NFL Random Thought of the Day

Kinda like what some want to do with Tunsil here.

BTW, for all of the stats geeks, I read on twitter that Hurts graded out higher than Dak last night.

LMAO
Do you have a link? Whoever said that was full of shiite. The only thing Hurts graded out higher on was pick 6s.

PFF should just stop posting grades if they have Hurts over Prescott.

I'll stick with the much maligned passer rating, thank you. Prescott 143.3, Hurts 86.1.

Exactly

These numbers are part of the equation, they aren't a be all end all.

This is why I discount posters that just put numbers out there with little or no context.

Lions released LB Jamie Collins.

Collins is a vet and former Patriot. There has to be some interest from Caserio, no?

Then again, if Caserio were interested he would have sent the Lions a 5th round pick.

I’m sure he’s waiting for the Pats to re-up him for the year so he can get another team to give him a big contract FA 2022.

I wouldn’t mind bringing him in over Cunningham though the way he’s been playing…

BTW. For those still interested. Will Fuller played his first game this year.
He was injured last game...............2 injuries in fact...........a bruised ribs AND a hyperextended elbow.............he was not able to practice today.................he will miss games.

James White ruled out for season due to hip injury sustained last game. Despite being injured early in the second quarter he sits 4th on the team in targets. His replacement, Brandon Bolden, received 4 targets in relief.

Jones will be missing White as a safety blanket in the passing game.

How Peyton and Eli Manning Are Changing Television

Let the Mannings host everything: football, baseball, basketball, golf, tennis, curling, dog shows, bake-offs, royal weddings, moon landings, Loch Ness mysteries, New Year’s Eve and probably even election night.

That appears to be the widening sentiment after three weeks of retired NFL quarterback brothers Peyton and Eli Manning co-hosting a bespoke, alternate version of ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.”

Jags WR DJ Clark was carted of the field with what was said to be an "ankle injury." Looks like the mechanism for a high ankle sprain. It wouldn't surprise me if it included a fracture. Don't think he'll be back anytime soon.

:hankpalm:This is much more than UNREAL!!! Another reason the ball needs a chip!

Dan Campbell: NFL told me delay of game is “a subjective call”
Posted by Michael David Smith on October 1, 2021, 2:04 PM EDT

Lions coach Dan Campbell said today that he called the league office for an explanation and was told that delay of game is a subjective penalty.

“It’s really a subjective call is really what it came down to,” Campbell said, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “So I think they’re kind of split on it. Some are — it’s just, you guys have heard the procedure of it and I’ll be honest with you, I don’t even, I’m so over it now.”

Unlike in basketball, where the shot clock clearly defines whether or not a violation has taken place, in football the play clock is not so clear because an official looks at the play clock, then looks at the ball to see whether it has been snapped, and some officials take longer than others to shift their eyes and throw their flags.

Besides AJ Brown and Julio Jones, the Titans will be without edge rusher Bud Dupree with a knee injury and CB Caleb Farley after his shoulder subluxation........while their punter Brett Kern will not be able to go due to a groin tear. Luckily they play the hapless 0-3 Jets.

We don’t play Tennessee until the back end of November. Any of those injuries expected to keep them out until December? Or 7 weeks at least?

I can agree! I recorded the game and ended up watching it twice just to see what I missed the first time in their hosting. I was very disappointed when Peyton said that they wouldn’t be back until week 7.

This is horse manure. There was a solid two seconds passed before the ball was snapped. Lions got hosed

Each of these players injuries can affect their play and re-injury risk as the season goes on. Depending on how Farley's rehab goes, he could eventually require surgery. Julio is playing on borrowed time with his hamstring issues, so is Brown. The Titans string of injuries does not look promising for the future. Anything can happen by 7 weeks.............and it probably will, but I am not Miss Cleo.

The rare time Belichick gets a question he deems worthy of an honest answer. Always great when Belichick gives the football world a real thorough answer. Off the top of his head gives a 10 minute answer about long snappers and the evolution of the position! The man is an amazing historian:

Love this guy.

Those that dont are just jealous of excellence.
