NFL Random Thought of the Day

The Chiefs and Lions are two of the hotter teams in the league not named the Cowboys, and the Texans beat both of them just fine this year! Hopefully we can go 6-0 in the division this year and clinch the 2016 AFC South. We'll still be playoff bound despite a roller coaster season.

And then?

Julio Jones is injured again.......with a turf toe. He hasn't practiced all week, and although he is hopeful for playing Sunday, it is unlikely that he does so.............and perform decently if he plays.

And then?
Brock osweiler out does Hoyers playoff performance of 2015 by throwing 5 INTs.

Unfortunately This is much more likely to happen than the pie in the sky over the top optimistic view others have. This is based on past performance so I have no earthly idea where someone could even say this Texans team can make the Super Bowl with a straight face.

If you're gonna have a fantasy, might as well be a good one...

Besides, I don't know of any predicting SB other than BoP

Rams fire Fisher?? Didn't they just extend him???

I thought so too. Yep, just googled and Fisher signed the extension before the 1st preseason game, but the story was only leaked last week. If I didn't know better I would think the Rams are embarrassed about the signing. Well, I'll bet they are after yesterday...lol. What a mediocre coach to have had such a long NFL coaching career.

This is the Rams doing Fisher a favor. Firing a coach in a short week is an awful decision but this protects Fisher from breaking the NFL record for losses.

Or they don't want to watch their franchise logo paraded around with that distinction all next week and there after..

I heard someone say if a coach is fired during the season, management must have been thinking about it during the offseason. I wonder what made them decide not to fire him in the offseason, then what exactly triggered the decision to let him go now.

I don't know, but 42-14 hastened whatever timetable was already set in motion. It could be also his extension would have to be bought out if he got past this week. Just guessing, though.

The fan base has wanted him fired for years but management really liked him for some reason and stuck with him. To their detriment. Now they're at the point where they just moved away from a loyal fan following to a city full of front runners who don't care about them because they are losers. Firing Fisher is really the only way to keep their remaining loyal fans invested.

I was hoping Fisher would cement his legacy as a loser.

Keep on cashing those checks Jeff. You fooled them for over 2 decades.

Good Lord, how bad are the Browns? Will this season they are having go down as one of the worst ever in NFL history? Will they run the table and go 0-16? I think they will on the latter.... This is what they get for those awful ass looking uniforms.

I just love to see them suffer...:heh: :jam: I guess its old AFC Central feelings coming back to me.

That's what you get after years of thinking tanking for a high round draft pick is better than playing your ass off for a Wildcard bounce.

Saw vikings activated Peterson..from what i vaguely remember CND was thinking it was best that they wait..unless i am wrong

I never want to hear Tony Kornhole, or anybody for that matter, make fun of the Texans all red uni's after seeing Seattle's snot-green look tonight. They sacked Goff and all I could think of was Goff got slimed.

Mark my words, Seattle will not go far in the playoffs with that offensive line.

I had to turn the game off... the eye pain was just too much

The lime green neon uniforms aside, there have been some vicious highlight reel hits in this game and punters look silly running the ball.

There's been a lot of talk on this board about watching the Texans then watching other teams go at it and how, when watching those other teams, the game just seems more fast-paced, hard hitting, and more interesting. I can't argue with that sentiment.

If you've read my posts in the past about Jones fractures, you know that these types of fractures are notorious for fracturing a second time. WR Marquess Wilson originally a 1st rounder for the Bears, suffered a Jones fracture the end of last year and was placed on IR missing 5 games. He re-fractured it last spring and missed the 1st 10 games of this season. Now he's suffered a 3rd Jones fracture of the same (left) foot in week 13, missed week 14, and will miss that rest of the 2016 season.

Tannehill is in a cast..............with a partial ACL tear and an MCL supposedly torn off with an attached portion of the tibia bone.

[Edit: an update by Tannehill reports that he has a partial ACL tear but with only part of his MCL torn off the bone (Grade II)..................does not make sense, as neither of these last descriptions of his injuries would require his newly reported "wearing full leg casting and hobbling around on crutches."]
