NFL Random Thought of the Day

And they fall forward, banging their heads against the turf? Will concussions increase? Will there be unintended consequences?
They have a chance to soften the fall with their arms but with a hip drop tackle once your legs are in the wrong position you have no chance whatsoever.

Does anyone still consider Josh McDaniel an offensive genius or even a good HC candidate? This guy drafted Tim Tebow in the 1st round. He gets another HC shot with the Raiders, gets rid of Carr but brings in injury prone Jimmy Garoppolo and Brian Hoyer is his backup. As many could have predicted. Garoppolo is injured and Hoyer will start tomorrow.

I'm surprised he didn't try to sign Brady.

Looking at all those names it appears Mark Davis got Tommy Boy'd by the patriot way method..

Could be the Dumb and Dumber version..

Everyone is so excited and surprised by about Jalen Ramsey's return to practice after sustaining a meniscus tear the end of July. He had been extensivvely reported to have a meniscus repair and was questionable to return to play before the end of the season.........at the end of Dec. The truth is that this is no miracle as I discovered 4 weeks ago that Ramsey did not undergo a meniscus "repair." He in fact had a very small outer rim tear which lent itself to a simple small "excision/trim." If it had been a "repair," no way would he be able to return this season, even in the event of a Super Bowl run in Feb.

Stefanski would not say whether the Browns are considering putting Watson on injured reserve, which would open up a roster spot but force Watson to miss at least the next four games.

"He's getting better," Stefanski said, "he's a competitive kid, he's working hard."

Why is it called a "dirty" hit?

If an OLman moves before the snap do we call that a dirty get off? If he holds do we call it a dirty block? If a DE doesn't get off the field in time, is that a dirty substitution?

Illegal block in the back... yeah, that's dirty. Cut block while a player is already engaged, yeah... that's dirty. Tripping, yeah that's dirty.

But these "defenseless receiver" hits... I agree with the call, I respect the safety of the players, but it's still a tough thing to do with the speed of the game & all the moving parts.

Im not going to say KJax intended this or that. Maybe he's wreckless & careless, but I don't think he's trying to injure anyone.

I think you need to see at least one of the hits [watch Video] in question..........they are all similar. He's been in the league quite a while and the way he hits "may" have been more acceptable 10 years ago. The game isn't the same one he learned and he isn't changing.

No offense taken. I did see at least one of the hits before my last post. I'm not arguing the call or the punishment, only people calling it a "dirty" hit.

It's as illegal as a PI, or a facemask, or hands to the face. They require more self-control than Jackson is evidently willing to employ. But I don't think it's a dirty hit. If that were Pitre he wouldn't have been ejected & nobody would be calling it "dirty."

If that were Jackson's first time to lead with his head and knock a player out it wouldn't either... it's getting to be a weekly thing with him
I understand that. It's part of my argument.

It's an illegal hit. It's a good call by the refs. But it's just a penalty. He's not like Ndamukong...

The intent, I don't believe, is malevolent. He's just stupid.

Why did he just start with the hits like that?

The original report was for a felony damage of $25000. Speaking to a KC friend, his girlfriend, who he dragged through the home, did not want to testify against him and minimized the damage he did to the home. Maybe they kiss and make up now...........

What game are they playing in the NFL these days? Because it sure isn't football.
