The official Injury Status Report is not out yet. But I would not expect Dameon Pierce, Nico Collins, Andrew Beck, Steven Nelson, Jimmie Ward, Henry To’oTo’o, Ka'imi Fairbairn or Jake Hansen to play Sunday. Stingley evidently has not had a setback, and from what I hear, he may be given limited snap counts Sunday. I still believe that he needs a full practice throughout the pregame week (especially including Wednesday, the most challenging practice) before being activated.

The Texans have reached a season-high 23 players on the Injury Report. On Wednesday, the list of DNP was 11............and that only dropped down to 9 today. This is a very worrisome trend.

Nelson dealing with cervical and lumbar vertebral issues is not promising for a quick return to play. No doubt MRI will be used to better define his injuries.

Ja'Marr Chase is likely to play Sunday. But he will definitely be very sore, and this will limit his performance. He may end up more of a decoy.

Quite questionable until you realize that the Texans are desparate for the CB position...........so much so that as I have come to find out, another player who should not be active, will be. Nelson, who was not slated to play due to neck and back injuries that kept him out of practice all week, is expected to be active as an emergency option at outside corner.

Dell underwent an MRI on his calf today. The team says that he sustained what is regarded as a relatively "minor" strain, and despite not practicing today, should be ready to play against the Broncos. There is no such thing as a "minor" calf strain in a speedster. I don't want to see him out there that soon. A grade I deserves more like 2-3 weaks in a shifty WR........and then there is still significant risk of re-injury.

Rankins suffered a dislocated elbow Nov 2022 essentially missing 3 games. He now has hyperextended his elbow. He shouldn't be playing Sunday, but the Texans may try to put him out there with an articulated brace. If so, his effectiveness will be compromised.

Important to know is that NFL teams can designate up to eight players to return from IR during the season, and an individual player can be so designated twice.
