Mock Draft among boardmembers?

Bears Picks
1. Leonard Pope TE
2. Davin Joseph OG
3. Spencer Havner OLB

The biggest problem area the bears have had is with the passign game. Pope will be a stud TE that will dramatically improve the offensive game. He can be a big go to guy in goal line situations as well as become a great short yardage target.

In keeping with the passing game, the Oline needed some help on the guard position. There is a strong possibility their LG will leave this offseason and Jospeh would be a great person to step in right away. Even if the OG does not leave this season the RG is getting up there in age and Joseph would be a solid youngster to be groomed into stepping in for the next decade.

These two moves will dramatically improve the offense.

As if the Bear D was not nasty enough, we were fortunate to find Havner waiting for us. Hunter Hillenmeyer is a decent OLB, but not great. If there is a potential hole in the front 7 it is he. Havner can provide solid depth as he works his way onto the team and in a couple of years a feared starter. We believe him to be a real steal if he projects the way we believe he can be.

Our third move improved the league's stingest D!

So there you have it. I would appreciate yalls draft grades and comments.

The Texans draft
1. D'Brick, OT, Virginia
35. Nick Mangold, C, Ohio State
39. Abdul Hodge, MLB, Iowa
93. Ray Edwards, DE, Purdue

I think I did a pretty good job in filling needs and picking up possible star prospects. D'Brick and Mangold will help the O-Line immediately and within a couple years could be at pro bowl level. A true MLB is needed with the 4-3 and I think Hodge fits that spot perfectly. With the opportunity to add a good DE at the end of round 3, I couldnt pass...It was either him or McGlover, but he got selected ahead of my slot. Overall I think its a solid draft and if the real Texans go that route I wouldnt be dissapointed. So lets here what everyone else has to say about it.

Ok just submitted my last draft choices to Dunta_23, and I have to say I love picking at the end. Aside from the fact that I have to wait forever to actually pick; When it gets to me great players drop down, and they can be signed for a lot less money. Picking higher is a lot more pressure, and you have to pay so much more for them.

Anyway I give myself an A in this draft. No I didn't try to replace "The Bus", but how can you replace a legend? :D

Thanks for everyone that participated in the draft, for the most part it went smoothly...Im suprised that not alot of ppl have chimed in on some of the teams picks. Especially the Texans...I would be happy if the 4 players I selected are in Texas for training camp..:yahoo:

The saints in my opinion even if they only had two picks but they got a franchise QB That scored a 35 in the wonderlic wich is what counts now well may be only for vince young:stirpot: but they also got a very good Lt in Eric winston.:stirpot:

so which teams had the best draft?

Just glancing looks like San Fran cleaned up. Getting Vernon at #22 and Lawson in the late first they get what now looks like a top ten and possibly top twenty pick. Not to mention some serious athletes. In addition they added Thomas Howard who I haven't seen much of but apparently has big potential and Martin Nance who is rated pretty high but doesn't have the hype fell to them in the 3rd. All great athletes that addressed positions of need. Good job texman8

Good pick, Dunta (Bullocks)
On TEs...All the real good ones are gone...David Thomas is there but he is more of a H-Back..not a good blocker....Hopefully,we'll picked up Putzier for TE.

Dunta, im going out of town for a week, but if im not back when its my turn, i leave my team temporarily in your capable hands....but game on with the draft.

Looking to deal any picks for any current Texans???
No. With the way things are going with the CBA, and being about 21M under, I will wait on the cap cuts around the league. Unless you are talking about AJ or your namesake that is.:)

Either we draft in order or we should just forget about the 4th round...it gets to be a bit crazy if we are just going to throw names out there...

I did vote in order, as did the Packers. 24 hours had passed & neither the Saints, nor Titans, had shown up to make their picks. Thus, the 12 hour clock had expired on both of them. If the rules have changed, then remove my pick & I'll wait again.

Thats fine, Round 4 is back on track...

97. Daniel Bullocks, S, Nebraska
98. Babatunde Oshinowo, DT, Stanford
99. Justin London, MLB, UCLA
100. Kevin Boothe, OG/OT, Cornell
101. Jerious Norwood, RB, Miss. St

Sorry I could not make my pick, I got home late last night from a hockey tournement in Ann Arbour then had to go to school. I would like to change my pick, but if I can't it is okay, I was late.

Barrick Nealy will learn from one of the better quaterback's in the league (fundamental wise) and then in a year or two take over and wreak havoc with that amazing recieving crew. Dual threat with his legs, something Warner is not.

Sorry I couldn't show up for my pick. I actually wanted Wilkinson (who was promptly taken after my pick), but Webb is fine.

The Bucs GM hasnt been around for 4 days....so should I wait the 12 hrs or just select now and keep it moving?

Im not crazy about going 7 rounds as it takes quite a bit of time to keep everyone going usually..If the majority of ppl want to keep going then we can

i'll take over more teams if nesacary, i think we should definitely go 7 rounds, we've gone this far might as well go all the way

I really dont see this thing going to 7 rounds....Ive had to make the last few picks myself...I think we should call it a draft after this round.
