McClain said today that Mixon gave a shoutout to Cade Stover and his blocking. He played FB and had 15 snaps. DeMeco praised his effort also. Conversely Diggs gave a shoutout to Mixon. Even said he thinks he still has more in the tank since he pretty much missed the preseason and may still be getting his legs under him.

Just my thinking. It would make more sense to me for Tytus to not even think about 45 & attack 41. Scruggs should come out & block 45. That would leave Stover on the DB & a huge gain for Mixon.

To me…. He’s a one year rental… I know I know 3yr contract but he translates to be basically a one year rental so if that’s the case .… I would want to utilize him to the max. Especially since he might be able to net one more payday after this one. Push him and hope he doesn’t break … but if he does…. Then that’s football!

IMO I don't think Slowik is planning to run him into the ground, but you don't want to tell the down-the-road teams that we'll be less of a run-first team. Saying and doing are two different things.

True, but you want him to be a big factor in the playoffs this year. I bet we'll see more of a rotation as the season goes on.
& if he's not going to make it to the playoffs it would be nice to see the other guys are capable of toting the rock.

That's the problem. We don't have capable backups at RB. Hell, the 2nd leading rusher on the team, that isn't a QB, is a Minnesota Viking.
