 Jarett Dillard Rice WR (Andersons replacement, perfect for the slot)
118 (Minn) Pat White QB West Virginia (Sage's replacement)
144 Brandon Williams DE (pass rush specialist at a resonable price)
175 Emanuel Cook, SS/FS (at worst solid depth at the S position)
204 Gartrell Johnson Colorado State RB (Slatons backup)
206 Who cares.
