Bmore was way more physical then HOU. Their offensive and defensive lines just kicked the hell out of us all day.

Schaub is killing me with the turnovers. Dink and duck.

Defense is bad against the pass, no pressure - no turnovers..

Special teams coverage needs more work.

No, I'm talking about starters he faced. You think Dallas just phoned it in during their last chance to no fault work on their starters? It would be different if Dallas had been taking last looks at their other tryouts, but they weren't.

Against the run yeah. Not much in terms of pass pressure. Joe Cool had a lot of time when he needed it. You guys really smacked this team in the mouth, hopefully it lights a fire and they learn from it.

Either way I was just trying to lighten the mood.. Didnt mean any of it. I was just trolling the fairweather fans.

.. Anyway, Schuab Wasnt the problem as much as the O line and the constant pressure he faced.

Maybe we can do what Baltimore did last year. They seemed to man up after that 43-13 loss in Houston. We need to take this 30-9 loss in a positive way and let it fuel us moving forward.

I'm more concerned with our pass defense more than the offense. Johnathan Joseph is not playing at an All Pro level like he did in 2011. He's been struggling for this being his second season in a row. Just doesn't seem to have the great speed he had in his younger days. And Kareem Jackson, for the life of me, never turns around to play the damn ball. If he just did that he could become a legitimate star in this league. He has all the other tools a top-flight cornerback needs but plays with a low IQ.

I feel like he's had enough bad calls for perfect coverage going against him he's forced to play how he does, in a fairness. He had so many interference calls last year where he never touched the receiver, but may as well have been their shadow.

If Schaub weren't so slow, the O line wouldn't be forced to keep the defense pinned for so long. Three seconds is an eternity, and Schaub needs six. My local high school QB could work out in the kind of conditions you seem to be expecting.
 
We'll see what the Texans are made of these next two games against the Seahawks at home and the 49ers on the road. Obviously, we should all feel good to be 2-1 and not 0-3 considering we trailed all three games in the fourth quarter.

Worst case scenario, we lose to the Seahawks and 49ers and drop to 2-3. But either way this AFC South is going to be a battle all year long. I still think this is a playoff team. I've seen other posters predicting 8-8 and no playoffs.

How this team is playing at the end of the season and going into the playoffs is more important than dropping a game or two early in the season.

Agreed. The pressure was the problem, not Schaub's inability to deal with it. As we all know no QB has ever been forced to cope with pressure on the way to a Super Bowl win. That never happens.

The loss in Washington and changing OC seemed to light a fire- also a lot of players got healthy on defense...
 
This wasn't a good game for us in any aspect.

Whatever momentum we had was killed when JJo got burnt deep on 3rd and 13 on the opening drive of the half. Immediately following, you could tell there was no miracle in the making. Ed Reed made little to no difference, which is sad considering who were settling for until he could get on the field.

The offense was equally inept. Most people will blame Schaub because its the easy thing to do, but terrible oline play and poor playing calling (a WR screen on 4th down? :kubepalm:) deserve as much, if not more, of the blame. Haters gonna hate, Schaub will shut them up or he wont. Fortunately, there are still 13 games to go.

Finally, Foster can raindance his butt to another team if it means a high draft pick or big improvement at RT. His heart's not in it and Tate is the better long term investment anyway.

I thought Foster ran pretty well early before we got behind. But I'd love to see a little more variety in the play calling. Do we run anything other than a stretch play? Doesn't seem like it at times. And it would be nice to see us get the ball to him in space more often than twice a year.

Do you think Kubiak has the tools to fix it, or coach around it?

Brennan Williams, got hurt, as did QBerry. Chances are we're not going to get someone off the street.

I wonder if the Browns would consider Ben Tate for Joe Thomas.

I think all his picks this year have been of different varieties.

Next week I think we'll see one where he throws it out in front of a WR on a deep ball but the defender will be I better position than our guy.

Almost got that one today.

Again, I think both calls against KJ was bull. Looked like he turned his head to me. Looked like he was playing the ball both times.
 
I think the entire team can play a lot better. There is no excuse for us to be trailing all three games in the fourth quarter. We were staring 0-3 in the face but I think we'll all take 2-1

Like I said, we're going to find out what the Texans are made of these next two games against the Seahawks and 49ers. These could be two must-win games early in the season, especially if the Colts beat the 49ers on the road right now. Texans, Colts and Titans may all be 2-1 in a couple of hours.

That AFC South is looking tough.

No he doesn't have the tools to create a perfect environment for the QB.

How about making a play or two when an oline men gives up some pressure.

I've watched a lot of games, and I've seen plenty Olines give up pressure. I've seen guys get free shots only to have the qb make a quick read or get out of the way to buy some time.

When Schaub gets pressured I'm expecting 1) fetal position 2) MAYBE he evades only to chunk it out of bounds

This is the same guy that threw the ball out of bounds when no one was close to him last year in a road play off game. That tells me all I need to know about him when he gets pressure. He loses his senses and goes into survival mode. The last thing he's thinking is this is an opportunity to gash the defense.

This is why I say u cant win a superbowl or even get to one with schaub. At some point, the qb has to make 5 plays that define the game. We've seen qbs do it when there wasnt a reason. We've seen rodger,big ben,and eli win with 0 running game and shoddy olines. In this day and age with the cap, u can only hide a qb so much or for so long. Kubiak has to hide the qb or overcome his lim7tations. We've seen qbs make wrs better. We've seen them make the line look beeter. The days of trent dilfer winning a superbowl is over. Unless u have a stacked team and somehow u get a rook or a 2nd yr guy playing at an all pro level befor3 u have to pay him. Its not that hard to see to those who open their eyes. The defense held ravens to 65yds of offense in the 1st half. If the top qbs get that kind of defense,that game is over in the morning 1st half.

The rule states contact with the QB's head intentional or unintentional.

I could argue a case for 'launching' also
 
It's a bs rule. If incidental contact doesn't wave off the penalty like it does for every other position, the qbs just need to wear flags. Which is ridiculous.

Not if it is at least a bone bruise. X-rays don't pick up bone bruises and seldom pick up early stress fractures. MRIs will tell the story.

True that! Except Joe sure got the call today. It's a stupid rule that's detrimental to the game. There's a huge difference between teeing off on someone's head and someone's head being bumped collatorally on the play. And the difference is quite obvious.

I forgive you for supporting your team. It seems you feel much the same.

hey fellas! tough loss last week but we Ravens fans remember that skull dragging the Texans gave us last year. to be honest, I was sitting at home and said; "Schaub is good for at least 2 picks" a game and then bam! he threw that pick 6 to my boy Smith.

question: I don't keep up with the Texans much as a Ravens fan so, what do you guys feel it is that causes Schaub to toss so many picks? he seems like a solid QB.

I think 16 picks is about right & he'll probably throw as many this year. I honestly don't think he thinks fast enough to "master" ball placement. So you'll get the one like we saw to Daryl Smith. He normally throws behind the receiver, which I hate, because there isn't always a reason to do so. In that case, where that LB was standing, that was exactly the situation you want to throw the ball behind the receiver. Smith wouldn't have had a play on it.

The one to DeAndre in the Titans game... He was playing it safe, wanted to throw it short of the sticks. DeAndre wanted to take it to the house.

But over 16 games, I think his numbers will even out to his norm. He's a machine. Not as well tuned as Peyton, but you know what you're going to get from Schaub.

FYI in the three years with Texans that Schaub has played 16 games he avgs 13 INTs.
