G.O.A.T. or duck: Bill Belichick

It's not misleading at all - He won 8 superbowls.

2 of them while he was a coordinator isn't some kind of throw away feat.

Not trying to raise Reid up by hating on BB. I just think/know BB is a mediocre HC and a great DC. Both things can be true.

Yeah his GMing started to suck and I can't say he didn't deserve to not be fired.

But him deserving to be fired now doesn't mean that I'm not going to still consider him the best defensive head coach of all time. Those things aren't mutually exclusive.

BB is still the coaching GOAT and everyone else is trying to catch up.

Lol sounds good. Pretty good record outside of Brady right? That's what a GOAT should do.

Lol. Ok. Y'all sure do defend BB for a Texans forum.

Texans were Patriots South since OB was hired (2013?) and until he was fired. Shoot, Romeo even coached here as interim.

And we still have a Patriots table setter as GM.

We know a thing or two about the Patriots and have discussed that franchise to exhaustion.

After OB and Easterby (former Patriots chaplain) decimated this team some of us wanted nothing to do with the Patriots retreads. We saw OB up close, Patricia in Detroit, and Josh McDaniels. So it was a surprise and a little disappointing to have Nick Caserio hired here after seeing all the destruction.

However - so far Nick is the only Patriots retread to have success.

But Nick did destroy the Browns franchise. lol.

I don't even like the Patriots or the whole "the Patriot way" thing. In fact I borderline hate it.

I'm thankful Caserio is his own man and doesn't run things like that at all. Heck BB would absolutely despise all the wheeling and dealing Caserio likes to do with his draft picks.

I just know what I watched for years and that was a top coach dominating and changing the league constantly. He always continued to adapt and everyone else was scrambling to keep up. He is the GOAT - at least from when I've been watching and that's all I feel qualified enough to speak on.

To be blunt saying Belichick is mediocre is borderline hindsight dumbassery. It's the kind of dumb thing shock jocks would want to say but even they probably have enough sense not to.

Sorry but I don't think you can run one of the greatest dynasties we've ever seen in professional sports let alone football and only be a mediocre head coach. I just can't see how that happens.
Lol exactly. That man is a first ballot Hall of Famer period. And will go down as one of the greatest head coaches in NFL history. 20 straight years of dominance.

Belichick was in the HoF before he or anyone else even knew who Brady was for his defensive scheme in shutting down the Bills’ K-gun offense.

saying he’s not in the top 5 of greatest HC’s of all time is borderline blasphemy. The only guys who he takes a backseat to are Brown, Shula and Lombardi. He’s at least on par with Landry.

Well I mean, does Houston have any experience at all in the Superbowl?

Sure do.

We hosted two that the Patriots won.

I think Belichick is one of the great defensive coaches of our time. #1 maybe. That and $500 for a Super Bowl ticket gets you to the big game without Brady. The Belichick way has never been successfully exported. Because the Belichick way doesn't work without Brady. That's been proven.

I thought you said I hated Brady? Try to keep your narratives straight.
Brady has said he wouldn't have become what he did without Belichick. Brady also said Belichick grinded harder in prep work more than any other HC.

I dont get where you thought I didn't like Brady. I loved the way he played the game. Your mind must be failing you. I was a Brady/Montana/Elway/Staubach fan. I appreciate greatness, in fact I'm headed to Boston this weekend to see my son in a regatta this weekend. He's rowing for MIT. The fall in New England is beautiful.
