Gameday Thread - 8/14 - Texans VS 49'ers Preaseason Game 1

What a ******* horrible half that was? Outside of one play we had our ass handed to us by one of the worst teams in the the league .. and the "well it was only preseason".. please don't reply

That was one of the worst first halfs I've ever seen.. and the 49ers are projected to have a top 5 pick... Blaine effin Gabbert was the best QB ON THE FIELD and he sucks....yeah, I'm worried
 
Disappointed in what we saw in the first half. Can't wait to get Jj & Cush on the field.

Devon Still did not impress. Covington & Wilfork did not impress.

I did like what we saw out of Lamar Miller & Kenny Hilliard.

Only thing that worries me about Brock is continually throwing the ball short of the stix. I know it's preseason & I don't care to see any heroics trying to buy time or extending plays... but if you're going to throw it to a guy who's covered, throw it to a guy on the other side of the stix.

With several missing starting players on both sides of the ball, we're seeing the work the Texans need to put into their second units. Allot. Brock needs time. So does Savage. Without some kind of time (2 seconds or more) the Texans quarterbacks have no chance. The O-line has got to improve. Lanes need to be opened for the runners. The quarterback needs time and throwing lanes. Come on O-line. Get it together.

Brock sucked today. Savage has had no chance. Brock better get his **** together before savage gets to play with the better talent.

I thought Covington played well. Agree with everything else 100%

I thought Covington made some plays and Drummond made some nice clean up tackles.

Why are we running this 2 DL set on every play? Is this just a throw away type of game where you run a scheme that has nothing to do with what you will end up running or what?
 
Saying Chip Kelly is a better offensive coach than BoB is like saying
water is wet, bears crap in the woods, and a frogs butt is water tight..

IE: It's simply understood..

It's the only the 1st preseason game. And neither QB had time in the pocket. Be advised that we didn't have 3 of our starting offensive linemen. And Lamm was atrocious out there.

The first preseason game don't mean nuthin'. Few coaches try hard to win in preseason, mostly new guys trying to start off with a winning streak and guys like Harbaugh, Zimmer and your buddy that probably spoiled it for you, Kubes.
 
I really didn't like how often the FB was in the game during our offense in the 1st quarter, I actually think we'll be better without one this season

Sure but why is there pre-season game better than our. I refuse to accept that as an excuse. So much for the 72 million dollar man.
