Game 7: The Greenbay Packers.....No Joke!

Fair enough. It’s gonna be nice on Sunday. I was getting at the “huddled in “ as of them being old people. They were probably the oldest group of fans that I have ever seen in a stadium. Their season ticket holders are literally grandpa’s and grandma’s.

-Every- stadium “can” get loud but I have been in several different stadiums. None of them come close to domed ones when it comes to noise. I am a Deaf person, ya know? If we know when the stadium isn’t rocking. Domed ones vibrate like crazy.
You going to the game this week?

Hey we got lots of young people here as well lol.
I know I know! I parked my car at some young dude’s house. When the game was over… he invited me in and we had a great time, those guys love the Packers.

It was weird being told to sit down all the time during the game when we’re trained to stand 100% of the time in the bullpen at NRG. They were OLD PEOPLE.

Lmao.

Those who are worried about Lambeau being loud… stop it. It’s an open air stadium. They’ve got nothing on us.

Plus… I’ve been there… in December (the 2016 game). It’s full of nothing but old people hunkered down in blankets. They’re too cold to yell.
Sometimes it can be freezing in November. I was at a game in November against the Colts where I froze my butt off.

Our fans hopefully weren’t rude to you guys. I hope we were better than Eagle fans lol.

Several websites have Green Bay as the 5th loudest stadium in the NFL

I remember when Billy Joel and Kenny chestney played at Lambeau Field for a concert. That was in June one year and the place was more rocking than ever!

They have Lambeau Field as the fifth loudest NFL stadium. US Bank Stadium right behind them at 6. And like I was saying the Vikings crowd noise caused our offense to commit several penalties. I remember we were in the red zone and 4 penalties in a row pushed us out of field goal range. So I’m hoping we’ve learned from that experience because the crowd can be a factor.

Toughest Places to Play
Arrowhead Stadium — Kansas City Chiefs.
Lambeau Field — Green Bay Packers.
AT&T Stadium — Dallas Cowboys.
Highmark Stadium — Buffalo Bills.
M&T Bank Stadium — Baltimore Ravens.

The Texans have played the Packers 5 times with a record of 1-4.

12/07/2008...Texans..24 @ Packers.21 W

The death star up in Arlington isn't and has never been a tough place to play. The crowd is always half&half because it's deemed to be a "destination". Wouldn't be surprised if it's 60/40 or more in Texans favor later this season.

Yet the 2 that are considered the loudest in the NFL (KC & Seattle) are both open air.
Seattle has the roof over the sideline seating. It traps the sound and projects it back to the field. I went to a game in Seattle one time, and it was the loudest stadium I've ever been in. You can't hear yourself, much less anyone else near you.

Honestly I’m more worried about LaFluer the play caller than any 1 packers player. If we lose this game it’ll be b/c LaFluer was masterful in his playcalling to keep the Texans defense off balance.

Excuse you. Jordan Love too. The coach doesn't go into the game and execute.

I remember the 2004 game. I remember watching that game with a buddy of mine and his parents and Grandparents. My Dad was there too. That game holds a special spot in my heart as my buddies Dad and Grandpa both have passed away since. If I remember that was a Sunday night game. We woke up my buddies Mom at the end of the game cheering. That was Favre vs David Carr.

The Sunday night game was in 2012. It was the year the Texans were good, also the year the Packers started slowly, but Rodgers told everyone to R.E.L.A.X. And then he delivered with 5 (IIRC) TD passes vs the Texans. Wade kept blitzing, and Rodgers kept punishing the blitz.

Edit: 2004 game may have been Sunday night, too. But back then it was still ESPN, not NBC

I’m almost positive 2004 was Sunday night too. I remember it was late in the season November maybe?

I'm pulling for the Texans but, if I had to bet this one I would give the points and take the Pack.
This I think is a must win for the Pack. If we lose we’re probably not going to have a chance at the division and with how tough the NFC is I don’t know if 9 wins will get us in the playoffs.

My buddy at work is a huge Vikings fan. He’s been talking about how huge the Lions game is for obvious reasons. He was the one that told me about the Akers trade. I just came off vacation.

1. Solid play calling and clock management.
2. Trick plays are fun.. if they work. Don't mess around.

3. Stroud good on roll outs but.. illegal man down field cancels. Our guys not good enough to wait .
4. Solid tackles. Don't swipe at shoulder or head.
5. Block someone even if you don't know where ball is.

6. Diggs and Tank will show but so must TE and 3rd WR.

7. TEXANS win! And no huge injuries. Dline may not get sacks but they will disrupt the quarterback.

Aren’t u the guy who was just poo-pooing me saying Love was in that group of guys you could make a case for that 5th slot in the top 5 qb discussion? Now u wanna come and reign all this praise down on him? You must have him in fantasy lol.

Lafluer’s the known quantity here. he’s definitely a top 2-3 play caller in the league. Consistently has been able to scheme guys running wide open over the years.

Love’s got a great arm, very mobile but he’s not top 2-3 and head and shoulders better than CJ as a qb. if he were I’d be giving him his props like that. But what Love does have head and shoulders over CJ is a top level play caller in Lafluer. And if we lose, 1 of the bigger reasons for that will be b/c Lafluer was the difference in setting Love up, not b/c Love completely outplayed CJ head to head.

The way the national media is talking, it appears they expect the pack to win. Some of that is b/c of our injuries, some of it is b/c of how explosive the Pack were last game and some it is just b/c it’s the Packers and they are at home & are a favorite blue blood franchise.

I can’t say I blame them knowing my teams’ flaws intimately, but we got a lot of the same treatment when we about to play the Bills. They were expecting Allen to come in & put on a show against us and really kickstart his MVP campaign but the opposite happened.

No hate towards the packs, truth is we’ve faced tougher competition. They’re 0-2 against teams over .500. Pressures on them 100%

Team records packs played
3-2 (L)
3-3 (W)
1-4 (W)
5-0 (L)

4-2 (W)
5-0 (L)

In their 2 losses the Pack still put up 29 points in each. Once against the same Vikings that held the Texans to 7.

Ah got ya... No matter how great Love does, it's because of LaFleur. Same guy who was a wee bit on the hot seat with Rodgers leaving last year.

And shhhh... Please don't tell anybody about him being my fantasy QB. That's a secret!

Doesn’t matter. A lost is a lost. Cardinals almost beat the stacked Lions. Doesn’t mean greenbays significantly better than the Lions for blowing out the cardinals

The LBs ability/inability to stop the run and defend the TEs will have a huge impact on this game.

With Azeez Al-Shaair (Knee) and Henry To'oTo'o (concussion) nursing injuries. I expect the Packers game plan will be to involve TE Tucker Kraft who is second on the team in receptions and TDs (18 REC, 231 YDs, 3 TDs) to force the LBs into coverage. If Al-Shaair and To'oTo'o are out or limited, defending TEs in the seams might be an issue.

You think Minnesota & Detroit are going to win out? I doubt it.

Yeah… I’ve read that Seattle was built with crowd acoustics in mind.

Arrowhead was rowdy rowdy rowdy but I didn’t feel a thing there. Granted I was maybe 14 years old when I went there.

I guess “stadium loudness” is something that is determined in the eyes of the beholder.
Our fans hopefully weren’t rude to you guys. I hope we were better than Eagle fans lol.
They were great.

Yeah, I hope Slow has a gameplan to put up 80 points.

Hansen, Hill and Hewitt might be our starting linebackers for this game. Ouch might be a long day for the defense.

Disagree with this, Seattle and Kansas City are probably the 2 loudest stadiums in the NFL due to their stadiums designs.

I believe that not having Lassiter and Ward will put the Texans at a significant disadvantage against pinpoint Jordan Love. Without Lassiter, the Texans will go with Derek Stingley and D’Angelo Ross as the corners and safety Jalen Pitre in the slot.

At 5' 9", Ross could definitely be at disadvantage against Green Bay’s bigger receivers.............. Romeo Doubs at 6'2" and Christian Watson at 6'4".

Ross did surprisingly well against New England, I know the rookie probably wasn’t the greatest test, but here’s hoping he can put up a good showing.

I do find myself wondering, if Lassiter is going to be out for any length of time, is it worth the Texans pursuing a CB via trade? Newsome in Cleveland is a busted high pick that might be a reclamation project? Sure there are plenty around the league who might be worth a gamble for a low round pick.
