Hopkins traded to Cardinals?

Uncle Rico

Ur apology should be as loud as Ur disrespect was
LOL @ everyone backtracking and hoping for more "access" from OBrien and Co. by not saying mean things anymore!!!

LMAO @ the notion DeAndre Hopkins was expendable for this offense.

LMFAO @ the assumption Watson and Tunsil even want to be here long term with OBrien. They will get paid wherever they play. Why here? Why a dumpster fire of a franchise? Im waiting for them to ask for trades. Peep Watsons tweets today - he's obviously feeling some kind of way.

Yeah I read his tweet on Facebook and bro it's very clear the youngster is not happy. Getting rid of Hopkins the way they did was not a good look. They might've made it even harder on themselves to sign Tunsil.

its even funnier to read guys diminish the role Nuk had on the team and blatantly ignore the idiotic reduction in outside opportunity that OBrien intentionally implemented last year AT THE DETRIMENT of the offense (record be damned).

They harp on Watson holding the ball "too long" and yet taking away his best receiving option is 'no big deal' ????? Double standards galore.

I wouldnt sign here if I was Watson. I wouldnt sign here if I was Tunsil. I'd just use this team as leverage for my next deal. At this point Im prepared to watch this team burn if it means these young men will get a better opportunity somewhere else - OH NOOOOOO Im not a "logo lover" I actually care what happens to these guys - am I going to hell????? LOL

Tebow was drafted by a Belichick disciple and later was signed and cut by the Patriots. He was not drafted by the Patriots, but played under McDaniels and Belichick. If he was going to succeed with the Pats, he had his opportunities with the Pats. So, my answer is no.

Not only that but I remember Belichick telling him he would have to play Tight end.

Just curious but you indicate Vinny was unfair to you and maybe he was. Would it not be fair to say exactly what you did to be banned for life and also how you were able to return to the board?
It wasn’t a specific thing. I ran my mouth and a click of people didn’t like my opinion. I’m back on now with a new email and IP address with a new username.

I had forgotten that so thank you for reminding me. Of course I love how my original point started being ignored in favor of hammering home about Tebow.

Of course it's being hammered home by 4-5 posters. Did you really expect less?

Cant make those kinds of comparisons without being attacked. BTW, Tebow went just as far in the playoffs as DW4 has.

Speaking of hammering home. Tebow played in 35 games. So you can easily say he went as far as many QBs after their first 35 games. You can even add Peyton Manning and Drew Brees to your list of QBs that went as far as Tebow after their first 35 games. This is too easy.

& you bite every freaking time. Every time. It’s Kinda like that fool me once, shame on you.

A whole walk into a bar looking for a fight... don’t be that guy unless you like fighting. & if you do, don’t butch about it.

You've brought up Tebow in every post of the last page. It was even through your own question that got this page talking about the Pats and Tebow.
Go back and read, I also brought up RGIII and Manziel. First reply to my first post said it was a terrible comparison and when I asked how so then it snow balled to being about Tebow. I mentioned Tebow in a group and people like Texansballer pulled him out of that group to make it about him.

This 100% I’ve learned when there is a poster you just absolutely do not agree with and every post is going to be an argument you either learn to enjoy it, like I do with Kdog, or put them on ignore and forget about them, like I do with Rico. Either way stop thinking you are going to change their mind and getting mad when you don’t.

First off I'm not trying to change anyone's mind period. Secondly this stuff is not that freaking serious at all. I actually enjoy the mess out this forum. It helps time to pass by while working these long 12+ hours a day. And even Steel brings some solid material to the table.

What's crazy to me is you're so quickly to correct me but have a problem with me correcting Steel.

Oh I correct everybody, it’s one of the big advantages of always being right. :kitten:

Seriously though if you want to see some of the arguments between me and Steel go back and look at the threads when RS was still here. I was pretty much exactly how you are only replace Watson with Rick Smith.

Which by the way Steel you are still wrong about pretty much 90% of what you said back then.

Strongly disagree

There's a reason RS doesn't have another job in the NFL.

Yahoo Sports daily update email included this today:

More clickbait garbage considering that Johnson was largely prevented from "capturing the magic of his 2016" by being phased out of Kingsbury's offense last year & the fact that Cobb's per average contract of roughly 9 per over 3 years would be still be at a minimum 5 mil less per if we were to redo Nuk's contract. Nevermind too that more than likely there's probably an out in Cobb's contract that would provide some savings in the future......& the fact that we could get a WR in the draft that could help pick up some of the slack of losing Nuk's production.

You guys do realize that these same hacks are the same ones that crowned the Browns last year in the offseason right?

Whilst I believe it’s an awful move in general, I do think having an excellent possession slot receiver in Cobb flanked by 2 flyers in Fuller and Stills could be a great receiving corps.

Johnson, if the season doesn’t get played maybe they eat that bad contract in an unplayed season, they also can pound him for a year and cut him next year freeing up the space for Watson’s deal. He isn’t suited to O’Brien’s run game but neither was Lamar Miller and that never seemed to bother him.
I can’t think of a RB who had 3 down years in a row and then magically bounced back to being worth his cap hit.

I don't know if you can say he had a down year last year b/c of his play. It's clear as hell Kingsbury phased him out of the offense......probably b/c they were trying to trade him b/c of the contract he had. You saw the same thing with Gurley this past year too. In 2018 he had a damn good year amid terrible play at qb and on the o-line. & of course we know 2017 he broke his wrist & missed a ton of time, was all set to come back, but the Cardinals shut him down for the last 2-4 games...Again, not really on him.

You & a few others should really utilize the NFL game pass to watch how he was utilized from 2018 to 2019 under Kingsbury.

No direct answer for what he did that got him banned. (Of course not.

I'm sure he backdoored the system.

I always felt Vinny was very fair, but the kinda crap that's currently going on wouldn't be happening if he was still running the show around these parts. JMO

They wouldn't have to look past this season concerning Johnson's contract if they hadn't taken the contract on. Not sure I understand that one.
Hopefully DJ has alot left in the tank. If he does the Texans will have won this trade. DJ was really good 3-4 yrs ago.

Johnson has had more than his share of injuries. That is a legitimate reason why he may not regain his form. He was decent in 2018. Hopefully, he will do good this year.

The Hopkins/Johnson trade timing would have been affected by the fact that the new CBA doesn't go into effect until 2021.
From what I've seen, the Texans take a cap hit of 9MM if they cut Johnson after this season, so I'm not sure what he's referring to in the first part. But even if that wasn't the case, yes, they save $ by paying Johnson instead of Hopkins, but they save even more by not having to pay Johnson's bloated contract. No one put a gun to their head to take on his contract as the original poster mentioned. The only reason I can see to make that trade is if they feel that Johnson is worth the $ for the next 2 years. Not a plan to cut him after a year for cap savings.

every player has their share of nagging injuries. That’s not anymore legit than the level of risk of injury every player faces every season. 2018 he was just fine considering who surrounded him, the fact that he was learning a new system and he was coming off a year where he didn’t play. It’s not his fault he fell out of favor with the incoming regime.

How many running backs regained their form after 3 years of unproductive season?
3 “unproductive” seasons is a misrepresentation of the situation b/c he wasn’t unproductive in 2018 and he was clearly limited by the coaching staff in 2019. And lots of guys have been able to get a fresh start elsewhere and comeback strong after a relative down year.

Marshall Faulk/Jerome Bettis..2 guys with similar situations are 2 guys that 1st came to my mind...

todd gurley after his beast rookie season didn’t look like the same guy in his 2nd season b/c the defense was keying on him with a rookie Jared Goff unable to take the pressure off him. the year after that he was back to being a monster.

He had 1 great year and in 2018 he was solid. Last season he fell out of grace with the OC. But out of 5 years in the NFL he did handle his business in two of them. I hope he do regain his form from 2016. I just don't think he will.Screenshot_20200325-211502_Samsung Internet.jpg

his cap hit is 9 mil in 2021....but only 2.1 million of that is guaranteed. Even still, if he plays well and they decide to keep him for 2021, 9 mil is reasonable.
