NFL Random Thought of the Day

Is someone a little bit nutty? (This is not being posted with the intent of it being political)

Report: Aaron Rodgers has shared false Sandy Hook conspiracy theories in private conversations
By Mike Florio

You wanted attention, Aaron, and you’re getting it.

Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who is running as an independent, confirmed on Monday that he’s considering Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers as his running mate. Rodgers, who openly supports Kennedy but who has not political experience, has not denied it.

Until he does, or until Kennedy eliminates him from consideration, Rodgers will be subject to the probing eye of a far different segment of the media.

For example, Pamela Brown and Jake Tapper of CNN.com report that Rodgers has “in private conversations shared deranged conspiracy theories about the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting not being real.” Per the report, Rodgers communicated his views directly to Brown, at the Kentucky Derby in 2013.

Here’s the key line from the article: “Hearing that she was a journalist with CNN, Rodgers immediately began attacking the news media for covering up important stories. Rodgers brought up the tragic killing of 20 children and 6 adults by a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School, claiming it was actually a government inside job and the media was intentionally ignoring it.”
Rodgers, through his agency, declined comment to CNN.

CNN also cites another source, who contends that Rodgers has claimed that “Sandy Hook never happened. . . . All those children never existed. They were all actors.”
What about the parents of the killed children?
“They’re all making it up,” Rodgers allegedly said. “They’re all actors.”
Former NFL quarterback DeShone Kizer has suggested that Rodgers is a 9/11 truther. The supposedly ravenous New York media has never asked him about that.
If he runs for the second highest office in the land, it’s all fair game. He’ll be asked every question about every conspiracy theory he has ever embraced.
And he should be. American citizens deserve to have the information on which they can assess whether a candidate for position of significant power and influence is normal, or a nutcase.
Before Rodgers decides to share his Sandy Hook views publicly, however, he should do his own research on what happened to Alex Jones for pushing the idea children weren’t killed at Sandy Hook and that their parents are actors. His decision to spew such nonsense resulted in a very real $1.5 billion civil judgment.

RFK Jr is also considering Jesse Ventura... ain't that scary!!???

So guess this means there was no or very little interest in this particular WR ?
Maybe the Texans have decided to look solely to the Draft to add to their WR group ?
Not at that kind of money .

Caserio still has to find a DT and a S in FA. There's not enough money to pay top dollar WR money. I was one of the first to advocate for signing Ridley. I had no idea his market would be that strong

I believe DT and S will be filled in the draft. Both DT- T'Vondre Sweat (Texas) and S- Jaden Hicks (Washington State) should be available for the Texans with their RD2 and RD3 picks. Both would be excellent answers for those positions while being much cheaper than the veteran options.

I guess Stephanski is bowing down to Derrick's wishes to have an all minority QB room. Flacco had a better yr than Derrick did, cant have this on the team if you're Derrick.

I think there's something at play, but not what you think. I think it has more to do with saving face. Flacco outplayed Watson. By a lot. Flacco balled in Celevland. Now look at both the draft capital and $$$ paid to Watson. You think ownership wants egg foo young on their face? If Flacco goes to camp, and again clearly outplays Watson - that's a major issue. For Watson. For the coaching staff. For team morale. And for ownership. By getting a decent player, but not one likely to outplay Watson in camp...or certainly not so much that they HAVE to bench Watson and play Winston, they save face. There's no white/black conspiracy. The colors involved are greenbacks and red faces.

As for Rogers, he is one of the dumbest people on the face of the planet. That even dopier RFK likes him enough to consider him as a running mate says all I need to know about both of these idiots.

Well Steel I got to plead ignorance because I'm way behind the curve on the Titans signing of
Ridley, but yea 92 M with 50M guaranteed over 4 years for Ridley who is turning 30 this year is goofey !

Vander Esch was released with a failed physical designation, while Gallup was listed as a post-June 1 cut. The Gallup decision opens up $9.5 million in cap space this season, but he will count $8.7 million against the 2025 salary cap.

The Browns have hired Mike Vrabel as coaching and personnel consultant. The Browns announced that the choice came from both their GM and HC. Including Stefansky in this announcement is BS. Stefansky will be looking over his shoulder if/when Watson again fails to deliver.:choke:

Imagine winning coach of the year and the team already hires your replacement to “shadow” you.

Wow it's amazing how fast these QBs depreciate in value after they have been drafted if they fall short of their expectations: QBs like Fields & Pickett are being traded away for late round picks, kinda crash in value like when you drive a new car off of the lot.

It looks like teams have finally come to the realization that taking on .500 (at best) midling reclamation project QBs is not the answer.

If you don't have 'the guy' at that position it's time to reset and try to get him rather than hop on the also-ran treadmill.

You either have a QB you can win with - Mahomes, Stroud, Burrow, Allen, etc.

QBs that you think will figure it out - Herbert, Prescott, Lawerence, Tua, Murray, etc

QBs that are journey men-
Carr, Mayfield, Cousins etc

QBs that are predators -
Watson

Or picks you are moving on from
Fields, Pickett, etc

You can’t spend years waiting or you just waste time. Murray, Prescott and Lawerence are QBs that I don’t think will ever get to a Super Bowl.

Opinions of course. Except the predator thing. That’s a fact.

That's because these QBs are overvalued to begin with. As a passer Fields almost has identical numbers to Davis Mills. We're talking bottom third of the league. Don't see much value in that. Fields does add some value with his legs, but you need to be able to play QB in this league, read defenses, look off defenders, throw receivers open, etc. and not just be a RB playing the QB position.
