Per the NFL’s COVID protocols, if a player is vaccinated and asymptomatic, they are eligible to return when they can produce two negative test 24 hours apart from each other. If a player is unvaccinated, they must be away from the team a minimum of 10 days regardless of symptoms.
This is one of the reasons why the NFL COVID Protocol does not make sense:I would like to clarify my understanding of the league policy so I’m asking this here.
So if the Vaccinated player tested positive. He can play as soon as he has two negative tests 24 hours apart.
If the unvaccinated player was a close contact he’s got to stay away from the team a minimum of 10 days.
this “makes sense, if they’re assuming a false positive of the vaccinated player & accounting for the incubation period in the unvaccinated player.
If it were reversed, & the unvaccinated player tested positive he’s got to be away from the team for 10 days & still have to test negative twice, 24 hours apart.
close contact for the vaccinated player means he is only subject to two negative tests 24 hours apart.
Wouldn’t you think it should be the same regardless? If you got it & test negative twice 24 hours apart… you should be good right?
If you were in contact with a Covid case, isn’t the incubation period the same for both? I mean they know vaccinated people do contract & therefore are capable of spreading the virus.

Cowboys are releasing Jaylon Smith
In a surprise move, the Cowboys are releasing linebacker Jaylon Smith, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.profootballtalk.nbcsports.com
Consistent with my thoughts. This is what Culley had to say about Marcus Cannon:
Cannon had no value other than a vet minimum player prior to Caserio trading for him. And less than that, now.Get him healthy and change the name on the back of his uniform, “Trade-For-Me”. Scharping and Heck did no worse than when Cannon was in there. Maybe Cannon returns a RD6 or RD7.
Every Saturday the Lions need to sign whomever the center is on the Pistons for 48hrs just to have him line up against long FG attempts. The Lions have lost 2 games this season on time expiring, very long distance FGs, 54 yards and an NFL record 66 yards. Both games were 19-17 losses.
Oh, and 51 years ago when Tom Dempsey set the FG record at 63 yards, it was against the Lions, that record breaking FG came with time expiring, handing the Lions a 19-17 loss.
that's a fantastic stat. The Lions have lost 2 games this season on time expiring, very long distance FGs, 54 yards and an NFL record 66 yards. Both games were 19-17 losses.

That looked brutal, I wish the young man a speedy recovery.Having watched highlights of the Cardinals game, I am surprised that TE Maxx Williams has not been found to have ruptured his ACL.
Question Doc, if I recall Hines Ward was missing his ACL in one of his knees. I can’t recall why or how it occurred but How on earth is it even possible to play missing it??Chargers OG Oday Aboushi sustained an ACL rupture yesterday.................ACL #28.
I'd be somewhat hesitant to go after Flowers. Up to last year, he performed elite. However, last year Flowers fractured his forearm which included his wrist in Week 8, was placed on IR, and when he returned in Dec, he was placed on IR again for a grade II hamstring tear.............essentially missing the final 9 games of the season. In week 2 this year, he suffered a grade II MCL and a shoulder subluxation (missing week 3 and 4)...........an injury he had previously suffered in 2015 (He appeared in just 1 game as a rookie and was placed on IR on December 1 with a shoulder dislocation.).

Looks like McCaffrey has had a setback.Christian McCaffrey Press Conference
Sounds like a player you would want, not only for his performance prowess, but for his attitude. He speaks out about Thursday Night Football games. Very much worth listening to.
This is his first experience with a hamstring tear...........he is anxious to play Sunday................I hope he tethers his enthusiasm for one more week, as even with that extra week, he remains significant risk for recurrent injury.
I don't want anyone's throwaway QB in DW4 trade. I want their first round picks and other starters. Then use one (or more) of those picks to get the next QB in the draft.Hurts sucks. If #4 goes to Philly they can keep Hurts
The last remaining 'perfect kicker' this season is Atlanta's Younghoe Koo. (pronounced young-hweh, alas.)

Or just hope Mills continues to play as well as he did against Belichick's defense on a consistent basis.
We can definitely hope, but it's too early to tell and odds are against him turning out to be the next franchise QB. But yeah, if he continues to improve and have games like last week, even better.
I keep seeing that odds are against him?
Why?
He's looked like he's making as good of decisions with the ball as any QB in that draft.
1. He's a 3rd round pick. How many of those make it to a franchise QB level?
2. He had 13 (I think) post high school games under his belt when drafted. Just not enough to know his true potential.
I certainly hope he works out. I think he was worth a 3rd round pick. But we'll just have to see. Sometimes these work out. Most of the time, they don't.
Tell this to Brady/Dak/Wilson/Cousins etc...
I try to judge players by how they play, not where they were drafted. So far Mills has looked promising.
Sure. That's 4 out of how many in how many years? Players are drafted where they're drafted for a reason. Doesn't mean they can't outplay their draft spot, but overall, especially for a QB, it's an uphill battle.
I hope Mills beats the odds. This franchise needs something to go their way.
That's 3 out of the last 6-7 yrs.
If you want to go back, look at my favorite QB as a child, Staubach also add Tarkenton to this group. How about Moon and Cunningham, Montana, and the Redskins QB's Rypien/Scroeder. These are just off of the top of my head.
Anyways, the point is every generation has 2-5 QB's that are obtained outside of the 1st rd.
I'm not sure what you're arguing. And I'm not even disagreeing with you. You're just proving my point. Odds are against him being one of those 2-5.
I keep seeing that odds are against him?
Why?
For me it's simple: He's being "developed" by the Houston Texans. Those are long odds for success. JMO![]()
I’ll give it a better chance at succeeding since the Texans have a new coaching staff and the QB coach is coming off preparing Herbert for his success in San Diego.
Just saw your question. I'll try to answer it.Question Doc, if I recall Hines Ward was missing his ACL in one of his knees. I can’t recall why or how it occurred but How on earth is it even possible to play missing it??
McCaffrey will not be able to play Sunday.Looks like McCaffrey has had a setback.
