Mock Draft among boardmembers?

Im personally not really familiar with the Falcons D line other than Rod Colemand and Patrick Kerney...seems like a solid pick...everyone says you have to build from the line out..and look...out of the first 15 picks...6 are either D or O line..

Dunta, how many rounds are we doing?

I think most ppl here decided on 3....I guess once we finish up 3 if there is still interest we could continue... or just wait for the board moderated mock draft...doesnt matter to me.

Just wondering, if Ferguson is drafted #1 by Texans, how will that affect rookie contract since OL don't get as large a contract as QB? Will there be a problem with signability?

:brickwall All right who signs up for a mock draft and then is'nt around when its their turn ?

It looks like Toro hasn't been on the board for 5 days. I guess it's looking like a safe bet that his whole 24 hours will be used. Oh well.

The Vikings GM PM'd me his selection a couple days ago so I am going to put it up and then in the morning if Toro hasnt picked yet I will look and see who would be the best fit for him...The Vikings Select Lendale White, RB, USC

I checked a bunch of mocks and they are all taking either Cutler or a DB in the first....seeing that Cutler is gone....Should I select them Ty Hill, Ko Simpson, Ashton Youboty, Antonio Cromartie????

The Chargers decided to give Brees another target. McCardell is getting older and having a guy like Holmes to go with Tomlinson and Gates was too good to pass up. Matchup problems all around. Rivers is available for a 1st round pick and future consideration for any team needing a QB.

TY Hill I believe is the consensous pick. Ko Simpson is a late 1st early 2nd, Youboty early 2nd and Cromartie 2nd or 3rd rd. (been hurt all year and is a Junior).

I see a lot of Huff and Bing on finheaven.com.

Tye Hill's stock is fastest on the rise... ala Dunta... could easily go here or higher.

Thanks for the chance Dunta_23 and props on the mock draft so far to all of you, i should be making my pick soon, i am waiting to hear back on two trades i am currently negotiationg.

It looks like the Patriots are jumping the gun. The Chiefs have the 20th pick and the Pats have the 21st selection. Near as I can tell, though, the 49ers are on the clock. Chiefs take Youboty and Pats take Carpenter. Chargers take Tye Hill after a trade for the Dolphins #16.

I looked at the very first pick in the draft and couldn't help but laugh. The Texans would be the dumbest franchise in the NFL to select D'Brickshaw Ferguson with the 1st pick in the draft. Trade down and draft him? Sure. Just not the first overall pick.

:ok: Nobody would trade . So if that was who he wanted he had to take him there .

What if Reggie does'nt do well in the pre-draft work outs . Thats why this is a mock .

This is supposed to be a realistic mock draft right? D'Brickshaw Ferguson with the #1 pick isn't even an option.

I disagree with you. I have the Jets in this mock & at the #4 pick, the Jets are almost guaranteed of getting Bush, or D'Brick. Both players are viable options to them, & they don't have to give up any picks to get one of them.

In my opinion, Bush doesn't upgrade the texans enough to warrant picking him at #1. If the Texans had decided that their man was D'Brick, & since I wouldn't trade with them & would've taken D'Brick if they had traded below me, they had no choice but to take him at #1.

Your comments make me believe that you are so locked in on Bush or Young, that you can't see what players would be of more help to the Texans. Dunta_23 made the right choice for his team.

Don't be so sure - the Texans need someone like him WAY more than they need Bush or Young. He's a viable option at #1, especially if he has a strong combine.

what are your first reactions reading the miami trade?

Since this is just a mock draft & future picks will have no bearing on this year's draft, I regret that I didn't think to offer you a future pick. Oh well, my loss.

As for your trade, if Rivers turns out to be everything he's been touted to be, then you made a very nice trade. You got 1st round talent & picked up an extra 3rd. Congratulations.

I think its a good trade...
and as for the comments of taking D'Brick at # 1...as I posted when I made my selection, I was leaving Talent on the board but being just a mock for this yr, nobody would trade the amount to make it worth while trading down so I tried to make the best pick possible for what this team NEEDS...everyone is entitled to their opinion...which is why there is so much VY vs. RB talk on the boards....

Okay, you mocksters, Hottoddie & the Jets are in a trading mood (Actually, I'm just bored).

John Abraham is available for trade!

After extensive negotiations, it is the opinion of the Jets organization (& Hottoddie) that we'll not be able to agree to a new contract with Abraham.

So, make me your best offer.

After much deliberation, offense or defense? San Francisco 49ers with the #22 pick of the first round select Vernon Davis, TE, Maryland.

You just got Philip Rivers and a 3rd for #16 overall and a future 2nd. If I were SD I would have wanted YOUR 2nd next year in addition to the 1st and 3rd. That would seem more realistic and something Miami is truly considering. That or moving up to get Cutler. Nice work Drift. This year's 3rd is probably worth next year's 2nd so you just got a QB drafted 4th overall for this year's 16th pick. Safe to say you got the better end of that one IMO.

If Davis fall to the Broncos in reality if they don't trade up I think they would quite pleased.

San Diego got that 2nd rounder next season not Miami. I realize that we are just focusing on this draft, but if the teams were really going to make a trade it would include draft picks for next year.

San Diego got the #16 pick this year (Tye Hill) and a 2nd round pick in 2007.
Miami received Phillip Rivers and a 3rd round pick this season.

Both teams get what they need.

i would like to package my 2 and 3rd picks to move back into the first round....pm me if anybody is interested

That's what I thought maybe I'm greedy but if I were SD I would want this year's 1st AND 3rd, in addition to next year's 2nd, not give a 3rd away. The way they did it Miami got Rivers and an extra 3rd this year and SD got Tye Hill. I am just saying the future 2nd doesn't nearly make up for this. Maybe I would settle for a 1st and 3rd this year but I definitely wouldn't have done it that way.
