The Chronicle writers and others have also had some similar stories about the Preacher. I'm sure it's complete and total coincidence that Jack's totally inexperienced BFF has now gotten two interviews for HC. Nah, he's just the culture coach or whatever jackass title Cal and Janice has bestowed upon the Preacher. All I know is unless Cal sells the team, the only possible way to clear up whether he does/does not have any authority over personnel and similar matters is to put an empty box and a last paycheck on his office desk. Right now, 99% of the fan base thinks he does and its a horrible look.
That wouldn't surprise me in the least. The entire organization lives in a cocoon and thinks they are impervious to criticism.
I thought it was just a name you made up for a generic talk show caller. You really keep up with the names of these guys?
going so far as to let some local yahoo get on the air and scream and yell about how bad Jack is ....
You must be talking about Ole Larry from Stafford. Lol yeah he’s a darn clown. He’s a big time Watson fan who also believes the Texans set him up.

Here’s the greatest opportunity to solve this fustercluck once and for all and the owner is too busy dangling a carrot in front of Josh McClown….
He knows he can’t do anything without the HOF qb he lost…so he’s gonna look to move somewhere with a better qb situation….chickenshit in my book
No one on the radio is responsible for empty seats. It's on the organization. But - why hire or employ people who damage your franchise with negativity or let things out to the public that make you and the franchise appear foolish?
Only place that might fit that bill with an opening is the Jags but that team has so many other problems I don't think he wants anything to do with them.
What I want (O’Connell as the new HC) is probably not going to happen because it’s the Texans, and they’re known for dropping the ball. I do hope Caserio, who I think is the right GM, puts an end to all the dumb sh it that has transpired after late 2013 though. So you want Mills to hae to learn another offense in his 2nd yr?
Why do you think you will be disappointed? I'm really looking forward to the McConnell interview. From what I can tell Caserio is looking for a young guy with experience not only as a coordinator but has some experience in scouting.
I think this is a misleading argument. Fans are not complaining about change. They are complaining about what they perceived to be outliers in the way other NFL teams operate. The Patriots are not the only winning team in the NFL and many other teams who don't have Brady or Belichick are winning without Caserio and Easterby's unproven methods.Man you've really changed your tune from the times when I said the McNair's were bad ownwers who didn't really care about winning, Remember those days? I'm the kinda guy who really doesn't care about the optics of things. I just want Caserio to bring a winner to Kirby. Fans have never seen a winner and Caserio has changed things down on Kirby trying to bring a winner and time will tell if he's going to be successful. What makes me LOL is fans that still want things done like they were done in the past, even though those things were unsuccessful. (Not directed at you) You would think fans would embrace change, but I guess human nature is what it is.
It’s wild how there haven’t been any more SI articles on Jack since certain folks left the organization
Associate head coach. What the hell does that mean? And y'all still think my thoughts on the Preacher undermining a new HC to promote his teacher's pet into the HC office pronto doesn't hold water? If Josh and the Preacher are here together, it's a disaster waiting to happen. They will put the fun back into dysfunction.
I believe he has another year on his contract with the Aints - He can't just quit and go elsewhere.

Just because Caserio was on the headset with the Patriots, that is still an outlier to how other teams operate. Just because it worked with Belichick around doesn't mean you should just accept it as SOP when Belichick is not around. It's okay if you buy into the current changes happening at NRG where bridge coaches are a thing or hiring a coaching staff before a HC is the norm or GM has control of the coaching staff or interviewing HC candidates with no coaching experience. However, it's okay if some fans are skeptical of this approach and only time will tell if you will be rewarded for your optimism or skeptical fans will say, "we told you so".
One simple question. Which team that made the playoffs is operating similar to Caserio's top down approach? When I Google a wining team's culture, it's always about HCs and players building the culture that permeates the organization. So, again, Easterby and Caserio are outliers in the way they operate.

McNair made O'Brien the GM after one of the most embarrassing playoff loses of all time. His decisions, not the media, are the reason there were empty seats in the stadium. I doubt very seriously people with tickets stayed home because of the Watson saga. By the time the season started most people knew the number of allegations against him and it greatly diminished his image in the eyes of most fans. And that's where you are wrong.
If they are spreading a negative message to the masses, they are contributing to the empty seats. Particularly so when that negative message doesn't contain the facts or is a misrepresentation of the facts.
They've made the team to be the fool in the Watson debacle from day one .... Watson out there allegedly assaulting women but:
Watson wants out - it's all the team's fault. They did him wrong, they failed him .... they wasted one of his years. (Watson & David Mulugheta meticulously planned this exit demand)
The team is at fault for giving what appears to be a franchise QB with a squeaky clean reputation a huge extension with a no trade clause. (They'd have been crucified for not extending him)
The team is at fault for not knowing what he was really up to - allegedly assaulting women.
(The first reports came two weeks or so after the ink was dry. Too late. There was no reason to believe he was doing anything illegal)
It's the team's fault for not trading him, the whole Texans front office is full of brain dead morons. (Except no GM would pull the trigger with the legal issues pending. Every report by clowns like Jay Glazier that he was going here or there was just throwing crap at the wall knowing it wouldn't stick. No team made meaningful offers ....)
Hard not to know when these radio stations practically glorify these boobs. Larry in Stafford, Brad in Miami, Gilbert anyway and so on.
OK.If they are spreading a negative message to the masses, they are contributing to the empty seats.
Exit stage left Mr. Rootes and Ms. Palcic.
BTW, did you see where Rootes left his job with the Dynamo? LMAO that crap doesn't play with most orgs.
I'm guessing Gilbert has passed by now....
One morning I'm working in my office listening to iHeart, my wife walks in and Larry was doing his typical drivel, she's looks at me and says "what the hell is that guy yelling for?" I just laughed and turned his stupid ass down
To this day, the media in Houston blames Easterby for Watson wanting a trade. I just know there will be a lot of crow to eat on their part. Funny thing as well. These same media folks were scared as hell of Bill O’Brien. So if they think this is all Cal’s fault, they sure as hell were quiet about it when Bill was here.McNair made O'Brien the GM after one of the most embarrassing playoff loses of all time. No. Cal IS a brain-dead moron and he alone has created this mess, not the media.
Oh, and BTW. The media never leaked the Watson's mama story which led to Hopkins being traded for pennies on the dollar. And I'm pretty sure they do know all about that. I know Troy knows and he is now in the sports media sphere in Houston.

Huh? The Texans have always been tight with information, trying to control the narrative. Since Casserly. The media guesses & lays out a narrative b/c it’s all they really can do since they no longer have the access they once enjoyed.
And that's where you are wrong.

Yeah, so? HOU will soon be flush with picks when they trade Derrick and they can use part of it to get one of the best HC’s in the league. Who cares.Sean Payton is under contract through 2024 with the #Saints. If another team wanted to swoop it, they would need to compensate New Orleans. But that’s a conversation for next offseason.
I agree, still I find it funny a lot of the convoluted scenarios they dream up on 610 resemble a lot of the convoluted scenarios people spout off here.Very, VERY little of the fan base listens to sportstalk or even reads these message boards or whatever.
T
John McLain said they offered McCown an Assistant HC position.
Yea good to hear, I’d never wish illNo on Gilbert. I heard him on 97.5 yesterday.

Based on your perspective, that image could be the HC and Nick or Nick and Jack or Cal and Jack. Too funny.
We can't disagree with your sources? I'd rather see you argue with yourself. Still don't understand your 180 on Easterby.
i didn’t say I would stop posting in this thread..only that I’d stop entertaining the nonsense being posted in here by the usual Debbie downer, doom and gloomers b/c it’s clear that reasoning has gone out of the window for 1 silly reason or another with them. They’re convinced it’s all FUBAR….why? Because Larry from Stafford said so on the 610 this morning.
He’s never been loaded. It’s a mental disability.Yea good to hear, I’d never wish I’ll on anyone but he was loaded just about every time I heard him in the morning
You know Manning and the Manning family have more knowledge about the NFL and the NFL X and Os in their tiny pinky fingernail than the collective knowledge of this entire message board and every other NFL message board.
Compared to the Texans, over the first 5 years of Bortles NFL career Bortles was a much better thing (actually a better effect thru this season)
Looking back the Texans would've been so much better off had they drafted Bortles:
In 2015 they wouldn't have had to go thru the Hoyer and Mallett carousel while Bortles had more TD passes.
In 2016 you wouldn't have had to go through that awful, horrible, terrible Osweiler fiasco, saved tons of money and draft picks too while Bortles threw 35 TDs.
In 2017 Bortles may have been able to get the Texans to the AFC Championship game (a place they have never been) like he did the Jags.
In 2017 the Texans would NOT have drafted a sexual pervert as the face of the franchise and given him a $156,000,000 contract in 2020.
In 2021 the Texans would not have had to pay the Pervert $10MM to sit his butt on the bench for being a sexual pervert.
Not to mention that Bortles 103 TDs were much more productive than Clowney's 32 sacks.
If you and the Texans had listened to me 7 years ago, you know I could have saved you 6 years of heart ache with Bill O'Brien. You were such a cheerleader. I said at the time OB would fail like the 8 Belichick assistants who went before him. Who knew my clairvoyance would've seen that Blake Bortles would've been a better option for the Texans and Bill O'Brien would not?
I think that ship has sailed. What I think is quite possible -
McCown accepts that position which dispenses with the idea that he has no experience.
There's another Culley type for a year .... replaced by McCown in 2023 or 24.
They already have much of the staff in place for whoever that guy is.
Lovey - DC
Pep - ?? OC/QB/Passing game Coord.
Ross - ST
Campen - OL
Uh well he’s admitted as much on his calls with Greg and ND back in the day before Greg left so if that’s not the case then yes it was radio hyperbole and to take advantage of that for entertainment is disappointing. My adult son has a SMI, autism and Schizoaffective disorder bipolar. I can typically spot that but he flew under my radar. I can only wish him the best then. Larry on the other hand is a bloviating..,,He’s never been loaded. It’s a mental disability.
McCown was offered a Assistant HC position LAST YEAR. I don't believe that position refers to this year. They interviewed Tim Kelly for the same job.
If he hires McCown as HC, then I can see getting excited.
John McLain said they offered McCown an Assistant HC position. Like Culley with the Ravens, which we've already said means nothing.
It would be a perfect situation for someone like Ryans or Mayo where Caserio could help them put the team together and allow them to grow into the job. That's actually what I'm hoping for.McCown was offered a Assistant HC position LAST YEAR. I don't believe that position refers to this year.
That said, with all the coordinators and coaches projected to be maintained, it is difficult to see how a seasoned coach would accept the HC position. That won't be a problem if McCown is given the position. Though that will create other problems.
Looks like MulaGhetto is back pedaling now, lol. First his two clients, Watson and Flores, had been in constant communication and now they don’t even have each other’s phone numbers? I call bullsiht! I hope Caserio goes after them and whichever team signs them will have to cough up some draft picks!
Jack Easterby was painted as a booger man by the media, and by the players that were trying to stick up for the sexual predator. So I would say that more than 80% of the fan base thinks whatever social media tells them to think. There is a large percentage of this fan base that does listen to the media. You have quite a few fans that have started their own podcast. Facebook has different Texans groups. Every outlet that I know have trashed ownership, mainly Easterby and Cal. In the black community a large percentage truly believes Cal and company set Watson up. And most of them have said they will not be a fan of this team anymore.
Oh and yes 610 and 790 have helped in the lack of attendance as well. I’ve stop listening to them because they’re too negative.
I know.i don't get it
True that. But as soon as those allegations came out, jokers that I know immediately said Cal and the Texans set him up. They all would say the Texans are mad because Watson refused to play for them. Even fans from other teams are thinking the same thing. A lot of people would say you can’t f over a white mans money like that and think you’re going to get away with it.Jack Easterby was painted as a booger man by the media, and by the players that were trying to stick up for the sexual predator. So I would say that more than 80% of the fan base thinks whatever social media tells them to think.
