I think picks should be the primary return. Texans are in full rebuild mode and should focus on adding as many young players as possible.
Understand, I’m just going off of what the GM stated.I think picks should be the primary return. Texans are in full rebuild mode and should focus on adding as many young players as possible.
Agreed and really it doesn't help their case because, depending on what they offered, he knows that team is going to be losing out on a lot to get him so if he goes to a team because they have X player and then finds out X player is part of the trade package it might change his mind. That being said teams have done dumber things.
Ruiz is their weakest link among the starters, but he's only going into his 3rd season. PFF grades are subjective, so his 57.6 may need to be taken with a grain of salt.
What worries me is that he plays between an excellent tackle and a decent center and was average at best last year.

Sources: Deshaun Watson meets for second time with Saints, decision expected to be between them and Falcons, Browns eliminated
After Deshaun Watson met with the Saints and Falcons on Wednesday, multiple sources predict that the decision is now between those two teams.www.profootballnetwork.com
more guesswork from non-Texans media
I could be wrong, but I believe they have to have the cap space to complete the trade then they can re-work the contract.Saints will likely restructure most of DW4 contract. His salary this year may only be $3MM.
A team can take disciplinary action. But can't affect the pay.I thought any team can suspend a player for being a detriment to the team?
Don’t know how true these rumors are, but dang.
Likely very true as the Falcons need to get rid of Matt Ryan in a hurry.Don’t know how true these rumors are, but dang.
beat me to it.Ryan is due a bonus tomorrow. If he's going there, he needs to tell them pronto. And I much prefer Atl to NO because of the draft position.
& Watson reached out to the Falcons. They weren't at the table, until Watson invited them.I guess the Falcons could be in the drivers seat since Watson’s home and family are nearby. Not to mention, the Falcons may have a suitor for QB, Matt Ryan in the Colts….who are also desperate for a QB1. Falcons would also be in a better position to bring in Watson’s contract than the Saints. I’m sliding my chips into the Falcons corner.
I gotta agree. ATL has a really solid ownership situation too.I guess the Falcons could be in the drivers seat since Watson’s home and family are nearby. Not to mention, the Falcons may have a suitor for QB, Matt Ryan in the Colts….who are also desperate for a QB1. Falcons would also be in a better position to bring in Watson’s contract than the Saints. I’m sliding my chips into the Falcons corner.
Absolutely not. The NFL Personal Conduct Policy specifically places suspension in the hands of the Commissioner and his discipline committee. [See page 5....."DISCIPLINE"].I thought any team can suspend a player for being a detriment to the team?
Ian Rapoport announcing that Atlanta has signed cornerback Casey Hayward. This would fit in with AJ Terrell being part of a trade to Houston.
Pretty sure they’ve done more than watch highlight reels
He’s good.Is Terrell decent?
He's good and would play for up to 3 more years on his rookie deal if we exercise his 5th year option. (He's going into his 3rd year)He’s good.
Now go get Sauce with that ATL 8th pick to play opposite him….He's good and would play for up to 3 more years on his rookie deal if we exercise his 5th year option. (He's going into his 3rd year)
Some on this MB claimed he was doing this already down on Kirby.
Recall the Jesus in Cleats comment from the departed Clemson guy? Wonder why we dont hear from that guy anymore?
Ironically, the guy you are talking about is no longer allowed to post here.
Yes he’s solid.Is Terrell decent?
What did the guy do?
He was a big time fan of Watson. Probably was Watson himself lolAnd who was he @Double Barrel ?
Good enough that "teams rarely threw his way". Had 3 int's last year.Is Terrell decent?
He is damned good...but he is also a client of our favorite agent. He’s good.
I believe he had Clemson in his handle. Poof, gone.He was a big time fan of Watson. Probably was Watson himself lol
That wasn’t me.I agree with you to a point. Sure, take a minute…but at the same time, he’s been sitting on his ass for a whole year & he’s had more than enough time to contemplate. I’m also sure there’s been some back-channel communicating thru agents too.
The other thing too is we’re assuming this is him holding everything up b/c of how it is being reported. For all we know, He may already know where he wants to go, he’s just waiting to announce. we may just be waiting on NC and the team to hammer out the details /finish negotiating.
Caserio better get 8, plus both those 2nds in this draft, dammit. And preferbly their 3rd too.…Not official, but it's looking like Atlanta.
Kyle Pitts tweeted it’s about to get scary in Atl.Not official, but it's looking like Atlanta.
Interesting enough, a quick forum search reveals that YOU were the first one to ever connect Watson and "Jesus in cleats" around here.
As a matter of fact, forum history shows that you said it many, many more times before the guy you mention above replied to it.
Ironically, the guy you are talking about is no longer allowed to post here.
If he chooses the Saints, I hope Caserio nixes the trade and goes back to the drawing board. If it takes another year, so be it. For the Saints, Watson would make them instant contenders for the NFC South title. As I predicted yesterday the Browns stood no chance because they are the Browns, in the AFC, in Cleveland, and have terrible fall weather. I don't think Carolina is getting him either as they don't have the glamour of NO or ATL in my opinion and don't have superstar playmakers (McInjury is always hurt and will never be 1/2 of what he was before). I think its Saints and Falcons who will both love Watson unconditionally. He should go to Falcons, but he will choose the Saints because that means we will get "Texaned" again with a sorry #18 pick and future ones in the 20s (basically) no top 18 first round picks for a top 10 franchise QB in his 20s. That is the Texans way.
He is now claiming to be talking about the Casey Hayward signingKyle Pitts tweeted it’s about to get scary in Atl.
He deleted that tweet.Kyle Pitts tweeted it’s about to get scary in Atl.
