Nick Caserio introduces Jack Easterby...
Caserio's going to find something for Easterby to do and keep him under wraps. But, but, but Easterby! ..that’s all anyone wants to talk about.
Caserio's going to find something for Easterby to do and keep him under wraps.
Belichick was complimentary of Easterby’s role with the Patriots for six seasons wherein the club won three Super Bowls at the end of the 2014, 2016, and 2018 campaigns.
“Jack did a great job for us,” said Belichick. “His role was a varied one. He worked with a lot of different aspects of the organization — players, coaches, support people, so forth.
“He was a person who could connect well with everybody, from the owner of the team to the equipment manager or equipment guy that picks up towels and all the people in between. He was a very valuable person in this organization in the time he was here.”
With the number of times that Caserio said, "right". Did anyone else have a Charliey Casserly flashback?

"Hey, let's not talk about how many times I say hey. See?"Casserly always said "Hey" 6 times per sentence. That's the one I remember.
He’s perfectly qualified to manage as Head of concessions, drive thru confessionals and zoom baptisms. Also in charge of keeping the practice music on sunny 99.1Caserio's going to find something for Easterby to do and keep him under wraps.
now if everyone in the whole community can see this especially these forumsJust finished listening to Patrick storm with Seth Payneon a podcast and I feel better.
Basically said Texans aren’t trading Watson and that Watson hasn’t asked for a trade and doesn’t want toleave Houston.
Something along those lines.
He also mentioned it’s a toss up between Brady and daboll most likely

Houston has never gotten respect from national media. However, Watson has everyone's respect. The NFL would like nothing more than to have Watson play for a team they have more respect for...thus the unwarranted and biased reports lately.
If Bienemy declines the interview, I will be LMAO.![]()

The stories written about the Texans over the last few weeks can be written about almost every FO in sports b/c what it comes down to is not everyone in a work setting is fond of each other....no matter what the setting is. I’ve been in settings where well respected cardiologists are beefing with world renown surgeons for no other reason than ........ turf.
the only difference between that and what the Texans are going through is that someone from the inside is gossiping like a little @&$%# and the media is blowing it up.

I don't know if their biased. I think our management is just inept.

Dang, well those words certainly carry some weight considering the source.
What is so freakin' special about Jack Easterby that Cal McNair is willing to sacrifice the goodwill his daddy built in this city?
Seriously, there is nothing special about Jack, but the ownership seems incapable of seeing the optics of it all.
If Jack really is or is not the things he's accused of is irrelevant at this point. He's dead weight to this franchise and is not worth the effort of protecting him.
I guess you're fine with letting the players make mgmt decisions.
BTW, I hope DW4 stands his ground too. For different reasons.
"Things I never said" for $500, Alex.
Smoke and fire, man. It's a very simple concept.
I'm just curious why McNair seems so intent on keeping such a divisive person in his organization. It defies all logic, but there's probably more to the story than we will ever know.
And I guess YOU'RE fine with the craptastic QB carousel we've seen for too many seasons before #4 arrived. See how pulling stuff out of your assumptions works?
I am fine with it.
In fact I want Caserio to trade DW4 for the equivalent of 3 to four 1st rd picks and rebuild the team before getting a franchise QB. (What RS should've done before drafing DW4) I know you disagree with this but I happen to think they cant win with DW4 because of the amount of cap space he will be taking up in a couple of yrs. Not to mention I think he's a good but not nearly as good as most of this MB thinks he is. Bottom line is unless they can rebuild the team to championship quality in 2 yrs the prudent thing to do is move on. I guess the difference is I'm not scared of being able to find another top 10 QB and there's an outside chance you could find an even better QB. You must be gun shy and think they cant find another QB and are willing to roll with what they've got. I understand why you would think this way after the RS QB experience.
Nah, not gunshy at all. Just educated deeply about Houston pro football history.
Watson is the 2nd best QB this city has ever had, right behind HoF Warren Moon.
Unfortunately, it's not a very long list. David Carr probably makes the top 10. *shivers*
I'm just not ready to blow it up. I want to see what they can build around Watson. We will have plenty of time for more crappy QBs in our collective fan futures.
Yep DW4 and Moon both have an NFL legacy
35-3/51-7
It is what it is. Those chokes had as much to do with failed coaching as anything else. Last time I checked, neither Moon nor Watson play defense.
You seem to have a LOT more confidence in the Texans front office in finding QB talent.
I'm not sure what fuels that fantasy of yours, but I'm a pragmatic sort of guy that knows getting Watson was the blind squirrel getting his nut.
...never found a replacement for Brady? Garoppolo was fool's gold. I'm confident Caserio will fix this issue with Watson because he knows a good thing when he sees it.Why am I confident Caserio can find another QB? Because he...

Since when did playing a position in college make someone a good talent evaluator? Mike Devlin was the Big Ten offensive lineman of the year in college. I guess that makes him a great OL evaluator. Why am I confident Caserio can find another QB? Because he played QB in college and with the current/future cap situation there will be no championships. This is why I've been saying since last offseason we're in the middle of the lost decade.

It's funny reading your extreme optimism versus pessimism when it's someone you like versus someone youhatedislike. You crack me up.

I hope he does a good job too. But I'm not going to say he knows how to find a QB because he was a Division III college QB. What if they ran the triple option in college? Also, I'm already on record that I want Watson traded and I'm looking forward to reading your optimistic takes on the next QB.I dont like or dislike Caserio I hope he does a good job. He wont be able to do a good job with the lack of draft picks and the DW4 cap killing contract resrticting what he can do. So I would rather take a chance on a full rebuild than have a less than 10% chance at winning a championship continuing on with the status quo. My feelings on this topic are born out of 26 yrs of evidence. What are your feelings on this topic born out of besides fandom?

I didn't respond because I don't know what 26 years of evidence you are referring to. 26 years of evidence of playing, coaching, watching or just spit balling? Are you referring to yourself or Caserio? I want to make sure I give you a fact based response.I actually agree with you.
I notice you failed to reply to the last part of my post.

Not even close, I have never read anything creditable that Caserio was considering any team except Miami years back, who he turned down because they wouldn’t let him fire the HC, and the Texans who he has lots of personal connections with and who have been after him since before Bob died.
This Easterby convinced him line makes no sense seeing as Texans wanted Caserio before Easterby was ever hired. I would more believe BoB McNair and Cal identified Caserio years ago and that was who Bob wanted and Cal is getting the guy his late father wanted. Lucky for us he does seem to be qualified for the job.
I am okay with Nick Caserio but for him to be a great contract guy and not realize he had a clause in his own contract that kept him in New England and putting the Texans at high risk.![]()
I thought I read on here that The Texans had been spurned by Bieniemy already![]()

From the Florio guy,
You do not think that Nick working with and knowing intimately Belichick he would not run it by him "say I got a clause in my contract are you okay with me leaving?"I would say more that he expect NE to let him go seeing as that has been BB's MO for the past 20 years. If guys want to leave let them leave. Caserio was the first person BB ever stopped and rumor at the time was it caused hard feelings between him, BB and Kraft.
Why are you surprised? With all the upheaval with Dashaun supposedly, the horse may be out of the barn but the farmer still closes the door to make sure No other animals get out. Man I hope nobody thinks I'm comparing football players to animals.I thought I read on here that The Texans had been spurned by Bieniemy already![]()

League rules changed after the tampering charge. No because there was a very good case to be made that the Texans didn’t tamper and that the Pats didn’t have a legal leg to stand on. League rules state you can not prevent someone from taking a promotion like that so there were a lot of lawyers that chimed in that Texans could have won that fight unless BE was willing to name Caserio as the official GM which wasn’t happening.
I think ultimately Caserio and the Texans didn’t feel it was worth the hassle. Caserio knew the job would still be there, and just in case he signed a new contract with an escape clause, and Texans knew either Caserio comes or he doesn’t but either way it would be this year before he could really start working.
