In addition to Russell Wilson's mallet finger injury, imaging now has discover a comminuted (splintered) fracture/dislocation of the proximal phalanx of the same finger..........much worse injury than first thought.

I would like to clarify my understanding of the league policy so I’m asking this here.

this “makes sense, if they’re assuming a false positive of the vaccinated player & accounting for the incubation period in the unvaccinated player.

If it were reversed, & the unvaccinated player tested positive he’s got to be away from the team for 10 days & still have to test negative twice, 24 hours apart.

close contact for the vaccinated player means he is only subject to two negative tests 24 hours apart.

Wouldn’t you think it should be the same regardless? If you got it & test negative twice 24 hours apart… you should be good right?

If you were in contact with a Covid case, isn’t the incubation period the same for both? I mean they know vaccinated people do contract & therefore are capable of spreading the virus.

This is one of the reasons why the NFL COVID Protocol does not make sense:

It can take over a week after exposure to COVID-19 to have a positive test result.

If you are fully vaccinated, you should wait three to five days after exposure before getting a test. Evidence suggests that starting testing tends to be less accurate within three days of exposure.

If you aren’t fully vaccinated, quarantine right away after you’ve been exposed to someone with COVID-19. If you develop symptoms, get tested right away. Otherwise, wait five to seven days.

But COVID-19’s incubation period lasts up to 14 days. If you have the virus, it takes time to build up in your system. Early testing can result in samples that don’t contain enough of the virus’ genetic material to show a positive result. A COVID-19 test is limited in that it represents only a snapshot in time. A negative PCR test for COVID-19 does not mean that an individual is free of infection, but rather that, at that particular moment, the sample did not contain viral levels at a high enough concentration to be measured as a positive.

Get him healthy and change the name on the back of his uniform, “Trade-For-Me”. Scharping and Heck did no worse than when Cannon was in there. Maybe Cannon returns a RD6 or RD7.

Cannon had no value other than a vet minimum player prior to Caserio trading for him. And less than that, now.
 
The Lions have lost 2 games this season on time expiring, very long distance FGs, 54 yards and an NFL record 66 yards. Both games were 19-17 losses.

Oh, and 51 years ago when Tom Dempsey set the FG record at 63 yards, it was against the Lions, that record breaking FG came with time expiring, handing the Lions a 19-17 loss.

Every Saturday the Lions need to sign whomever the center is on the Pistons for 48hrs just to have him line up against long FG attempts.

that's a fantastic stat.
 
Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster suffered a shoulder dislocation/fracture. Therefore, relocation was not possible in stadium. Surgical repair was necessary to reduce the dislocation and address the fracture. He will likely require further labral surgery. His season is over.

I'd be somewhat hesitant to go after Flowers. Up to last year, he performed elite. However, last year Flowers fractured his forearm which included his wrist in Week 8, was placed on IR, and when he returned in Dec, he was placed on IR again for a grade II hamstring tear.............essentially missing the final 9 games of the season. In week 2 this year, he suffered a grade II MCL and a shoulder subluxation (missing week 3 and 4)...........an injury he had previously suffered in 2015 (He appeared in just 1 game as a rookie and was placed on IR on December 1 with a shoulder dislocation.).

This is his first experience with a hamstring tear...........he is anxious to play Sunday................I hope he tethers his enthusiasm for one more week, as even with that extra week, he remains significant risk for recurrent injury.

Looks like McCaffrey has had a setback.
 
Cowboys LT Tyron Smith popped up on the Injury Report with a neck injury that has limited him in practice. The Boys are not saying they are concerned. But after being dogged with back and nick injuries since 2016, he finally decided he had to have the surgery for a herniated cervical disc and did so Oct 2020, missing the rest of the season. MRI results are pending. No matter what, under the circumstances, you don't want to hear anything about new neck injuries.

Why?

He's looked like he's making as good of decisions with the ball as any QB in that draft.

1. He's a 3rd round pick. How many of those make it to a franchise QB level?
2. He had 13 (I think) post high school games under his belt when drafted. Just not enough to know his true potential.

I certainly hope he works out. I think he was worth a 3rd round pick. But we'll just have to see. Sometimes these work out. Most of the time, they don't.

Tell this to Brady/Dak/Wilson/Cousins etc...

I try to judge players by how they play, not where they were drafted. So far Mills has looked promising.

Sure. That's 4 out of how many in how many years? Players are drafted where they're drafted for a reason. Doesn't mean they can't outplay their draft spot, but overall, especially for a QB, it's an uphill battle.

I hope Mills beats the odds. This franchise needs something to go their way.

That's 3 out of the last 6-7 yrs.

If you want to go back, look at my favorite QB as a child, Staubach also add Tarkenton to this group. How about Moon and Cunningham, Montana, and the Redskins QB's Rypien/Scroeder. These are just off of the top of my head.

Anyways, the point is every generation has 2-5 QB's that are obtained outside of the 1st rd.

I'm not sure what you're arguing. And I'm not even disagreeing with you. You're just proving my point. Odds are against him being one of those 2-5.

Historically means based on past results. Mills is not playing QB for the Texans…..in the past. His first NFL season is still in process so historically has absolutely nothing to do with his now. Until this season is in the books or his playing days are over…..no one can say with any absolute certainty where he’ll be categorized. I have every hope that he continues his progress and his coaches continue to build on his success. For Mills and the Texans, I’d like to see his story become every bit as successful as that other nobody (at the time) drafted in RD6 by the Patriots.

Just saw your question. I'll try to answer it.

Ward lost his left ACL as a consequence of a bicycle accident at age 4. People with knee joints that lack ACL’s tend to develop a knee joint where the femur bone fits into the tibia a bit like a shallow ball and socket joint. A knee joint without an ACL uses the meniscus to perform the same function. The meniscus is a tough rubbery cartilage that normally acts as a shock absorber between the tibia and fibula. In order for their meniscus to serve the same function as the ACL, the meniscus undergoes deformation.............thickening and deepening to make it better suited for tensile loading and stabilization. The adaptive abilities of the human body are remarkable. This process occurs in cases of congenital absence of an ACL and an acquired loss of the ACL.
