DW4 Traded to Cleveland

Goodell cannot be happy with the circus that Watson has created. And that goes far beyond the massage issues. Do you realize how many teams have been affected, and how many QBs have been affected, and how many players' statuses have been affected. Not only that, but Goodell can't be happy about how he has disrespected his contract and has blackmailed his way out of Houston. He didn't appreciate Jalen Ramsey with Mulugetha's tactics of trying to control his way out of one contract in order to go to another team. I'm sure the Watson shannanigans have not gone unnoticed. No doubt, Goodell does not want this ever to be repeated in the future by other players. All of this has been nothing but bad publicity for the NFL as a whole. Hopefully, they will be heavily considered when suspension is determined.

Not connected to this tweet, but right after 6pm, McClain explained on 610 that Watson might renegotiate his contract so his 2022 salary was possibly as low as $1M. The reason was, if Goodell was to suspend Watson, his salary would be reduced on a per game average. So if his salary is only $1M, he wouldn't lose as much money than if he kept his salary at $35M.

This would certainly help Atlanta's cap and dealing with Ryan's dead money.
So Watson walked away from his extension now Mayfield wants to be traded and now Watson wants to manipulate his 2022 salary to basically avoid a penalty meant to punish his actions that have embarrassed the nfl. I can’t imagine Goodell taking the nfl this far down the road to oblivion

sorry for delay as I have been driving but I read a article from SI saying Ridley will bring a 3rd or maybe a second. He is not a great stats guy ~13 yard avg but supposedly catches everything close to him. Other posts RE Terrell as a CB this 24 YOA will be very good and possibly allow Nick to take McCreary or McDuffie round 2.
Another topic asked was Colts 2.42, would Browns give 13 for Ryan? Seattle probably not give 9 but 40&41? There remains a huge market for QB and Matt Ryan only costs $8.75 and that bumps his value up IMO. What if Nick is working some of those numbers into the DW trade?
ESPN's Dan Orslovky says Browns would give up their round one for Ryan and fit him into their cap. His cap to receiving team is $8.75 m and the cap space saved $4.8 for 1.13 is 50% of that. Browns should be all over that.

Wow. Ryan has 3 more good years to me so although it’s expensive, I can’t complain with this. Mayfield will net them a 2nd and a 3rd?

The Athletic ran a poll of ~800 of their avid Panther fan/subscribers. When asked if they wanted Watson 70% replied "No"..........1/3 of those replied "absolutely No."

As some have posted in the past, winning can cure most anything. But, it definitely appears that this whole mess has generated a huge amount of distain throughout the NFL landscape from female fans especially. Goodell better be cleaning out his ears and listening carefully, because at one point in time winning will cease being the answer.

True but if he is going to be traded would not "playing nice" get him to a team where he could get a ring?
He won't do that without wanting a great deal more that playing nice for his troubles. At this point in time the relationship is fractured and Ryan will find another team without "playing nice."

ATL is getting him. And this is good news.
They can now trade Ryan after getting Watson.
Unfortunately Caserio can’t get in on those picks this way.
But Caserio can demand more from ATL now.
I hope you're correct, but I would expect NO would also know if the Falcons do. Not sure they would keep a lid on it.

This is EXACTLY what we want. The perfect scenario. Cleveland just sends that #13 to Houston, so we get #3, #8, #13 in 2022. Any of those can be traded down for more 2nd's, which is likely.

Not to mention the players we'd receive and a 1st in 2023.

This trade will indeed make Caserio's career.

Now would you offer back 3 for Pitts?

Been surfin NO and Falcons forums.

Looks like a lot of Saints fans want to drop out and move on......

Of course DW is probably loving all this attention so why would he makes a quick end to all this.

I do hope he goes to Atl give me a 3rd team to hate.

Not saying the tweet is credible, but it makes perfect sense that his new team would restructure. The new team gets cap relief and Watson get salary converted to bonus that suspension can't touch. This was maybe Caserios leverage to get Watson to open his trade options and let the Texans seek acceptable compensation.

Im kind of afraid that the Texans get caught in a restructure and trade, making us liable for the converted money.

The only $ that can be restructured is his base and that would be paid by ATL. I fully expected that as it would allow ATL to go after FAs. *Falcons save ~ $4 m 1.8 & $2m on 2.43 by trading.

Let's see...teams have to be under the cap. So does Atlanta have enough cap space to trade for Watson before trading Ryan. Or is it they still have to trade Ryan before they can fit Watson in under the cap?

Yep. Atlanta will go on my hate list as well, right alongside Dallas and Tennessee.

There better not have to be a forth. I'm getting to old to remember all this.
Those are my other two.

NO while I'm not a fan, their close proximity would make it a little harder to hate them... but not an impossibility while DW is their guy.

From my understanding it would still take a miracle to shoehorn DW in.

He's not just an NFL version of a homewrecker, he's wrecking entire towns.

Again, if you listened to these guys on radio, on so many subjects, they continually just talk through their @$$.............but roulette wheel could still by chance land on their beloved Falcons.

Sometimes the most unlikely people still have good sources. I never understood Jay Glazer's career.

Let's not get greedy.

Just get the lilsumbch on up out of here.
I don't see it as greed... I see it as Watsoning his home team.

Remember he wanted to demand to be traded for a Snickers bar and a soda so it wouldn't hurt his new team.

I say gut them in everyway you can. Let him arrive to a newly gutted shell of a team that cant really rebuild with anything more than bubblegum and juice box straws.

Make the Falcons look like O'Brien is negotiating for them.
