Kind of.Any solid confirmation on DeMeco yet?
Kind of.Any solid confirmation on DeMeco yet?
Maybe the 49ers would jump at the opportunity to recoup some of their investment in Lance ?With what the 9ers gave up to move up & get Lance, he ain't going nowhere.....yet.
Never underestimate Cal's ability to F things up.Any solid confirmation on DeMeco yet?
I hope he picks a whiz offense guy not named Pep.Never underestimate Cal's ability to F things up.
Demeco has the makings of being a fine HC. No doubt his players will play hard for him and seek his approval. This question is how will he fill out his coaching staff. And does he see 2025 as important as 2023? Is he a BIG picture guy or does he only focus on the season at hand?
Remember when I called for this back in 2010 and said the McNair's were hands on owners. I was called all kinds of nasty names for my opinion.Cal/Janice selling the team... Or, putting a search committee together to find someone to run the organization (like Tex Schramm did for Dallas back in the day) and totally stepping away from all of it... Until then, we are dependent on good luck, IMO.
Back in 2010, The well-oiled PR machine had crafted Bob McNair as one of the best owners in all of sports. It was a time before that image became tarnished.Remember when I called for this back in 2010 and said the McNair's were hands on owners. I was called all kinds of nasty names for my opinion.
Unlike Caserio, Ryans enters his new job with rebuilding experience both as a player (2006 Texans) and coach (2017 Niners). He knows what he's stepping into. The first year or so will be about teaching and building confidence. But he's not going to tank. Expect as many wins in 2023 as the last two seasons combined. And does he see 2025 as important as 2023? Is he a BIG picture guy or does he only focus on the season at hand?
You sure? AFC North and NFC South plus, the Cardinals, Jets and Broncos.Unlike Caserio, Ryans enters his new job with rebuilding experience both as a player (2006 Texans) and coach (2017 Niners). As long as the Houston Texans main focus is the season at hand they will always be Houston Texans that everyone has come to know. If/When the Texans can get a leader who can plan for 3 and 4 years instead of one, then and only then the future of the Texans will change for the better. IE: Trading Tunsil, getting that enormous salary off the books, drafting an OT with #12, and getting a lot of draft capital in return. They are the Houston Texans with a cow as their mascot, so a herd mentality should be expected.Unlike Caserio, Ryans enters his new job with rebuilding experience both as a player (2006 Texans) and coach (2017 Niners). Two things we don't know about Ryans, (1) We don't know what his coaching staff will look like. (2) We don't know if he has an eye for talent. Those two things will determine Ryan's success or lack thereof. You sure? AFC North and NFC South plus, the Cardinals, Jets and Broncos.
I guess I could see a half dozen wins there.
John McClain:
Texans can’t let Ryans leave Houston without hiring him as their next head coach - Gallery Sports
Josina Anderson:
The authorization has gone out from ownership to close the deal, per league source.
We’re all monitoring through the final tape.
Half a dozen seems about right. Depending on if they get a vet QB and draft well as well as hit the FA market with success. They also need to get lucky with health. If all of these things happened they could win between 8-10 games. You sure? AFC North and NFC South plus, the Cardinals, Jets and Broncos.

What happenedGod Josina is a hack
I had, and still have, a much higher opinion of Bob McNair than you (I don't think I called you nasty names though)... but I certainly respect Bob less as a father, now that Cal is running things!Remember when I called for this back in 2010 and said the McNair's were hands on owners. I was called all kinds of nasty names for my opinion.
Purdy is going for a 2nd opinion. Since he is expected per reports to be able to return in 6 months, it is evident to me that he will not be undergoing Tommy John surgery. To me, this means that instead of a "reconstruction," he will undergo a "repair" using bone anchors and permanent sutures............and this tells me that the tear was either distal or proximal (near the bone attachments). If the tear were in mid ligament [see 2nd pic below], he would definitely be going to the much more complicated Tommy John reconstructive surgery.Purdy would not have been able to handle the ball with a ruptured UCL. He has suffered a grade I tear of the UCL. But his main limitations were due to the contusion of the ulnar nerve which is not uncommon when the UCL tear is not due to typical overuse, but acutely incurred due to a direct trauma to the elbow. Surgery at this point is probably very unlikely, and as long as there is no permanent nerve damage, he should be good to go for next season.
EDIT: Purdy's MRI showed Grade III UCL tear with ulnar nerve contusion. He will need surgery. Estimated return in 6 months. Amazing that he could even hand the ball off effectively in his limited time out there.
Wait, so we aren’t getting Ryans as our HC, and aren’t drafting a QB? I’m confused again. F***ing pancakes!!
#ThingsFoundingFanSayLOL, how long have you been a fan of Houston football teams? Just because I point out that history is repeating itself doesn't mean I'm not a fan of Houston football.
I LOL at posts like yours, I've read them so many times over the yrs. Pointing out that nothing has changed doesn't equal hating the team or wishing the best for them.
The guy who tweeted that cited Josina Anderson's earlier tweet as his source, so really nothing new there
Bro, you have the internet..Oh good lord, am I gonna have to watch the 10:00 news tonight? Local news is so horrid to get through.
If I believed everything I saw on the internet I'd probably think ancient astronauts built the pyramids on the edges of our flat earth. Besides which there's nothing of any real substance out there right now. I'm thinking we hear something tomorrow at the soonest, but this week sometime for sure.Bro, you have the internet..
I feel as bad for everyone who believes everything they read on the internet as I do anyone who believes everything they see on the news..If I believed everything I saw on the internet I'd probably think ancient astronauts built the pyramids on the edges of our flat earth. The only problem is your #3 even being part of the calculation in any capacity, which unfortunately it seems to be for some. But, alas, here we are in a society that's regressing.1. Quality candidate
2. Fan favorite
3. Minority hire.
Sounds good to me. What seems to be the problem?
I think Reid is an excellent coach but so is Shanahan. How many rings would Shanahan have with Mahomes as his QB? Kafka did a good job this year as did Ryans. It’s unfair to knock a coaches performance because he has talent to work with. One coaches under Reid, the other didn't. People have been pining for a Reid offense here for yrs. More than offense rankings, I look at whether Kalfka got the most out of the talent he had at his disposal. He did.
On another note I noticed that the Texans are a racist org thread got shutdown. I'm glad that's been put to bed. Some people have a lot of crow to eat.
Ah yes, but would that talent have blossomed if it were not for that particular coach?I think Reid is an excellent coach but so is Shanahan. How many rings would Shanahan have with Mahomes as his QB? Kafka did a good job this year as did Ryans. It’s unfair to knock a coaches performance because he has talent to work with.
Wait, are you saying that’s not the case? Whatever. Next you’ll be telling me Santa Claus isn’t an alien who lines reindeer carcasses outside of his spaceship like it’s notches on a bedpost. If I believed everything I saw on the internet I'd probably think ancient astronauts built the pyramids on the edges of our flat earth.
I just want to hear what Keyshawn, Steven bleep ash Smith and the rest of them jokers have to say.The only problem is your #3 even being part of the calculation in any capacity, which unfortunately it seems to be for some. But, alas, here we are in a society that's regressing.
We're about to get the #1 coaching candidate who also is pretty much the anti-cancer that ruined this franchise for 9 years who was a historical star for us and oh by the way we have a **** ton of picks and caproom.
I don't give a **** if he's black, white, brown, red, green, an avatar or anything else. I'm excited as **** and for the first time in a long time.
Does that description apply to DeMeco Ryans exclusively.....or would you apply to that to any HC the Texans hired? Two things we don't know about Ryans, (1) We don't know what his coaching staff will look like. (2) We don't know if he has an eye for talent. Those two things will determine Ryan's success or lack thereof.
I think the comment is self explanatory. Even a troll can understand it.Does that description apply to DeMeco Ryans exclusively.....or would you apply to that to any HC the Texans hired?
You might check out the mirror when posting something so low foreheaded.I think the comment is self explanatory. Even a troll can understand it.
