Another crazy oddity.

JJ Watt and D-Hop were at the UH game Saturday.

UH trailed until the starting QB left with an injury,
and the backup came in and rallied the team to
a victory. The win kept UH tied for first in the
American Athletic Conference.

The Texans trailed until the starting QB left with
an injury and the backup came in and rallied the
team to a victory. The win kept the Texans tied
for first in the AFC South.

Been a psycho year for Houston football fan.
 
I wasn't expecting this type of game at all. I was expecting a shellacking. Great ******** win tonight by our Texans. Knocked off an undefeated team in their building. First time all season I've been proud of this team.
 
This is the defense I have been expecting to see this season!!! This is the special teams I was hoping to see. Unfortunately, this was also the offense I would have expected to see with no Arian.

Great win! These are the types of wins that can spring board the team in a positive direction.

Other than the Patriots this defense should give us a good chance to win the rest of the way.

I'm not saying we should win y of the next seven, only that we should have a chance.
 
We got BIG questions after these past two games that need to be asked...

Does Kareem get his starting job back? Or maybe JoJo? All I know is we need Kjo to be on the field!
Does JD get his starting job back as the Jack over Whit?
Will we ever see Rahim Moore back on the field?
Are we going to continue to see less and less snaps for big Vince?

1. Yes. Kareem is the long term starter here. Kjo will play as nickle and start if necessary because of injury. Jjo's contract will force him to become a cut this off-season opening the door for a hof kjo career.

2. Jd will be mixed in as a starter and force romeo to get creative keeping mercy and jd both on the field. It's a bullet point here for discussion but less relevant then many might think. Jd cant stay healthy.

3. No. I was excited about the raheem signing but i was wrong. Bad instincts, bad angles, cant tackle. Hal can and has a nose for the ball.

4. Not on 1st and 2nd down unless matchups dictate nickle/dime coverage. Exactly who is our other nose tackle (?) which reminds me...f you again nix.
 
I'm not really surprised. Every year a really good team gets caught off guard by a lesser one. It reminds of me of Green Bay's 13-0 season being tarnished by a terrible 5-8 Kansas City in 2011.

At the same time, this is the defense we had all expected to see leading up to the season. These Houston players are better than their record, and tonight that came out.

The thing is - and I was saying this the first go round with TJ - that Yates IS Gary Kubiak. I remember Kubiak playing. Both Yates and Kubiak we're slappies at the NFL combine, they we're drafted late, and remember that Kubiak said he sees a lot of himself in Yates?

They are both that kind of scrappy backup who could manage a game for you, but always backups...and rightfully so! What was Kubiak, like 14 TDs and 16 INTs in his career? And what is Yates up to? 4 TDs and 7 INTs.

Hey, for a year where we've been fielding nothing but backups, we could do much worse than Yates. In fact, we have...Hoyer!
 
What a great night !!! We went down along the front row during pregame and JJ Watt was throwing a ball around to random fans as he ran around the stadium. He got to us and I yelled for a toss to my 9 year old son wearing a Watt jersey. He ran over to him and handed him the ball to keep. Official ball with the Texans print on it given to my son by his sports hero. Great time for him and my Houston friends who came in town. Don't even care my boys choked again in the spotlight. A night to remember for sure. Congrats to you all on a great win !!!
 
I'm on Pacific Time... so I'm still up and want to talk Texans. The secondary has gotten alot of deserved flack this season, but they played their ass off today. KJo was the player of the game by Gruden. JJo help keep AJ to pedestrian numbers and had an INT and big PD. Hal had an INT (in my eyes, not sure why there wasn't a challenge?) And Demps made the biggest defensive play of the game, a strip and fumble recovery to seal the game!

Everyone was flying around with energy..was nice to see, coming off a Bye..exactly what you want! We have a rough schedule remaining, but its not like the Jets are a powerhouse either...

I don't want to sound negative but why are there only a couple of recently replied to threads? Less people commenting or are they all in one thread now?

Still amazed we beat the undefeated Bengals at home.

Maybe our defense is a bit of what we thought it could be, because it ain't our offense winning games..... except Nuk. Is it wrong to like Nuk more than AJ?
