One #Texans stat that's astonishing. It took them six plays and 2:24 to drive 16 yards for a TD when there should've been a sense of urgency.

I'm not one to say I told you so ... oh wait, yeah I am. We've got 15 more games to see if our stupid ******* **** ass dumb **** coach can pull his head out of his ass and do something with the monster that is Romeo's defense. So, here's to optimism.
DW4's play last season coincided with BO'B calling the shots on offense. So I do think there could be a return to that. I am not holding my breath on that but I do know the two worked well together and believe they could again. It is possible that DW4 succeeded in spite of BO'B but to me it seemed BO'B spread things out and was much more aggressive in the pass game once DW4 got his chance. There is nothing in Bill O'Brien's history as a professional football head coach that points to this result.

I would’ve fired OB after his second year here.
Once he shipped off Fitz and brought in Hoyer I knew he was going to be bad news. That’s not the type of move good teams make. You replace Fotz with a clear upgrade or your q.b of the future. Not ******* Hoyer.
I do have a problem when Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Rivers have more preseason snaps than Watson. You cant do what's traditional in terms of reps with a young qb. Once again, no other playmakers beside Hopkins. You're not gonna beat Hoody with 1 threat. Fuller stays injured and Koutee is starting off like Fuller.
Ellington had his moments and how about utilizing those two big ash TEs we have and Miller out the backfield.
Ellington is fool's gold, preseason fun running crossing routes against vanilla defenses. To actually make him and our tightends into receivers, we need to mix up our playcalling and use route combinations that are at least as complex as what the commentator is predicting. I'm pretty sure Romo walked to the plane saying 'my head hurts' because he (nor anyone else) could make sense of our offense.
This guy just doesn't get it. This is the tipping point in O'Brien's career here in Houston.Bill O’Brien on not calling a TO to make it more likely the rags would review the Gronk catch: "It’s not my job to call a timeout there to make (the officials’) job easier." pic.twitter.com/ShfMzbYINy

I agree its only first game of the season, I don't think this will determine our season. However I would have loved to have this win especially when it comes to end of season and we are talking home field advantage. My takeaway....... relax guys....... 1st few games of the season across the league is trash because they don’t have traditional training camps anymore...... so these are really preseason games as everybody is finally using Live bullets and knocking the rust off...... that’s why defense and offense played better later in the game then earlier
Secondly we will look way better when we are not playing the GOAT COACH and the GOAT QB....... patriots will make everybody look bad this first few weeks most likely ....... we will look better against a team that’s not the defending afc champs ...... they always own us for the most part
Deshaun looked bad today but the line looked worse then him...... so that concerns me more then Deshaun being rusty....... and also without Will Fuller V and KeKe Coutee our offense will always be doomed because a defense just keys in on slow Deundre Hopkins and has nobody else they scared of so it’s easy to defend us without a weapon or threat opposite Hopkins........ so thats normal and expected as well ...... I’m more concerned that this Will Fuller V guy who we wasted a draft pick on might be fools gold cuz he can’t stay healthy to save his life as our offense is dooomed without some kinda deep threat to scare a defense out of Double coverage on Hopkins
Now I think we will be flying around next week and looking a lot better on both sides of the ball..... I expected rust from them this game
Now if after 3 or 4 games Deshaun is still looking Like a lame duck with Will Fuller and the whole offense available...... I would panic then...... today not so much
Good one. lolthe Oilers next week.
If you guys aren't worried that Watson is hurt you guys are worried about the wrong things.
Him going down means we have no chance of winning 6 games.
I need to know he's okay
This guy just doesn't get it. This is the tipping point in O'Brien's career here in Houston.
One of the reasons I can't stand this dude. Wow did he really say this crap.
I just heard it. BoB is a an above average college coach but he doesn’t belong in the NFL.
There's so much to point to. The game plan made zero sense. Put Watson in the pocket and give the Pats pass rush a target? No, man. Make their slow front move laterally and make the secondary worry about Watson running the ball. That was the ticket. O'Brien let the Pats defense dictate to him. That was never going to work.To me it was punting in the 4qtr. You nutted up instead of going for it. Luckily the PR muffed the punt but that That was like trump wussing out in front of Putin.
We’re in fan-Hell and I’m not sure it’s worth going through this **** at all.
Deshaun Watson 'I feel like I could have did more. As I go, the offense go. I held the ball too long. They can't block forever'

Clooney was clearly rusty
Mercy was clearly rusty
DW4 was clearly rusty
Watson is so late on every play. Just slow and confused.

Not too many rookies come in and are great right off the bat and stay great. They may have a great rookie season but then reality sets in season #2.Clooney was clearly rusty
Mercy was clearly rusty
DW4 was clearly rusty
No practice in preseason
Yeah he wasn’t good today. The thing is his mental make up is such that, we won’t see it again. The kid is a film junkie and u only have to tell him something once.
He’s gonna have growing pains this year for sure, fans may as well get ready for it.
When people say things like you did (bolded) you look silly or maybe you just don't look at facts. Yes Fuller was injured 2017 but in ten games he had 28 receptions for 423 yards a 15 yard avg and 7 TDs. He also returned 9 punts for 135 yards also a 15 yard avg which is huge. Two rushes for 9 yards isn't horrible for a speed WR. Fuller has to be out significant games or flop as WR this season to be a wasted pick.My takeaway....... relax guys....... 1st few games of the season across the league is trash because they don’t have traditional training camps anymore...... so these are really preseason games as everybody is finally using Live bullets and knocking the rust off...... that’s why defense and offense played better later in the game then earlier

With a good head coach would Watson have been "rusty"? Just a few more snaps in the preseason is all I asked forWith a good head coach I think we win today.
And that's with Deshaun Watson's struggles (rusty).
Some of us, CnnnD, Scooter, me, Herv, told y'all O'Brien (Mr. "Earn the right to put your name on your jersey in OTAs") should have played the ones in preseason until they looked sharp and earned the right to sit out the rest of the preseason. You don't wait until the games count to find out who's "rusty".My basic takeaways from the game:
O’Brien once again didn’t have the team ready to play. That has been my biggest complaint of him.
To me the biggest surprise was how confused and erratic Watson looked. I was wrong about how valuable pre season games are for veterans.
Anyone know status of Henderson. The tackle play is atrocious and if Lamm is in there it’s going to be worse.
As far as BOB’s quote that’s probably the stupidest, most infuriating thing a Texans coach has ever said.

Sounds good, but the owners will never go for that unless they can sell tickets. They might even want as much as half the price of a regular season ticket...If only there was a system in place where players could get live reps say about 4 times before the season started. Probably ought to look into putting that in the next CBA.
Problem is if this team figures it out, they will be at NE againThe bourbon is talking me into "this is just one game, let me see how they respond." Every OB team has started slow and got better as the season went along. I'd rather lose to NE now than in the playoffs, I guess. Chances are we'll lose both, but like I said, bourbon...
Problem is if this team figures it out, they will be at NE again

We are and you will. If I have to put up with this piece of **** with no ******* experience coaching us into the ******* ground, you have to stick around and endure failure too - like a Houston fan should lol.
